The saleslady assisting us was very nice and patient. Adam must've tried on at least 2-3 different shirts and more than 5 ties. She was also nice enough to steam the shirt before wrapping it up. They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.

Further back you'll find clothing - men's is on the upper level and women's on the lower. They've also got a killer jewellery section (which is where I've found myself most often drooling over the rings and earrings). I never look closely at the clothing because I don't want to tempt myself (out of my price range), but just glancing at the racks I and tell there are a lot of cute things that I hear are really great quality. From the little bit of browsing I've done the sizes are all pretty small...whomp whomp. In the men's section you'll find wallets, shave kits and some really fun socks in addition to the standard clothing fare. It might be a little smaller than other UO you've been into, but since it's downtown on Barrington I think they were able to scored a large feeling retail space. Today was opening day so the staff was really friendly, and a little chaotic, but that's understandable. I'm sure in a couple weeks it will clam down.

The Lost Cod is a fantastic idea for Halifax, and it could work in any city. The logos from old Halifax and Nova Scotia companies are freshened up and can be applied to shirts and hoodies. The price is reasonable, the clothing's good quality, and the worst part is that you can't fit all of the old-timey business logos on just one shirt.

Although I did wish they had a few more V necks to choose from. I went to the shop that was on the Harbourfront Boardwalk, i'd love to check out their Queen's Landing location someday too. Most of the dresses there were in the $200-400 range and the quality just wasn't there. There was only really one small room with dresses. The change rooms felt larger than the dress room. Most of the dresses had very thin fabrics and it was obvious they were quickly and cheaply made factory style. Which is fine for some brides, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Other bridal shops had much better quality dresses that were in the $800 range then reduced to around $300.
