I…read morego onto treatwell website and they have so much availability so I booked an appointment. I knew I wanted a red colour for my hair but I didn't know what would suit my skin colour and the hair dresser offered no help at all and wouldn't help me choose and just said my hair is dark so she doesn't know. The atmosphere was uninviting. I wasn't offered any drinks or anything, not even a smile. She brushed my hair harshly and washed my hair harshly. I told her I want layers she said I didn't say that and was blaming me so didn't cut my hair. She dyed my hair and now I have stains on my head that won't come out and I look ridiciulous and she told me to use lemon! Worse service ever could have done a better job myself at home!

Terrible haircut…read more I booked in for a wash, cut and curly blowdry last Friday. The lady doing my hair didn't appear to speak very much English so I simply showed her I just wanted an inch off. A couple of times I had to stop her while doing the cut as she seemed to be cutting into my hair which is very thin so doesn't need it and not what I asked for. On completion I had to ask her for a mirror as she walked off. I didn't like the styling (curls) as it wasn't what I asked for at all but didn't want to complain so I thanked her, paid and left. On returning home I straightened my hair and looked at the back in the mirror. It was completely uneven, it had random layers and chunks cut out of it and what I can only describe as a step on either side where my hair had been all one length beforehand. I was really upset and phoned the salon. I then went down there and saw the lady that did my hair run out the back of the salon. I asked the manager to look at my hair which she did and said 'I'm not a hairdresser so I don't know'. She later admitted that she said that because she had other customers in the shop at the time. Another hairdresser in there (very nice woman) looked at my hair and looked mortified. She said she could only sort out the uneven length and would need to take off OVER AN INCH on one side to get it more level. She did said she couldn't do anything about the rest of it unless I went very short. So I had to let her RAZOR off over an inch at the bottom of one side. The manager was the most dismissive and rude person I've come across in a long time. I had to ask her for an apology and for my money back. She kept making excuses saying the lady who did my hair had been a hairdresser for 14 years. I said but clearly just look at the state of my hair! In the end I just walked out, I was getting no where.

I've been to this beauty salon a number of times and I really don't know why I've gone back…read more Their health and safety is terrible. Every time I've gone for a wax the therapist has never worn gloves. I had my eyebrows done and the girl hadn't even washed her hands because they stank of marmite and it even made my skin smell of marmite after the treatment which was repulsive. I swore I would never go back, but my current beauty therapist had to cancel on me before my holiday, which meant I needed to book a bikini wax with someone else. I strictly wanted sugaring waxing because of my sensitive skin and Tan & Beauty are the only other salon I know of who offer this. When I called I strictly stated sugaring waxing. When I went in for the treatment I confirmed I was having a sugar wax. The girl started the wax and actually used hot wax, which is a completely different treatment. She clearly thought I didn't know the difference, however I have an NVQ Level 2 in beauty therapy. To add insult to injury she tested it on her wrist, said it was far too hot, then only waited a matter of seconds before testing on my skin. It was far too hot, burned me, and then she waited only another minute before testing on me again. It was again far too hot. As she took the wax off it ripped my skin and I started bleeding (as I said before she wasn't wearing gloves so she could have caused an infection or passed anything she was carrying to me). As a result I asked her to switch to the regular wax. She did a bad job and left quite a few hairs. To her credit she did ask if it was OK, but I was so traumatised by the experience I didn't want her to continue. To make matters worse I have now been left with 3 ingrown hairs, despite exfoliating. I have also gone in for a spray tan and was not asked when booking if I'd had a spray tan before and therefore was not told to avoid moisturising, so I was left with a blotchy tan and then told off by the manager (who did the tan) for wearing moisturiser and causing the blotchy tan! Not a great look on holiday! Please do yourself a favour and avoid, avoid, avoid!!

Beauty and spa obsessed, I struggled with questions like "Who will do my eyebrows?" "Where will I get my nails done" "Where the hell can a girl get a good wax in Edgware?" Thankfully, a girlfriend recommended me to Rumiz Beauty Studio and I made my way in today for my first visit. Making an appointment is extremely easy. I perused their variety of services and selected a wax as I was well overdue for one. I walked to my appointment and it was easy enough to find - the signage is bright and easily noticeable. Rumiz is extremely quiet, clean and brightly lit. They have a large variety of services, ranging from waxing to threading to facials to nail treatments. I was greeted by the woman who would be serving me (I can't remember her name but she was fantastic, it started with a K) and promptly was shown to my room where I was allowed to get undressed. Everything in the room was sparkling clean, the waxing equipment was in good shape and I was very comfortable. As it was my first visit there, she took a look at my hair growth and asked me a few questions - extremely professional. Waxing can be a stressful experience but she made sure I was comfortable and we chatted about pleasant things - my recent move, what services she specializes in at the beauty studio, etc. The wax took about 30 minutes and she was as precise as she could be - as a result of my uneven growth, it was difficult for her to get every last hair but assured me that if I followed her instructions before my next appointment (four to six weeks from then), I would be in good shape and appointments that initially took 30 minutes would turn into a 15 minute appointment, in and out. My wax cost me 25 pounds and I left her a generous tip before scheduling my next appointment with her and a facial inbetween to get my skin in fantastic shape. All around a good experience and I was extremely comfortable. I was laughing (inbetween my slight outbursts as a result of light pain) and she had a very light hand. Waxing can be painful if done incorrectly and I can say Rumiz Beauty Studio makes it a priority to get it right. I'm looking forward (as much as a girl can look forward to waxing) to my next appointment.
