Upon arrival, I was asked whether the private instructor had reached out to confirm the lesson. I explained that they had not and even asked whether that was part of their normal protocol. I was told that it was not. Based on that information, I proceeded to get my child changed and prepared for the lesson. After my child was changed and ready, I was then informed that the instructor had to leave due to an emergency. While I completely understand that emergencies happen, the issue was the lack of communication. I should have been notified before driving 45 minutes to the facility and getting my child ready for a lesson that was ultimately canceled. What was even more disappointing was that there was no follow-up communication or effort to address the inconvenience after the canceled lesson. The entire experience was extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. I would not recommend this location. If you value your time and expect basic communication and professionalism, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere.

We've attended two classes for our child and thus far everything is going great. There are family changing rooms to get young kids changed and there are also stalls to use to change. The pool is kept at 90 degrees and the room itself is very warm too. The pool is surrounded by glass walls (like a fish bowl) and chairs so you can sit in a room that's not so hot and watch your kid. The woman overseeing the party area was incredibly rude and confrontational with us throughout the party. Our guests obviously didn't all arrive at the exact same time, so some kids were swimming while others were getting food. We made sure the kids dried off before coming into the eating area, but she repeatedly became upset with us and insisted that the children needed to either ALL be swimming or ALL be eating and could not go back and forth between the pool and party area. It made what should have been a fun, relaxed birthday party feel stressful from the beginning. The most upsetting part involved one of our 11-year-old guests, who wears pants while swimming for religious reasons. She made him get out of the pool because his pants had pockets and told us they were a safety concern because they could "weigh his legs down." We explained that this is how he regularly swims, that he was comfortable and capable in the water, and that this attire was important to him. Instead of handling the situation discreetly and respectfully, it turned into roughly 15 minutes of back and forth while this poor child stood there embarrassed and uncomfortable. My daughter became so upset seeing her friend excluded from her birthday party that she started crying because she felt terrible that he couldn't participate. We eventually got the situation resolved and he was allowed back in, but by then the damage was done. A child should never be made to feel singled out or embarrassed like that, especially over something connected to his religious practices. The entire experience was so uncomfortable that we actually chose to leave before our reserved party time was even over because we were simply done dealing with the hostility. I completely understand that a public pool needs rules, especially when it comes to safety. What I do not understand is why those rules couldn't have been communicated to us respectfully, reasonably, and with some compassion, especially when dealing with children. We came here to celebrate our kids' birthdays and make happy memories with their friends. Instead, we spent a large portion of the party feeling like we were being scolded and monitored, and one of our young guests was made to feel embarrassed and singled out. We will not be returning, and I would strongly encourage other parents considering a birthday party here to ask very specific questions about their party and swim policies before booking.

When we arrived (my 10 yo granddaughter & I), we went to a lap lane - I grabbed some flippers & when I returned she had jumped into the lane in front of us. When I asked her to move over to share she said "I'm not swimming with a man." So I asked my granddaughter to move into another lane & I would share with Ellen. She tried to bully me & say she wouldn't share the lane. I talked to staff who explained to her that the rules ARE to share if crowded. Other guests said she regularly bullies them. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Thanks to staff for trying to address it (she moved over but pushed someone out of their lane) - but it seems a Manager needs to stop her intimidating other guests. Thanks!

My three year…read moreold went from playing on the top step of the pool to jumping in full force and swimming to the stairs in just one week. He not only learned how to survive and swim in the water, he learned to love the water. Now he wants a pool in our backyard. ISR are ten minute swim lessons everyday for up to six weeks. Ten minutes doesn't sound very long, but the kids get tired. They are being instructed the entire ten minutes. The instructor, Mr Mike, is phenomenal with the kids. He gets down to business from the second they enter the pool until the end of the lesson. He is a professional swim teacher and not just a someone who was on swim team in the past teaching swim lessons. Your kid will learn to float/swim, guaranteed. My 22 month old learned to float/swim from the middle of the pool to out of the pool by the 4th week or so. Before we started I was a little nervous about how Mr. Mike was going to teach my baby to hold his breath underwater and flip to his back to float. I was pretty sure my baby was not going to understand the directions given to him or handle the lessons well. He screamed for the entire first week of lessons (Mr. Mike is used to screaming kids and handles it very well), but he made it to the end of the six weeks floating/swimming to safety. The whole process is pretty fascinating to watch. And seeing your child increase their skills and confidence in the water each day is extremely rewarding. ISR was definitely the best way to get my apprehensive children comfortable and confident in the water. This will be our fourth year with Mr. Mike. Our first graduated out of the program swimming like a fish, our second is having a 2 week refresher course, and our third will be starting his first lesson in June. Mr. Mike teaches from his home in dunwoody. He has an outdoor and small indoor pool and teaches year round. He teaches kids from 6 months to 6 years and offers two week refresher courses after the first year.

I went to a Montessori perschool and wanted our daughter to have that experience.Having multiple age ranges in a class benefits all the students for different reasons. I think Montessori method with student driven learning is wonderful for curious children. The student to teacher ration is 10 or 11 to 1 with 3 teachers per class. I love that this school is willing to push the kids to the extent each child is willing academically. Our daughter had been home schooled/cared for by close friends for years and was well beyond the PreK curriculum before even starting. The next year, when our daughter was assessed for kindergarten in a Cobb County public school, she scored high and was placed in a more rigorous class which pleased us. The teachers and staff also assist with social learning. Our daughter was a bit behind the others socially; most of whom had been in daycare or this school versus home care/school and were well socialized. Teachers and staff worked with my daughter and my husband and I and kept us updated. Also, my daughter is being raised as a Jehovah's Witness which posses unique challenges around birthdays and holidays. The staff was understanding, accommodating, and had a willingness to learn, understand and work with our daughter and us that astonished us. I have never worked with a more flexible and helpful staff. The Director and Assistant Director were almost always there, unless I'll. We had several tours including just stopping in. Montessori schools do not put their monies into beautification; they put it into hiring and educating exceptional teachers and staff. Please remember that when you tour. They treat the children and parents with love and respect. We were completely impressed with them.
