OOh The Store is fab-U-lous. I seriously considered not writing a review simply because I wanted to keep this little gem all to myself, but hey, I am generous like that. You can thank me later. An antique/thrift/oddity shop, prices are insanely cheap, wares run the gamut from awesomely retro, to basic necessitites, to tack-a-rrific junk. For example: Great carved serving tray with handpainted tile insets I bought for a mere $3? Awesome! Handsaw with the blade handpainted with a nauseatingly bright landscape scene, perfect for your hard-to-shop-for lumberjack friend? Um, soooo tacky, yet oddly hilarious. That one is still there, you might want to run and get it. A 1970's plastic and metal rolly cart for $12? Damned awesome. Wish I had a place for it. A painting of a running deer on black velvet? Tack - no wait, that was actually pretty bad-ass. mmmm, velvety. I hate how stuff is usually WAY too over priced anywhere in Chicago or the surrounding towns, so I definitely want to patronize this business as much as possible. You can find some really cool finds here at The Store. The prices are reasonable...cheaper than an antique store but more expensive than a thrift store. We didn't find anything that interested us in our recent trip, but it's fun to look around and the anticipation of what you just might discover is always a treat. What is an all American boy doing in an Antique shop on a Saturday when he should be home watching College Football? I have no idea, but I have to admit I really enjoyed browsing around the store. It's like a walk down Alzheimer's lane. It brought back great memories of my childhood. There were household items that I haven't seen in 20 years, toys that I had when I was a kid that were spread out all over the store. Other than the sports memorabilia that I collect, I have no idea what this stuff is really worth, but it did seem a bit pricey to me. If you go shopping in the Richmond area the Store is a must see. You never know what you will find. read more

We were out exploring/wandering in the area and saw "The Store" sign in a little strip mall with a grocery store & veterinary clinic...glad we stopped to check it out. Nice resale vintage/antique/collectibles shop was like a treasure hunt to explore! Well organized by each vendor that has a "booth" set up there. Everything appeared to be a good shape for the most part and the entire shop is very clean which a good walkway/aisle winding through the store. And quite a wide variety of items, too! There are vintage household, kitchen & dining items, small furniture, all kinds of collectibles & memorabilia, jewelry, some clothing, toys etc. One booth had a bunch of vintage radios...not something you find regularly at these type of shops. They have a range of price points as well so some items are on the pricey side but there were some good deals to be found, as well. The customer restroom had an "out of order" sign on the door while we were there so that was the only downside. read more

I love this place, and always find something that jumps out at me. The prices are very reasonable, and yesterday when I was in, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that most things were 20% off. One booth had 75%, what a great deal. I think I caught the last day of the sale though. Even without a sale going on, I feel most prices are more than fair. The store manager is a wonderfully friendly and helpful person who warmly greets everyone as they come in, and knows where things are if someone is looking for something specific. The store is well organized and visually appealing, and things are always moving, with new items coming in regularly, so its fun to come often and see whats new. read more

Bring a fan and ice water, it is SO hot in there, my husband had to wait outside - so hot he got dizzy. NEVER have I seen so many signs saying "You're on camera!" "Shoplifting is a crime".. no kidding?! There were AT LEAST five signs. And 3 people keeping an eye on you from up front. These vendors are CLEARLY in the wrong business. The prices and selection are good.. I'll never go back. read more
