I had the peanut butter chocolate slice and it was huge, not to mention super tasty. I had to share it with a friend though cos it was too massive for me to finish in one seating. The cupcakes looked amazing and we saw the waffles with ice-cream being prepared and for $10, it was an enormous serving. I had to try the red velvet latte which I had with almond milk and it was smooth, delicate and absolutely to die for. I have a feeling that this is going to be a weekly treat for me. Service was super friendly and helpful. They didn't have a high chair so they grabbed one from Charlie's. They share the same owner after all. If you're in the area, this is a must-try. No regrets, I promise!

It annoyed me because I loved the brownies but hated feeling like I was being ripped off. The last time I went in (I was going weekly, as a treat) I got a small cut brownie with little icing AND it was burnt! I was already half way home so i didn't do anything about it. I've just decided I'll not be going as often :( which makes me sad :'( they do make amazing vanilla slices too (although size may change sometimes)! And their pies and sausage rolls are always a hit!

No, I'm not five years old, but every time I pass a cupcake place, I definitely act like one. Generally, I almost throw a tantrum, as cupcakes are ALWAYS overpriced. But for a good reason here - they are just that darn tasty, they could charge millions for them and I'd still buy them (well...after I've taken out a loan). Snickers, Mars Bars, red velvet, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate fudge, strawberries and cream, cookies and cream, passionfruit and cherry flavoured cupcakes. And they're huge. The actual muffin itself is moist, and quite small, but the icing more than makes up for that. Literally doubling the size of the whole cupcake. If you make the tough decision to only buy one, and not the whole shop, then definitely grab the Cookie Monster. It must have been all of that cookie eating in his life which has made him delightfully tasty!

As a family run business, the service reflects this. It's not too much trouble, as other Yelpers have mentioned, for the team to help you carry your shopping to the car. You get a choice of bag or box and there's a small section at the front of the store perfect for stocking up on slightly blemished produce for smoothies or juice. I most recently bought a bag of pineapples for $5 that have been well used in smoothies this week and even a chicken dish for dinner. There's also a small area for organic and gluten free flours, coconut oils, yoghurts, cheeses etc. All in all Charlie's is a one-stop shop and great for a weekly produce shop or for the one-off "I've run out of..." type of stop in. If you're not keen on driving to Everton Park, they also have online ordering with a flat $5 delivery.

After being on the road traveling for close to two months, I had gotten used to eating what was cheap and convenient, not taking nutrition into consideration most of the time, so I was craving some colors in my diet. Charlie's had a few fruits I'd never seen before, one of which was a Jackfruit, cut open and on display. Also available were coconuts, passion fruit, pineapples and other tropical deliciousness. There's a small selection of dairy-free cheeses, yoghurts and ice creams, as well as other vegan food options. We decided to get something to snack on from the cafe section. I chose a falafel which, after reading another user's review, I realize I should have asked if they were made that morning because it was cold (which I wasn't expecting) as well as soggy. Unless it was freshly made, I wouldn't recommend it. My sister ordered the banana "nice-cream," which was sinfully creamy and somehow still 100% dairy-free. Even the chocolate drizzle on top fooled me! We also got a few of their smoothies, all of which had the option of being organic (for an extra charge) or regular. Overall, it was a fairly pricey but deliciously healthy mini meal. There's a lot of hype to this place but I think it's well-deserved - worth a visit!

It's entirely possible we came here 5 weekends in a row! So it's fair to say this is definitely going on the list of favourite brunch places. Consistently: the food is delicious, the coffee is good (they do BOWLS!), the staff are lovely and efficient, the place is big enough that you can usually easily get a table, and there is plenty of street parking around. And it's less than a 10 minute drive from our house. Bonus. They have a range of breakfast & lunch items on the weekend - sweet, savoury, and hearty smoothies or juices - and they are open til 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, which I like because it means you can come in for a proper lunch instead of just a very late breakfast (sometimes it's just difficult to get out of the house before midday on a Sunday, you know?). They will also try to accommodate any specific dietary requirements, some are marked on the menu but if you can't see it then just ask and they'll work something out if they can. I came here with my mother on one occasion and she was happy, despite her ever-expanding range of food intolerances, so that's quite an achievement. Word of warning though - the Famish'd breakfast (basically the equivalent of a 'big breakfast' anywhere) is GIGANTIC. Order it only if you're prepared to be in a food coma for the rest of the afternoon.

Not only is it a popular local venue for young and old alike, it's actually one of the greatest places to go when you want a massive range of menu options at great concessions. You can grab a well-cooked steak, a fantastic pasta dish, a piping hot pizza or, my favourite, a divine tasting chicken schnitzel and then get dessert for a song. Did I mention the dessert was pancakes? These pancakes are hugely filling puffy dreams that become all the more dreamy with ice cream and syrup. Saving room for them is the best advice I can give because these bad boys will stretch your stomach something chronic. Just make sure you're wearing your baggy pants. I'm also not jesting when I say there is something for the young and the old. For the more mature generations there is dancing, raffles, and your classic pokies, and there is even a courtesy bus outside waiting to transport people around. For the young, this is a great venue for a beer and a laugh, a fantastic meal, live music, and a chance to have a round of pool. Become a member to sign in with ease and rack up points in a benefit system. As far as RSLs go in general, I've never been too much of a fan (they make me nervous for some reason? Go figure), but I enjoy and even look forward to the nights where we can tear our way through a huge meal and those delicious pancakes. This RSL is managed really well and there is always music or a raffle or an event going on. They always have news, social events, or events to benefit members. So go in for the food and enjoy the best of a local RSL. By the way, they have no set opening hours and say they are always open. Brilliant!
