Great drinks and service! Good place for a pre dinner drink to start out the evening while on holiday in NZ

Monday Night 2 for 1 Beef Wellington. Must say really really good beef. Not a totally posh place but comfy, young pub like atmosphere with netball on tonight. The Beef Wellington takes 30 minutes to cook but totally worth the wait. Not too bit of pieces either. Accompanied. Y sliced potatoes it was really comfort food delicious. Great bar atmosphere, light crowd tonight bit looks like a locals places for the most part. We were the only non Nz's here.

In the 4 days I've been in Wellington I've been to The Tasting Room twice! We came first for the $20 fish and chips with wine deal on Fridays and then came back for dinner tonight for their Frozé- which was phenomenal! The prices are appropriate- if anything maybe a bit on the higher side but the food is so good it makes up for it. Tonight I got the prawns starter with the pork belly main. The pork belly is by far the best thing I've eaten in Wellington so far!! It was so tender and juicy and the skin was still very crispy. The marinade juices and parsnip purée was super delicious. I will definitely need to come back before I leave to get the pork belly again!

    Entree platter

Went to this restaurant using a coupon which was effectively two for one. We had a party of 6 and started with a entree platter a photo of which is attached and then a number of main dishes. The appetizer platter was pretty nice with polenta sticks, spare ribs Fried Chicken , olives and a very nice cheese sauce. That was probably the highlight of the meal. My chicken parmigiana was pretty good but all the rest of the dishes were average to say the least. Fish and chips were ok but the pork belly had a very small portion and had no crispy skin, the lamb was tasteless and the beef wellington look like the beef had been cooked first then enclosed in some pastry and baked to give the pastry effect. Plus the beef was well done, not medium as it should have been. I'm glad we only paid Half price for this meal because had it been full price I think I might have sent some food back to the kitchen.

    Cheese fondue

We only had a starter (cheese fondue) and dessert (chocolate torte), but both were pretty decent. Wine choice is good but don't order "short's" as tiny portions - in my case, of Jamieson's. Otherwise seems like a fun place frequented by lots of locals. That 2 for 1 Wellington does look good, but only good on Monday's, so our Thursday visit not much good lol.
