As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum, I want to share our experience at Planet Gymnastics so other families are aware. Before enrolling my child in their Ninja class, I called ahead and was completely transparent that my child is autistic. I specifically asked if that would be an issue and if he would be welcome in the class. I was reassured that he absolutely would be. We attended a trial class and my child had a great time. Like many beginners trying something new, he needed help learning the technical movements, but he listened, followed directions, and tried hard. After the class, I spoke directly with the instructor and asked very clearly if my child would be a good fit before enrolling. I was told yes -- that he listened well and simply needed help with some of the technical skills. Then before the next class, I received a phone call from Planet Gymnastics saying they wanted my child to complete another "trial" specifically because he is autistic to make sure he was a good fit. This was surprising and upsetting since we had already discussed his diagnosis and he had already been approved for the class. We still attended the next class. There were only three students in the class, and like many beginners, my child needed the instructor to demonstrate the movements and guide him through them. He participated appropriately and tried his best. After the class, the instructor told me he had "misspoken" the week before and that my child required too much attention. I was then told my child might be a "safety concern," even though he demonstrated no unsafe behavior during either class. The only alternative they offered was a class for children with disabilities at 3:00 PM -- the exact time my child gets out of school, making it impossible for him to attend. What was most concerning was how quickly my child was singled out because of his autism after I had already been open about it from the very beginning. Instead of evaluating him as a beginner learning a new activity, it felt like assumptions were made based on his diagnosis. My child followed directions, tried hard, and simply needed help learning the skills -- which is exactly what instructors are there to teach. Children with autism deserve the same opportunities to participate in community activities alongside their peers. Families should not be told their child is welcome, encouraged to enroll, and then later treated differently because of a diagnosis that was disclosed from the start. I hope Planet Gymnastics reflects on how this situation was handled and works toward better understanding and inclusion for neurodivergent children and their families. read more

Cannot recommend for younger children. You're just paying for your kids to free-play on an indoor playground for 90% of the time with no instructor paying attention or interacting with kids. For the other 10% of the time, the instructor turns on an iPod and you copy what the song says. Just go to the park with a music player and follow the songs instructions. Just saved you $100. You're welcome. That being said, in all fairness I cannot speak for the older children classes. Just don't waste your money if your kid is under 4. I have other friends with toddlers that go to other gyms with more structured courses to actually develop your child. read more

We had a trial day today.... But mind you we also had trial days at other gyms..... today we made the pick to stick with Planet Gymnastics. The coaches were really hands on and making sure every kid was doing it right! Very clean and sanitary. They also make sure the kids sanitize their hands before entering the gym floor. The parents waiting room is a little small and crowded but the parents there understands the assignment, and make sure it is calm in the waiting room. Parents walk outside to pick up phone calls and have respect for other parents and personal space.... We are now members of Planet Gymnastics! Thank you! So glad I found this gym. read more

This place is a little old but it really is a good place to hold a kid (4-8) birthday party. We came here specifically for a 4 year old birthday party of my son's friend. I have never of heard of this place until the party, which was really a cool place to go to. The kids go into a pretty big gym room and the parents are outside in another room but can look in from the big window. The offer ninja warrior type classes there when I was looking at their activities available. There was two instructors there leading the children though the course. After the play time, the children were brought to a good size room to have their snacks and sing happy birthday to the birthday boy. I would say it would fit about 20 (4-5 y/o) and maybe 15 (6-8 y/o) Overall experience is a good one if you want a fun place to celebrate your kids birthday instead of a bounce house. Unless the bounce house, you can bring your own food which I like. read more

Finally got my daughter in for a trial class after 4 months! She seemed to really enjoy herself so we will be trying the gym stars class 3.5-4.5 years old. Our teacher was Ms. MEG. she was patient and kind and the class sizes are a pretty intimate (6-8 kids per teacher). One thing that would have been a nicer touch - I wish the front desk would have offered an combine all the charges at the end to consolidate the cc fee. One fee to charge the trial. Another fee for the next class. $5 extra (not a deal breaker but would have been a nicer touch). read more

We have visited Planet Gymnastics for birthday parties before and today, we were here for a "trial" for Ninja class. ($10) Staff at the front desk was very informative about the schedules and fees for the program. There were three classes going on at once with multiple assigned instructors and I was very pleasant to see the kids following the rules and having fun at the same time. The parents/ guardians are seated in the waiting/ viewing room. Kids get two water breaks between 50 minute session. Well... we signed up for the membership! Lol One time $40 annual membership + $35 Ninja T shirt (required) + monthly due $90 (once a week class) We are very excited to be here once a week. read more

The transition between classes is a little hectic and the area small but it doesn't take away from the quality of the services being provided. I would suggest possibly giving a 5-10 minute transition time between classes to allow for students to exit and enter. I am highly recommending!! My son has been coming here for a month, and so far it's been an absolute saving grace in terms of getting out some pent up wiggles. The instructors are patient and fantastic and the facility is exactly what you'd hope for - basically a big room full of gym equipment for kids. My son is part of a class with two other children and he loves it. They go through a lot of basic exercises, but perhaps more important is that he is always moving, always pushing his limits and skill sets. Chloe is his instructor and she is caring and sweet with the kids. I also have to genuinely applaud them for the safety measures they've taken during COVID-19. Temp checks at the front desk, face masks for adults while you wait and watch your children and sanitization between classes. Front to back, it feels like a completely safe experience. I can update this after he has some time to progress, but for now I'm happy he has an outlet to socialize and play. read more

I come here every Monday with the baby I nanny. Our coach is Ms Megan, and she's always such a fun, and happy person around the kids. We always enjoy classes with her in the mornings and definitely recommend her. The place has two gym, a small and a big gym which the kids have time to play in both. It seems very sanitized and clean, but there are classes that come right after the other. The classes are a big stretch between ages, but there's a lot of things to do for everyone. read more

Highly recommend local, small business Planet Gymnastics! My sons love all aspects of this spot! The trial process, joining the waitlist, and officially enrolling was absolutely seamless. Katie in the front office is extremely kind and patient in answering questions and accommodating families. Emails and phone calls are responded to promptly and with such consideration. My kids are currently age 4 and age 7, so the different leveled programs, activities, and coaches are perfect for their capabilities and interest levels. We love and are so appreciative for Coach Chloe, Coach Ellie, Coach Chris, and Coach Isabella. You can tell the coaching staff is close, and work together well to provide the best experience for all gymnasts. My youngest son loves Planet Gymnastics so much that he begged for a birthday party this last August. Again, the front office was wildly thoughtful in scheduling the party last minute with the date and time we needed. Coach Chloe and Coach Ellie hosted such a wonderful birthday party offering to help with everything! Kids of all ages 1-8 didn't want to leave the celebration because they had a ball with the provided circuits and free play in the gym. This place is fine, but it feels like a puppy mill. The customer service is poor, and the coaches don't engage at all with the parents. I care about my kiddo and how she's doing. A little communication would go a long way. Won't be returning. read more

I have been taking my child there for over six months and he really enjoys it. He loves the free play in the large gym and getting to run around in the fishy room. I took my 8 month old for a trial class for $10. We started in the main gym with all the other ages and moved to a smaller private room for the Tiny Tumblers (8mos-3.5 yrs) to run around freely. The room has a good variety of different gym equipment. This is an unstructured class, which they do say at the beginning. I may go back once she is a but older, walking and can understand the things going on in circle time. Screw a mosh pit, I'm all about the sponge pit! My nephew had his 3rd birthday here and what a great time the little love bugs had! Me included, being able to pretend I was 5 years old again and jump into the sponge pit, jump on the tumbling trampoline, and run amuck in a huge room with many foreign objects. The two "coaches" who were staffing the party were absolutely amazing with these little kids. They took time to speak to the kids genuinely and very kindly. Two things I would want for a kids party (if they were mine) is cleanliness and kind hearted staff, which is exactly what this place offered. The gymnastics area was very well kept and clean. The staff was efficient, but made sure the kids were having a great time. They served the pizza and food to the kids, they even cut and served the cake. Young as they were, they were very professional. The painted walls give it a homey vibe, a place that doesn't feel threatening for the kids! I'm by no means a kids expert, but I think they know what's going on & they give off a great local vibe! Be careful, it's kind of hidden. It's the building across the street from the Valero (and Vick's), but the entrance is in the parking lot. We LOVE Planet Gymnastics! (And no, we're not being compensated for saying that.) My daughter has been taking classes at Planet Gymnastics since she was five years old. It's left her fit, happy, and full of self-confidence. The instructors are friendly, cheerful, and really get to know each kid as an individual. They build on the kids' strengths and help them overcome weaknesses. Planet Gymnastics is ideal if you're primarily looking after your kiddo's fitness and happiness. It is NOT a harsh, performance-oriented, Olympics-or-die gym; no one is ever "punished" or sidelined if they're still struggling with a particular skill. At the same time, the staff are always approachable and completely supportive of kids who seek to excel. Planet Gymnastics also hosts periodic events, such as sleepovers, which cost a bit extra. My kiddo LIVES for these events. She comes home exhausted and thrilled (and stuffed with pizza). Just walking in the door of Planet Gymnastics makes my daughter giddy and bouncy. we waited a year on waiting list because of all the good reviews only to be met with teenagers who have constant scowls an office teenager who leaves early ever day and teachers who are uninterested and spend more time tugging at their shorts and fixing there hair then interacting with the kids . it's heartbreaking to watch my kid be the only one happy to be there we are looking into alternatives. but what a waist of time . if you have a child who actually wants to learn and have a gymnastics experience do not waste your time here. if you just want to be able to be on your phone for an hour uninterrupted while your kids is running a much with these teens who hate their lives I guess this will work for you lol. read more

(yes I am aware of office hours) -no one ever called me back...ever. -tried sending a message through "contact us"....didn't work. We have been at PG since my daughter was 3 years old...5 years later she's competing at Level 2 and loving every minute! Annette has been her favorite coach from the beginning, and continues to teach,coach and her encourage her. We love it here and hope their fundraising efforts pay off so more advanced equipment can be installed so our daughter can continue her gymnastics here for any more years. My only criticism is I wish we could have gotten I to the room sooner. They kept the front door locked until 15 minutes before my party started. My kid loves this place. We have been coming for over a year. She started in Tiny Tumblers. That class was pretty much free play on the fun equipment in the gym. There was a structured warm up and cool down time. Parents have to stay with their kids in the class. Now she is in Gym Stars (3.5-4.5years). This class is much more structured, with no free play time. It's great practice for memory, waiting your turn, following directions, and lots of coordination and balance practice. She has a great time! Gia and Chloe are great instructors. We also had her 3rd bday party here and it was really easy and fun for the kids. read more

Kids seem like they are enjoying themselves doing actual gymnastics. Parking is tight. Go early but not too early. The single bathroom looks like a future crime scene. The waiting area is horrid. It goes from quiet and calm to insanely loud with kids everywhere. Most parents watch their kids. Def a few that let their little snowflakes jump and yell. Why more kids don't get nailed by the gym entry door from playing behind it remains unclear to me. read more

The focus seems to be on having fun, getting exercise, listening, and self-improvement. Also love that they do a monthly parents night out where you can drop off your child for $30 from 6:30 to 10:00 while you get a date night with your significant other. My kids went to gymnastics classes here for about eight months. They liked it while they were there and the teachers were kind to them. The owner, however, picks favorites and walks around the place with attitude. My daughter turned six in the middle of summer session so they suggested she move up to the next level at the beginning of the August session. But the first day they put her in class with the four year olds. No one seemed to notice she was two heads taller than the other kids and after five or ten minutes my husband had to go to the office and ask if they made a mistake. When we arrived the next week, they asked ME what class she was supposed to be in. I was beginning to realize the magnitude of their disorganization. And then came the straw that broke this camel's back -they made a clerical error and couldn't find my payment and left me an extremely rude message on my voicemail.
