I have no gymnastics experience whatsoever. I wore jogger style pants (the ones that get tight at the ankles), a tight tank top, and a polyester shirt. My outfit worked well for what we were doing because it was breathable but also tight enough to where it wasn't flying in my face when I went up side down. You can also wear shorts and any regular t shirt. Just wear something comfortable Barefeet on the floor and also a mask required at this point. Months back I bought an UnderArmour face mask that is perfect for working out in, and it was perfect for this. Also, being a water bottle! Parking is fine (at least at night), there is a parking lot in front of the gym with plenty of spaces. And if it were to fill up there is a neighborhood(on Albany Ave at Donovan Ct) that you could park in and just walk through a little walkway that leads directly to their front door. I walked in and met coach Shawn and one of the other participants. My classmate showed me where to put my belongings (there's benches that are visible from the floor of the gym). As a class we did some conditioning to warm up - that night it was push ups, planks, toe raises, some jumping. It was very doable; my classmates told me that in past classes, conditioning is more challenging (something to expect). Then we did basic stretches. After that, the coach tells the class where we are for the day (floor, bars, beam). This night we were on bars. The coach demonstrated the different stations and then we rotated between them as a class (one person on each bar doing something different). My classmates were amazing; they helped me and encouraged me. After a while on the bars it became open gym where you can practice anything. I just jumped around a lot and also practiced falling backwards into a mat. So thankful that Davis Diamonds has an adult class! If you're thinking about trying it but a little anxious, I say give it a chance! There is a range of skill levels among the adults and no judgement; just a lot of fun. ‍

Also, they are prepping their muscle memory for the next steps of gymnastics. But the best thing I see is the cleanliness. After each class, they sanitize everything. A facility that's located in a warehouse with tall ceilings and roll up doors will not be easily climate controlled. The staff is amazing, caring, knowledgeable and my kids love them. To me, that's all that matters. My 3 kids have all attended here for 10, 8 and 4 years. They have always been safe and happy here. We have also had numerous birthday parties here too! On hot days we take morning classes or I send them with ice water, or they cancel the class and we make it up later. On cold days the gym has the heater on and my kids wear an extra layer, that they shed during class. This non-profit is one of the best kid centered programs for our families in town. They don't encourage competition, but just improving strength, flexibility and other crucial skills. If I sound like I'm a huge fan, I am, or we wouldn't be here several times a week. We keep coming back became my kids love the coaches. Anna, Chris, Mariah, Christine to just name a few.

I encounter nice people, very little bad language, especially considering it usually a town of young people, lots of interesting restaurants and stores, easy distance from Sacramento and San Francisco, good theater and concert venues, several movie theaters for such a small town, a good selection of motels, car rentals and basic amenities. The weather gets pretty hot in the summer but now in June it's just perfect to me. Lake Tahoe and Reno are not that far, there are small shopping centers in town and larger ones within a half hour drive. And it's a really pretty town to drive around in. About the only thing it's missing is the ocean! I'll be sorry if my daughter moves away from this area because then I won't have an excuse to visit here and it's pretty far from San Diego to travel to without a strong motivation. I appreciate having the opportunity to enjoy it as much as I have though.

I think it's kinda pricey cause a season pass to raging waters is cheaper than that. I ended up having to come back and told them how they messed up, they were able to fix the problem and enrolled them in the right class. They were pretty nice about everything too. They offer a variety of classes for kids and adults during the summer and the prices are very reasonable. From sports, cooking, yoga, and kid quest..they have almost everything! Many fun activities to enjoy during the summer.

As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum, I want to share our experience at Planet Gymnastics…read moreso other families are aware. Before enrolling my child in their Ninja class, I called ahead and was completely transparent that my child is autistic. I specifically asked if that would be an issue and if he would be welcome in the class. I was reassured that he absolutely would be. We attended a trial class and my child had a great time. Like many beginners trying something new, he needed help learning the technical movements, but he listened, followed directions, and tried hard. After the class, I spoke directly with the instructor and asked very clearly if my child would be a good fit before enrolling. I was told yes -- that he listened well and simply needed help with some of the technical skills. Then before the next class, I received a phone call from Planet Gymnastics saying they wanted my child to complete another "trial" specifically because he is autistic to make sure he was a good fit. This was surprising and upsetting since we had already discussed his diagnosis and he had already been approved for the class. We still attended the next class. There were only three students in the class, and like many beginners, my child needed the instructor to demonstrate the movements and guide him through them. He participated appropriately and tried his best. After the class, the instructor told me he had "misspoken" the week before and that my child required too much attention. I was then told my child might be a "safety concern," even though he demonstrated no unsafe behavior during either class. The only alternative they offered was a class for children with disabilities at 3:00 PM -- the exact time my child gets out of school, making it impossible for him to attend. What was most concerning was how quickly my child was singled out because of his autism after I had already been open about it from the very beginning. Instead of evaluating him as a beginner learning a new activity, it felt like assumptions were made based on his diagnosis. My child followed directions, tried hard, and simply needed help learning the skills -- which is exactly what instructors are there to teach. Children with autism deserve the same opportunities to participate in community activities alongside their peers. Families should not be told their child is welcome, encouraged to enroll, and then later treated differently because of a diagnosis that was disclosed from the start. I hope Planet Gymnastics reflects on how this situation was handled and works toward better understanding and inclusion for neurodivergent children and their families.

I have got to give Pacific Edge some love! When Kindergarten appeared to be overwhelming my…read moredaughter ("Dad...It's EVERY DAY?!") she asked me about gymnastics, and her work-outs here have become the highlight of her school week. I admit I browsed the mixed reviews here and had my own doubts, and I also sent an email that never got responded to, but this gym deserves a ton of credit, and here are the reasons: For starters, it is a sprawling, well-organized facility divided strategically for toddlers/beginners, advanced, and parental spectators (me). I was really surprised at how big this place was, as you couldn't tell from the outside. To get enrolled, check out their website, or I wish I had just gone in-person from the start to see the gym and ask my questions. Basically, there is a $100 enrollment fee, granting access to their portal to register for classes. They also have their own mobile app to do this. The classes are organized by date, time, and age/ability level - and limited in size. For my 5-year old, the max class size is 5 students, and while that can make it tough if your time slot is filled, it's ideal so the instructor can give your child more attention. Our daughter's coach is great! Giving her a mix of fun, encouragement, and discipline all at the same time. We're not expecting her to become Simone Biles overnight lol, and we're not sure how long this gymnastics phase will last, but it is a joy to see her try new techniques and find pride in her own accomplishments. Thank you, PESA!

That room would not be available until 3:30 and we were pushed to leave promptly at 4:30. This policy of 1 hour of playtime for the kids in the gym and 1 hour in the party room was NOT communicated to my sister throughout the booking process. Even if this policy is adopted by other places, it was NOT made clear and expectations were NOT established. We arrived at 2:30 with all the food and decorations ready but were expected to wait an hour before setting up. The parents of the kids that came were forced to loiter around the gym area since there was no place for them to sit. Once we did have the room we had to rush to set up, rush to get everyone to eat, rush to eat the cake, and there was no time for presents. My sister would NOT have booked here if this policy had been made known to her. In effect, we were given 50% of what was expected, which was 2 hours in the birthday room and playing in the gym SIMULTANEOUSLY. This whole ordeal caused my sister a lot of stress and I believe a 50% refund is in order. I will be posting this experience on all sites and communicating with your staff until this has been made right. UPDATE: they responded to my review on Google with agreeing to refund my sister the 50% but they have since deleted the review.
