Good swimming lessons, now my son knows how to swim , now I don't have to worry about him drowning

I attended Swim Resolution as an adult for a number of months. I got to see a number of the kids classes as they were wrapping up as the adult class is getting started on Tuesday nights. I did notice that the instructors are great with kids but parents often had the belief that the sole responsibility for the learning was the instructor. If the kid doesn't want to do more, there is not much the instructor can do, especially if the parents don't force the kids to see it as a lesson, not just another activity. You cannot force someone to learn. As for the adult instruction, I found it helpful and the coaches were very knowledgeable. I did plateau a couple of times and I do wish there was a mechanism for the coaches to be more pro-active when you hit a road block. The reason is clear, the whole vibe is to not push as there are people with a wide range of fears and needs regarding the water. I just wish I and/or they were more on top of those moments. The coaches were very helpful and explained how the mechanisms worked in practice. They created new ways to work on various strokes to help with muscle memory. I would recommend the adult classes for any adult at any level looking to learn, ranging from overcoming the fear of the water to those working to perfect their technique. I do agree with the parents that the cost is barrier as it was on the high end of classes when I started and they then raised the prices again. I would suggest that they look at prices of their competitors as I stuck with them because I liked the coaches, not the cost. read more

This place was very well run and so much better before the new management took over about a year ago. Now, it is a complete train wreck. If your child needs consistency, don't count on it. Coaches come and go and don't seem very well trained in much other than helping a young child get comfortable in the water. There are a few really good instructors and a child is very lucky if he/she happens to be assigned to one of them. It's very expensive and definitely not worth it. Check out other swim centers before deciding to spend your fortune here. read more

We had out daughter here for nearly three years, and they really never got her to swimming without a vest. I think their classes for 2-3 year olds were good, but at some point she just stopped progressing, even regressing. We decided -- along with our friend we did classes with -- to move our daughter to a different place that visits in our pool. I'm not sure if its the methodology or just the instructor we've had for the past few months. I tried talking to the instructor but nothing changed, and the school doesn't do any oversight of the instructors. Surely someone must have noticed that Genevieve wasn't progressing other than the instructor. I just don't think the management cared to try to help the instructor, so now we'll go elsewhere. Too bad. There should be more oversight of the instructors to ensure that children are progressing. read more

We tried swim revolution for a few months. The instructor for my son was friendly and he was always excited to attend class. This location is ideal for families in the Smyrna/Vinings area, but there were other factor that drove our decision to leave. The main reason is that I felt this program was not challenging enough, especially for the cost. Call me old school, but I really needed them to drive home survival skills in the water quickly. After six months, my son was still wearing a flotation device and never really learned to swim. I recall speaking to another parent at the time, and he shared with me it took his son an entire year to lose the flotation device. Yeah, we didn't have that kind of time, so we left. We are trying a new swim facility in the area....so fingers crossed we get the results we are looking for. read more

We have been at Swim Revolution for several months. They have taken my water loving 4 year old from a short doggie paddle to swimming across the pool. I've seen how great they are with fearful kids too-so much patience and fun games! I love that I can access my daughter's online account to see which skills she's currently working on. read more

We have been bringing our toddler here for almost a year. He started with Coach Gina and is now in classes on his own with Coach Jay. I think this is one of the best things that we could have done for him. He has no fear of water and they have taught him the love of swimming. He's now asked to go to the beach but alas, we're in a landlocked city so that'll be a planned trip. In Parent and Me classes, they introduce your infant to 2 1/2 year old to the water. The coach sings familiar nursery rhymes as you dunk your startled baby into the water. These classes work with starting to kick and orienting your child to the water and preparing them for an accidental fall in water. Roll over, roll over! Next is Level 1, this is from 2 1/2 - 5. We're getting into the meat of it, blowing bubbles, holding head under water, and look you get to use the noodle! My kid enjoys it and it looks like the bigger kids enjoy it as well. If you want your child to learn to swim, bring them here. The sooner the better. They are also extremely busy so if you're trying to sign up for the summer, good luck! read more

Just ok. My daughter has been at Swim Revolution for almost a year. At first, I loved it but she has had 7 instructors in less than a year in the same time slot. Most of the instructors are very young. So you may ask, why do I stay? It's 5 minutes from where I live and they have 6:30pm classes. So as a working mom, sometimes convenience trumps performance. Also, my daughter takes lessons with a classmate, so she really enjoys it. On one hand, that's what counts most. On the other hand for $140/month, I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. Smh! Pros: - location - easy access to 285 - friendly staff - easy to schedule make-up lessons Cons: - Price - After a year my child is still on level 1 - High turnover (July 2015 - May 2016) - Small bathroom that often smells like mildew My recommendation: If this location is convenient to where you live, give it a try. But if you live close to a Cobb County Swim location, you'll get much more value (more seasoned instructors and more results oriented approach) than at SR. read more

THis place is awesome. my son actually listened to the instructors and looked forward to his swim classes. He only had swim lessons for a few months, but he's gained so much from the short time he spent at swim revolutioin. we will be back when he is a little older. read more

We took parent and me classes at swim revolution. The girls were fantastic. So sweet. I cant comment on swim lessons for older kids but the babies have the opportunity to get used to going under water while also in an interactive and fun environment with singing etc. The only thing I would say is at 6 or so months of age theres not much swimming skill that can be taught. We did a month and learned a lot, but we will be practicing what we learned and return when hes slightly older. read more

We bring our 15-month-old twins here once a week for the Baby & Me classes with Gina. They absolutely LOVE them and we've noticed a significant increase with their comfort in water and even taking baths. Both girls go underwater and lean into the pool from the sitting position after only a few lessons. Gina is amazing and sings songs and plays fun games the whole time that really keeps their interest and develops their love for the water. I would recommend for anyone with a baby who wants them to get used to the water before going to the pool this summer. The only downside is they are currently renovating the bathrooms, so they are closed and you have to plan ahead. read more

Our son has been going to The Swim Revolution since he was just a year old in the parent and me class. He is now almost three in the Level 1 class and has been with the same coach from the start. I cannot say enough good things about The Swim Revolution! My 3 year old started lessons in May and is already swimming without a float. They have a unique approach that provides individual attention and a little healthy competition at the same time. All of the coaches are amazing (but especially ours). We LOVE Coach Jeff and Coach Maggie. They are fantastic. Coach Maggie is our daughter's coach now and we love her teaching style. She's truly engaged and committed to help your child. The monthly cost is high (thus the 4 versus 5 stars), but that's the premium I guess you have to pay to get the type of instruction you'd expect your child to receive, unfortunately. read more
