I knew I wanted a red colour for my hair but I didn't know what would suit my skin colour and the hair dresser offered no help at all and wouldn't help me choose and just said my hair is dark so she doesn't know. The atmosphere was uninviting. I wasn't offered any drinks or anything, not even a smile. She brushed my hair harshly and washed my hair harshly. I told her I want layers she said I didn't say that and was blaming me so didn't cut my hair. She dyed my hair and now I have stains on my head that won't come out and I look ridiciulous and she told me to use lemon! Worse service ever could have done a better job myself at home!

Terrible haircut…read more I booked in for a wash, cut and curly blowdry last Friday. The lady doing my hair didn't appear to speak very much English so I simply showed her I just wanted an inch off. A couple of times I had to stop her while doing the cut as she seemed to be cutting into my hair which is very thin so doesn't need it and not what I asked for. On completion I had to ask her for a mirror as she walked off. I didn't like the styling (curls) as it wasn't what I asked for at all but didn't want to complain so I thanked her, paid and left. On returning home I straightened my hair and looked at the back in the mirror. It was completely uneven, it had random layers and chunks cut out of it and what I can only describe as a step on either side where my hair had been all one length beforehand. I was really upset and phoned the salon. I then went down there and saw the lady that did my hair run out the back of the salon. I asked the manager to look at my hair which she did and said 'I'm not a hairdresser so I don't know'. She later admitted that she said that because she had other customers in the shop at the time. Another hairdresser in there (very nice woman) looked at my hair and looked mortified. She said she could only sort out the uneven length and would need to take off OVER AN INCH on one side to get it more level. She did said she couldn't do anything about the rest of it unless I went very short. So I had to let her RAZOR off over an inch at the bottom of one side. The manager was the most dismissive and rude person I've come across in a long time. I had to ask her for an apology and for my money back. She kept making excuses saying the lady who did my hair had been a hairdresser for 14 years. I said but clearly just look at the state of my hair! In the end I just walked out, I was getting no where.

I've had facials, as well as waxing, threading, and eyelash/eyebrow tinting. I went in today for an upper lip thread and eyelash tint. Some wires were crossed and the technician thought I wanted my eyebrows threaded as well. Since they probably needed it, to be honest, I had it all done. I was in and out in 20 minutes, and spent the princely sum of £19. My eyebrows and upper lip were done super fast, and from what I can tell, were done well. I had a new person today, someone who's only been there a few weeks. I hope she stays! They do tend to have a fairly high turnover of staff. My eyelashes are fine, but it is a bit messy. The bit of skin transfer though will be mostly gone after I shower and cleanse my face tonight, so I'm not worried. It's just worth pointing out as if you were hoping to go out right afterwards, you might find you're a bit raccoon-eyed. I called today at 2pm, and was able to get an appointment at 5pm, so I can't really complain! I did have to leave a message and get called back, as they don't have a receptionist who sits at the desk all the time, but that's okay. Aanana aren't going to change your world, but they will make you look a little more polished!

Recently visited this location…read more Had a pedicure with callus treatment done and a wax. Reception was very polite and nice. The studio is clean and well maintained. Overall it was a good visit, quick and easy. Def would go back; just have been to many better. The wax room is a bit tight and could be nicer in my opinion. I wish that new sticks were used with each application of wax and there was a towel provided to cover up for the wax. Made quite an uncomfortable introduction. As we went though it; the aesthetician was very polite and made it quite easy.

Yeah took me a while to submit my review as I never intended to waste my time writing the review. Busy like most of us I just wanted to get what I can for my moneys worth and let it go. Also, they offer some free treatments in return of good online reviews - am not sure how many reviews here are honest reviews here. Am sure a lot of bad experiences doesn't get written about. Ideally practices of this salon should be inspected by some independent regulatory body or some other independent organisation or ombudsmen as the responses received of the complaints from the employees / directors and owners are not good enough and are heavily prejudiced. Here goes my bad experience: Last summer, I was looking for laser hair reduction treatments. This salon came to my attention having crazy discounts of 60% off with additional 20% off on top for the laser hair reduction packages. I got tempted and signed up for the package of 8 full facial hair reduction package for £250. (Very good deal, I guess). (In hindsight may be a catch here that a good laser reduction services can't come so cheap !) Well after my 1st laser session, when I went for 2nd session the therapist said that my hair growth is really fine and is not suitable for laser treatment and advised that the laser will infact stimulate the hair growth and I should not go ahead with any sessions. She also added that the clinic shouldn't have signed me up for the package as my hair are quite fine !! Exasperated, I asked for refund as I claimed that the clinic shouldn't have signed me up for the laser treatment package of 8 if that was the case - this sort of assessment should have been done during my consultation before signing me up. To this, I was pointed to some no refunds policy!!! The clinic instead said that they can convert my package to any other treatment package, and they advised me to go for Derma pen. They further said that as Derma pen is more expensive treatment they can only offer 4 sessions instead of 8 laser sessions I had signed up for. Well I was kinda cornered with just me on my side vs 2 on their side so I had no other option but to agree to what was offered. I had no other choice as i was already out of money and not getting it back. When I reached the clinic for my 4th Dermapen session, they asked me to pay for the session !!! It was such a big humiliation and mental harrasement. I was again cornered by 3 staff members and another one on phone claiming to resolve the dispute, which to me looked more like dishonest and disrespectful behaviour ! Am not sure if the salon has any effective dispute resolution process as it's only the employees / owners / directors I got to talk to and their responses are bound to be prejudiced or if there is an ombudsmen or a regulator where I can report the dispute. I am not really happy with the way I have been treated and the mental stress the whole experience has caused. From my experience, I would never recommend this salon to anyone. Results of dermapen - During the treatment - less pain after using emla cream After the treatment- my face had lots of swelling, looked like my skin was burnt, and was in pain The skin is supposed to have some peeling during few days after the treatment which I never got. Effect on pigmentation- negligible. I spoke to some other salons who offer derma treatments about results of the same and I was advised besides other technicalities, it also depends on the quality and quantity of lipids oil the salon uses for the treatment. Colaz use some of their own brand oils for the treatment and since I had negligible results and no peeling following treatments, it could be that quality is not that great and the quantity used during my treatments must been inadequate for such treatment. All in all very unprofessional salon. Don't waste your precious time and money

The manager Zara is downright rude, doesn't offer refunds and gives you attitude when you question things. The salon itself isn't even all that but generally it is managed very badly. Perhaps the other branches fare better but my experience here was miserable to say the least. I got conned into buying a package, only to be told later after I paid, that it's non-refundable. I do agree with Meeta G's claim about their business malpractice. Very misleading and this is the first time in my life I've ever written such a review, but there has to be transparency in any business and the way this branch is managed and how I was treated was something I have never experienced.

However, I was disappointed with the eyebrow shaping I went in for. Still well priced for basics like an upper lip and chin wax. They are hidden away in the Arcade Centre, next to the Civic Centre and opposite Nandos. Edited two years later...They burnt my face with wax and I refused to go back after they said 'oh it's only because you have sensitive skin. Put sudocream on it and it will be fine'. And I looked very stupid for my date the following night with a huge angry raw red patch by my eye. Avoid avoid avoid!!!
