Rental included two life jackets, two seat cushions, and two paddles. Single-person kayaks are also $35/day. FIRST IMPRESSION We were greeted casually - one of the staff shouting across the yard asking us to pull our car up further. PREP AND EXPERIENCE After moving the car towards the picnic tables/shore, we went indoors and were given great tips for where to go in our 2.5 hours and were told how to navigate the water trails of a forested section of Caddo Lake. Thanks to this instruction we had a phenomenal experience!! We so much enjoyed this incredibly unique and beautiful lifetime experience of paddling from NN-M-MM-F-L-A-M-NN trail markers and making feeble attempts to capture some of the beauty via photos and videos. GUIDED TOURS The Marina also offers daily guided tours for $35/person for one hour - a trip we would love to return for in Spring! If in the area certainly consider a paddle or a tour or even just stopping in for some Southern hospitality and a drink!

The building the bride and groom rented, Snug Harbor, wasn't the Ritz Carlton, but it had a great atmosphere for an informal wedding with lots of space and all the accommodations you would need for a weekend getaway like a stove and beds and baths and a washer-dryer. The yard out back was gigantic and featured a fishing pier, a lovely view of Caddo Lake, little pirogues and canoes with paddles, and a fire pit. The only thing you may have a problem with is that there are a lot of knick knacks inside the cabin and they may attract dust, but they looked pretty well dusted when we were there. I would highly recommend this spot for a short vacation or getaway. Uncertain is a FUN little town, the locals are the nicest people in East Texas, and Caddo lake is gorgeous. You can't see into it - it's about the color of coffee and not good for swimming, but if you love to fish or boat, Texas's only natural lake is a great place to go. There's also a convenience store a couple of houses down, a bar a few blocks away (bring your bike), a flea market nearby and great restaurants all around the lake. Also - the Testicle Festival was going on the weekend of the wedding. I don't know if that's a celebration for the consumption of testicles or the castration of animals or a meeting for testicle cancer survivors, but it sounds entertaining and you never know in Uncertain.

We even described as much in detail as possible where we placed everything we used. However, the owner insisted we should pay for the missing pillow. I refused. Later they went through airbnb and claimed the pillow to be worth a even higher price than previously claimed. I began to feel they are just trying to get more money from me. Please be advised to TAKE PHOTOS of the inventories after you checked in and right before you checked out. I never thought that was necessary when I stayed at other airbnb properties in the past. However, after experienced all the trouble here, I became more cautious to keep evidence in the future.Running into this indecency during travelling stays on your mind and really hurts your feeling. They kept imagining that I take vengeance on them because they didn't provide hair dryer...we were just travelling with a light mood. We didn't even pay attention. They reflected their darkness in their heart on us. They tried to picture us as dirty and indecent people all the time. Could they be racists? I am just so confused...

It was just the hubs and I and our pup, so we didn't really need any more room than what we had. There was a full size coffeemaker and fresh coffee, along with some snacks. My biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness. It felt like the owner (who lives about 50 feet away) may be hanging out in here regularly, which is fine, but at least hire someone to clean it before guests arrive. The main reason I stayed is because there was bad weather the first night and I didn't want my husband to have to reload all of our stuff and go find some other place. The owner seemed to be a nice guy and I didn't hate the accommodations, I just prefer it to be clean. Price was reasonable as well.

Subdued, tasteful, mostly utilitarian decorating instead of overload you see in some cabins or B&Bs. Hosts literally thought of EVERYTHING you might need, name it. An extremely well-stocked kitchen & bathroom & shockingly generous supply of edibles/drinkables/goodies. We used the chiminea (fat sticks easily gleaned from yard to feed it) & also the little grill, nice. Enjoyed the whimsical yard art, again, liked their tastes. There was even a bottle tree outside to trap bad spirits, must be doing its job, lol. Reception for Wi-Fi and cell good. There were CDs & DVDs & a player but the TV also had cable, so 7 channels, I think, hope you like old Westerns & Forensic Files reruns, we did. Of the few DVDS they had, one was an older fave of ours, The Good Girl, so great to see again. Was cool, rainy weekend so we didn't walk afield, maybe next time but then next time might order up another rainy weekend, works for us. A few times we heard a braying donkey neighbor some distance, didn't bother us, made up for not hearing or seeing much of the wildlife other reviewers talked about. Did see birds, squirrels and an armadillo. When I say hosts thought of everything, I mean it, no, really, you'll find every single little thing you'd ever need, plus books to read (finished one from home and left it & a magazine for the stack) & cabin had a binder of instructions about anything & everything inside the place (check it out, we found lots of crucial info in there) plus a roundup of local things to do, nice mentions of the very fine Caldwell Zoo & the Tyler State Park. We welcomed guidance on how to start shower (pull ring down from faucet, aha!). If I had to say anything remotely negative it's that the steep stairs challenged me as I'm recovering from an injury. But the bed at the top made up for it. What else. Well, it was just nearly too perfect & afraid we might have trouble booking it during later, finer weather. We'd gone there for the singer-songwriter series, this one for the insanely talented Jeff Black who performed at the Old Firehouse. We had to skip out of the performance halfway through & head home early, ever-on-call husband had sudden work obligation pop up so we didn't get all the good out of Edom, our cabin & the concert, but we still left happy.
