Almost Wellington's equivalent of fish smith! I went here the other night with a big group of friends and between us we got kumara chips (amazing), Cajon fish burgers, vege burger and crumbed snapper. Apart from two order glitches and asking for more fish in my burger, the staff were amazing, helpful and thoughtful which is why I give them top marks. Everyone was happy with their meals and we would definitely return. The portions are hearty and the burgers are really good value at $10 each. Thanks Mt. Vic Chippery, you'll be seeing us (and our friends again soon) Taste: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value; 5/5 Must try: kumara chips and Cajon burgers Instagram: @oliviaroundtown Website: Olivia Round Town (dotcom)

Lines out the door means good things are coming out of the kitchen. And at Vic you are in the kitchen! Watch the 4-5 cooks and chefs dance around each other 3 meters from the cash till. Tickets flying everywhere, hot bubbling fryers making all kinds of pop pop bubble bubble noises. The Chef calling orders, moving tickets and salting chips in a constant whirl of motion and action. Simple build your own blackboard menu. They say "make it your way!" You know they are proud of their fresh proteins when the iced portions are 1 meter inside the front door. Multiple fresh fish filets in your face! Step 1 more meter and ogle at the pass window where they plate the orders. So in the first 6 steps you have seen the raw ingredients, saw the chefs cooking and then the final product of the persons 5 spots before you. Are you hungry now? No more explanations... get your tummy down the Mt. Vic and enjoy the best fish and chips prepared just the way YOU like it!

You know those nights where you're craving naughty takeaways but can't face disgusting soggy chips and oily batter? Head to Mt Vic Chippery. Best way to describe it is fancy, DELICIOUS fish and chips. Ahh so good!! The kumara chips are so so yum and the fish is soo fresh. There are a number of fish, batters, sides and sauces to choose from! So good.

Had no idea what a whitebait fritter sandwich was, and if you don't peak, it's pretty tasty. Great place!

Moki fillets and Agria fries delivered piping hot to my hotel room.

Some of the best fish and chips I've had at the price point. Great for a fast meal on the go in the cbd.

Food was fresh and good! As a non-local, the price seemed comparable to what the sit-down restaurants offer.

Slow. Overpriced. It's the closest place to me, but I've been burned too many times. Stay away.
