Kara Jacobson is a phenomenal instructor, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping each dancer grow. She creates such a welcoming and supportive environment, where I feel both safe and encouraged to push myself. Her focus on technique and alignment is just what I needed as someone starting later in life. Every class is challenging in the best way and leaves me feeling stronger, more graceful, and more confident. What I love most is how this space feels like a true community. The energy is positive, and the staff is friendly. Whether you're brand new to ballet or getting back into it, I can't recommend this studio enough. Coming here has been one of the best decisions I've made for my body and mind. I always leave feeling inspired!

I shared with her that I had no experience but was looking to learn in a fun environment. She recommended Mr.C's Beginners Ballet. I mentioned that I read the description and that the class was not a 101 class. She was friendly and encouraged me so I thought I would give it a shot. When I arrived I shared with the woman wearing glasses at the check in desk that this was my first time. She was short with me and I had to ask where to go until the class started. I came out before class started and mentioned it looked as though everyone had quite a bit of experience. The three women at the front including Sarah assured me that it would be uncomfortable but to give it a try. I even asked if Mr.C would yell and they all said no. I had and eerily similar experience to the other reviewers with no experience. I was berated throughout the entire class. Even while I cried Mr. C persisted on critiquing me. He moved my head and forced me to look at him. I also lost the will to continue when everyone had to dance across the room. As he was shouting that I had to do it I calmly said I had enough. I went to gather my thing and he thrust his hands at me and shouted, "NEVER COME BACK!" As I put my shoes on in the lobby not one of the three women said a word. I would not recommend TADA. My goal was to learn, not be humiliated. This is not ok for anyone. I have read the review responses on Mr.C's background and I don't think this serves as an excuse for rude and unprofessional behavior. Perhaps just be direct and let adult beginners know that this isn't the place to learn. What I did take away was a reminder that when you are an expert and someone is a novice to always be patient and encouraging. The world could use more patience and kindness.

Dancefx is a not-for-profit so they really rely on and commit to the community. Plus, they are SO AFFORDABLE! They've got a ton of classes and events coming up and they sell clothes there, as well so you can make your tutu and leotard dreams come true. If you've ever even thought about taking a dance lesson this is the place to go. All the instructors were amazing in showing us how to merengue! (Sp?) They teach all ages from 2.5 years and up, so there's no reason to be shy. They even have babysitting events so mom & dad can go out while the little ones get some energy out!

I'm not going to lie, I was pretty intimidated myself when we attended a Yelp Elite event at this place and our instructor, Emi, told us we would be learning how to do the merengue(I thought that was pie?). Ok, moving on... Emi was super friendly and didn't make any of us feel like we were too stiff to be there (thank God, I saw bullets streaming down hubby's face when we pulled into the parking lot). The event we attended was called Elites Get Coupled, which was appropriate given that it was almost Valentine's Day. Though my guy was totally nervous about this, I'm so glad we went! Emi, along with Lorien, taught us some merengue moves, and it turns out almost anyone can learn to dance. We felt pretty good about our abilities by the end of the event! Lorien brought in her all-girl hip-hop group (I think they're part of the Pin-Up Troupe?), and they were SO COOL... and talented, obviously. I could have watched these ladies perform all day!! Though they may have had me feeling like my new merengue moves were a little lame, at least now I know I have something to work towards... right? One of the best parts about Dancefx is the fact that they're a non-profit and donate to all kinds of local charities that support causes like fighting AIDS, helping the homeless and people with disabilities, and so on. I think it'd be such a thoughtful date idea to bring someone here and learn a couples dance! You get to know each other in a different way and can judge once and for all who's got better moves (I think we all know who won that dance off...wink wink). Plus, giving back to the community is icing on the cak--lemon meringue pie.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dance With Me!…read more My fiancé and I have wanted to take dance classes for years, and we were thrilled to start our lessons here. Coming in with practically zero dance experience--and not much natural rhythm--I initially felt self-conscious and intimidated, but the incredibly kind and welcoming staff put me at ease right away. We've had lessons with Oscar, Tristen, and Olga, and every single session has been an absolute joy. They are not only skilled instructors, but also patient, encouraging, and so much fun to work with. Tay has also been amazing, always helping us with scheduling and making us feel right at home. It's been so exciting to see how much we've improved with each lesson. We genuinely look forward to every class, and learning to dance together has turned out to be such a fun and romantic experience. I only wish we had started sooner! The studio itself is stunning--warmly furnished, immaculately kept, and located in a convenient spot behind the mall with its own easy-to-access parking lot. The area is well-lit, safe, and never overcrowded, which makes every visit a pleasure. If you've ever considered dance lessons, do it here. Dance With Me is a class act--10/10 all the way.

I initially started taking classes to help build my confidence, but my reason for staying is entirely different. Not only am I more confident, I'm more outgoing, I'm more willing to try new things, and my anxiety over social situations have decreased drastically. The Sunday after my introductory lesson, my Pastor noticed I was carrying myself differently and made a comment about it. When I say this specific Dance With Me location has the most inviting, friendly, encouraging staff, I mean it! Everyone is welcome, and taking classes here has shown me that anybody can be a dancer. I was concerned because I'm plus sized, and I thought I might experience some limitations, but being here taught me that I was the only thing holding me back. The instructors have so much faith in us students and gently push us out of our comfort zones. If you're hesitant, I really think you should give it a try!

From the very beginning, Casey and Milton were SUPER professional and flexible when it came to booking, viewing and ultimately reserving the event space. They went out of their way to deliver excellent customer service, on many instances coming in to the venue before/after hours to accommodate my family's schedule. They stayed throughout the entire event and were extremely responsive to any requests we had through the entire event. I highly recommend this company. Our event had roughly 100 people and we utilized the smaller of the 2 event spaces and it was MORE than enough room. We brought in our own food and beverages and the team at Ikonic Dance allowed us to use their kitchenette space, as well as 50 in house chairs and tables. There were 2 restrooms as well as a waiting area at the front of the venue. They had a freshly installed wood dance floor completed before our event which was an added benefit. The facility overall is in EXCELLENT condition.

As a past pre-professional dancer, I really lost a big part of my life when I quit for college. The Atlanta Ballet offers some of the most solid ballet education classes that I've taken, apart from the dance classes I grew up on. The Adult Open classes are great for any dancer of any age, size and level. I myself enjoy the beginning/intermediate level and the intermediate level. I recently took the Tuesday night intermediate ballet class with Carol, which was hard for me to get accustomed to, since she has a different training style than I grew up on. But she recognized that and was very helpful. The studio itself is a bit outdated, located on the second floor of the Buckhead Centre plaza. There were two dance studios (that I could see), two dressing rooms and a large waiting area. The rooms aren't exactly soundproof so the music from the other studio leaked into ours pretty often. But you got used to it fast. Overall, a great class and experience at the Atlanta Ballet. I will definitely be back!

Classic behavior of a business that thinks it has no competition. There are other, and better, options for ballet instruction in Atlanta!

Do bring: water, wear contact lenses, ballet shoes. Some people wear leotards + tights, others wear t-shirt+ shorts. Just wear what is comfortable for you. Location: short distance to I-85. Parking is extremely tricky. The parking spaces are limited. Facility: super clean, very well renovated. The classroom I was in was a little crowded. I took the Monday evening ballet basics class and I had no ballet experience at all. The instructor was a man in his 30s or 40s. I loved the class, the atmosphere was warm and the instructor was quite enthusiastic, however he is sometimes a little strict in my opinion. I thought the adult basic class is for adults who had no experience and who practice ballet for fun. Most of the skills he taught were quite basic, that was until 30 minutes before the class ends. At that time, he increased the difficulty level, and I had a hard time to catch up, especially since I am not familiar with the french terminology. He did correct the form for the students. Price: For adults, Single Class Card costs $20 and 10 Class Card costs $150. And I do not think they run any deals except for the Groupon-Now deal (which I believe is for new students only). So this place is quite expensive in my opinion. Compare with Atlanta Ballet, Dance 411 and Gotta dance Atlanta: Atlanta Ballet-Adult open division: Pros: $10 (student price) drop in price for a 90 mins class. The instructor I had was very patient. Cons: None. Dance 411: Pros: Runs a lot of deals. The instructor I had was very patient. Cons: Hard time to find a parking space, I had to park at a nearby Chinese takeout each time. They discontinued the ballet drop in class and the instructor was teaching only kids classes now. Gotta dance Atlanta: Pros: Runs a lot of deals. Cons: I took the explore ballet class, and the instructor was not very experienced and not quite patient. I do not recommend explore ballet class taught by Rikki. Also the facility is not as well renovated as Studio Dionne.

It's really easy to spot the location as you approach the shopping plaza from the south, and it took me less than 5 minutes to get here from I-285. The studio is nicely decorated, giving a comfy, welcoming feeling when you enter. This is in stark contrast to some studios I've gone to that are basic and drab. There is only space for one class at a time, but the floor is huge! I'm thinking there would be more than enough room for a class of 30 people. There are barres (the portable kind) for hosting ballet classes, and weights of all sizes for fitness classes. The floor is kind of slippery, so if you tend to dance barefoot a lot and have soft feet (like me - definitely slipped a couple times lol) I'd suggest to at least wear some jazz footies with a grip bottom. There is ample cubbie space to store your belongings during class. There's even a good amount of waiting room for parents if you're looking to hold a class for children. Also there is a dressing room in addition to one unisex bathroom. On my way out, I spoke to the owner who was extremely friendly and mentioned that the studio has several time slots open for rentals at the moment. Dance instructors - check this place out!
