Apparently, Ms Ulloa had assisted me for a fee and somehow I overlooked the fact that I electronically filed the tax forms and did not send in a payment back in April for the taxes owed to the state. This is something that I did and it did not arrive or I failed to send out a payment either by mistake and overlooking or forgetting that I needed to finish off my taxes with mailing a check. So I called to verify this and found out that you can file electronically and still send a check to the FTB. Ok. the two stars is for the man who answered the phone on behalf of the office. I had to explain five times that I needed to verify what I thought may have happened. He did not seem pleasant and he was the only one there. He had someone come in while we were talking and he said "I'm the only one here. Sit down". When we were done, he said. "OK" and nothing else. Strange customer service. I am feeling bummed that I paid for all this extra service via the website and then still ended up with a 50 dollar penalty and 17 dollars of interest. Warning to you. Do not forget to make the payment with a voucher after eletronically sending your taxes to FTB.
