Ballet has truly been a game-changer for me, and The Atlanta Dance Academy has played a huge role in that transformation. I take the Adult Beginner Ballet and Barre classes. Kara Jacobson is a phenomenal instructor, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping each dancer grow. She creates such a welcoming and supportive environment, where I feel both safe and encouraged to push myself. Her focus on technique and alignment is just what I needed as someone starting later in life. Every class is challenging in the best way and leaves me feeling stronger, more graceful, and more confident. What I love most is how this space feels like a true community. The energy is positive, and the staff is friendly. Whether you're brand new to ballet or getting back into it, I can't recommend this studio enough. I echo what the other reviewers with no dance experience have shared. If you have never danced before this is NOT the place to learn. I called in advance and spoke to Sarah. I shared with her that I had no experience but was looking to learn in a fun environment. She recommended Mr.C's Beginners Ballet. I mentioned that I read the description and that the class was not a 101 class. She was friendly and encouraged me so I thought I would give it a shot. When I arrived I shared with the woman wearing glasses at the check in desk that this was my first time. She was short with me and I had to ask where to go until the class started. I came out before class started and mentioned it looked as though everyone had quite a bit of experience. The three women at the front including Sarah assured me that it would be uncomfortable but to give it a try. I even asked if Mr.C would yell and they all said no. I had and eerily similar experience to the other reviewers with no experience. I was berated throughout the entire class. Even while I cried Mr. C persisted on critiquing me. He moved my head and forced me to look at him. I also lost the will to continue when everyone had to dance across the room. As he was shouting that I had to do it I calmly said I had enough. I went to gather my thing and he thrust his hands at me and shouted, "NEVER COME BACK!" As I put my shoes on in the lobby not one of the three women said a word. I would not recommend TADA. My goal was to learn, not be humiliated. This is not ok for anyone. I have read the review responses on Mr.C's background and I don't think this serves as an excuse for rude and unprofessional behavior. Perhaps just be direct and let adult beginners know that this isn't the place to learn. What I did take away was a reminder that when you are an expert and someone is a novice to always be patient and encouraging. The world could use more patience and kindness. read more

Beautiful studio and great choreographers! After a 6 year break, I wanted to get back into dancing. Today, I took intermediate jazz with Tim and intermediate hip-hop with Khalil; they were very understanding, encouraging, and supportive! Will definitely be back. read more

There have been several reviews speaking of the Older Teacher Who Yells. It would be one thing if it were critique and judgement of the dancing and how it can be done better. It's not just "Stand Taller" or "Move your foot this way." it's more the "I will cut your arm off if you do that again." and "You don't listen. You don't pay attention. You must have cut class in school" It's the intellectual ablism that is a problem. Students are attempting to listen to the teacher, watch the teacher, engage in the dancing and do everything in time to the music while learning all the terminology. There is a lot to pay attention to and process on top of some one judging you for a learning disability or being neuro-diverse. Also smacking some ones foot and threatening to cut it off. read more

I really enjoyed the adult beginner tap studio on Thursday night. I've been taking beginner lessons at Dance 101 and wanted to practice, so I hope that this class would help mix it up and build on what I've learned. It was exactly as I hoped it would be; I even built up a little sweat. The instructor had some fun exercises and was attentive to everyone. The choreography she prepared was at the right level for people who just know the basic moves. If you are thinking about trying out this class, you don't need to bring shoes (though that's more fun - there are cheap pairs at some Payless). You might want to find videos online of the basic steps: front tap, heel tap, brush, shuffle, step, stomp, leap. Then just show up! read more

LOVE!!!!!!!!! I take the adult jazz Broadway class and the instructor is the sweetest girl and i really enjoy it. I also took the Vixen class and literally burned over 1,000 calories in just an hour. Highly recommend both classes. read more

There are kids classes,teens and adults .Warm welcoming atmosphere without competition or judgement as you may experience in other studio not far from there !
