The atmosphere feels grand and almost surreal -- high ceilings, intricate hand-crafted details, beautiful paintings, and original interiors that have been preserved so carefully. Walking through the rooms feels like stepping back in time. The closets, bathrooms, and living spaces are all still there, untouched, which makes the experience even more special. One detail that really surprised me was the shoes -- they were incredibly tiny, almost like doll shoes. It's amazing to see how different things were back then. On my recent visit, I noticed they opened a new section on the second floor that I hadn't seen before. It's a mix of contemporary art and historical fashion elements -- including clothing details, vintage shoe boxes, and personal items from the original residents. I especially loved the miniature handbags and a wall art piece featuring delicate gloves -- so small, elegant, and made from very fine leather. There are so many unique details to take in. There's also a gift shop on the first floor with a great selection -- we even picked up a Monopoly game themed around the museum, which was such a fun find. They also have books, coloring items, posters, jewelry, accessories, and even small unique souvenirs -- something for everyone. Another highlight is the separate glass building . They recently opened a café there that serves breakfast on weekends. The view is stunning -- overlooking the water with the historic train nearby. The space is bright, clean and very peaceful. The only inconvenience I experienced was when my kids were younger -- strollers are not allowed inside, so keep that in mind if you're visiting with small children. It's a huge mansion from the Gilded Age. Most of the furnishing thing inside are original to the property. Our tour guide Joe was exceptionally knowledgeable. It's a long walk through the mansion, so I'll be prepared to walk and walk and walk. But I highly recommend the experience. The one drawback I would have to say is it's a bit pricey to get in $36 for a ticket, Seems like a lot of money. And no senior citizen discount at all, which I didn't appreciate.

Parking is across the street and you pay using the Pay by phone app. There are a variety of galleries featuring contemporary art, modern art, Asian art, photography, and rotating special exhibitions. My favorite collections were the Asian Art galleries and the special exhibition highlighting the work and recognition of women artists throughout history. One of the most surprising parts of the visit was the student exhibition featuring artwork created by middle and high school students. The level of talent on display was truly impressive. If you're in Palm Beach County, now is a great time to visit since the museum is currently offering free admission to county residents on Saturdays. Whether you're an art enthusiast or just looking for a cultural outing, I highly recommend checking it out.

Kept hoping they would fire up the popcorn machine & tap the keg. Ty the owner is a laid-back Jimmy Buffet type, one of those "I never 'worked' a day in my life" guys! Winthrop Rockefeller opened one in 1964 @ his estate on Mt. Petit Jean, Morrilton, AR. It has been a popular attraction for more than 50 years. We were greeted and welcomed by Nick and Dianne. Dianne provided us with an in depth, detailed and informative guided tour of the gallery. Dianne explained and shared her vast knowledge and her passion for history which was evident in her storytelling and interpretation of historical information presented. Admission is free.

There was a $12 charge for this special exhibit. The docent walked us through the exhibit and shared a tremendous amount of background and information, she clearly has a passion for the museum. The museum hosts many History Talks throughout the year as well as permanent and special collections. There is plenty of metered on street parking nearby. The Historical Society of Palm Beach County is a hidden gem.

The Palm Beach Photographic Center is a non profit formed in 1986 by Art & Fatima NeJame to enrich…read morelife with the photographic arts. They operate a school, camera shop, and museum. The school offers over 300 digital and photography workshops in a state-of-the-art digital MAC labs, multiple class rooms and a large photography studio. They also offer workshops abroad. Their pro camera shop offers equipment and advice. Museum entrance is by donation and it hosts photography exhibition throughout the year. In 1997 the PBPC started the program Picture My World to help at risk youth in the community by introducing them to photography and journaling. If you have ever checked out my Yelp profile you already know I love photography so I was especially delighted to discover this free museum on Clematis Street. The current exhibit is the 26th Annual Members' Juried Exhibition featuring photographs from PBPC members. There were landscapes and portraits but my favorite were the birds. Best of show was an amazing shot of a Red Shouldered Hawk. I definitely got inspired by this exhibit. Hurry over before it closes on October 29th.

The docent explains the memorabilia displayed in this building, & details what you will see on the Palm Beach Maritime Museum #2 (consisting of a Boathouse & Barracks) & the JFK Bunker from the Bay of Pigs era ~ if you purchase the 3-part VIP Tour. Currently there is a Groupon available. Note that this attraction is Open Thursday - Sunday 11a-4p, & the last water taxi departs from Peanut Island Park @ 5pm. The water taxi begins running @ 10am so you can also enjoy the beautiful 80-acre Park, completed in 2005, which features:: Campsites, a Pier, a Manmade Reef, a Picnic & Swimming / Snorkeling Beach surrounded by a beautiful lagoon. Then we walked through the 1st floor of the Cape Cod-style house, consisting of the Kitchen & Dining areas, Radio Room, & Barracks. Memorabilia is everywhere. It has been maintained as it was when it was an active duty station for the Coast Guard. The much-anticipated JFK Bunker tour was next ~ about 15 minutes. Yes we did go inside, & it was phenomenal! I anticipate that President Trump will tour it soon & the media coverage will spread the word to the masses. Guide Karey was excellent! This is a review of Currie Park. The park has the potential to be very nice. However there are many…read morehomeless here, and it is run down. Shelters are unusable by the public because there are homeless living in each of them. We walked the park in the daytime and were not bothered but would not want my children to come here alone, they are older teens and young twenties. Husband walked here in the early morning and tried to use the restroom but decided not to when, once again, it had many homeless living there. Does WPB have the facilities to help the homeless? I would think so.
