I went for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed. The place is extremely clean and modern looking. The staff here take a lot of care to explain their work and keep everything meticulous. They dispose of all files after every use, making the price slightly slightly higher than places that reuse. I tried the full manicure and quickly facial. Bother we're relaxed, pampering experiences that left my winter battered skin looking fresh, clean and glowing. The faculty was a great value for the money, but involves a lot of product explanation. It's the trade-off when you get the quick facial, I suppose, no massage or spa music. The facial itself was amazing. My sensitive skin was cleaned, scrubbed and detoxes without any reaction or discomfort. I generally react to skin care products but found these products, though strong, were delicate to my sensitive skin and quite nourishing. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a clean, hygienic, and attentive manicure or facial. They did not try to up-sell me or surprise me with hidden costs, as many other spas do. read more

Went the first time for a quick manicure and it was $50 and was horrible and I already made an appointment for a manicure pedicure the following week I need to pay for it online before your appointment so you can't cancel it so I went to the appointment let's just say you're sitting and having your pedicure your feet are in a sink you have a most uncomfortable chair because you're sitting on cement with a pillow literally there is no chair it's a built-in bunk on the wall and your manicure you're sitting at the kitchen table basically she wrapped my feet in saran wrap and by the time I get home the saran wrap and the Vaseline had melted into my toenail polish into my shoe I was an absolute disaster horrible horrible place save your self do not go. read more

The staff is very friendly and the space is very clean. They definitely make it a very pleasant experience from the moment that you Walk in. My services there however have never been good. I have gotten quite a few Brazilians there and the hair was just never removed properly. Within a few days I'd have hair again. I got a gel manicure there for the first time 1.5 weeks ago and I have attached an image of what it looks like already. It looked pretty nice when it was first done I will say. I can usually go 2.5-3 weeks without it chipping when I go to my usual place. I have had Covid for a week so the chipping was not attributed to me doing anything like cooking, cleaning, washing dishes excessively etc...I won't be returning unfortunately. read more

I've been to the Ten Spot before, but not this location. This is the new location in the chain - I believe just opened a few months ago. Since this location is really close to me I was happy. The Ten Spot is a nice clean salon that offers the standards - nails, waxing, facials. The manicures are done at a long communal table so you may be sitting very closely next to someone if it is busy. The waxing rooms all have a tv where you can watch Netflix programs to distract you while they rriiiiip out the hair. There is a also a beverage menu so you can get your drink on while getting pampered. I'm sure after a few months this location will get things running smoothly. It just felt a little disjointed as there didn't feel to be a smooth encounter from start to finish..almost felt like the staff wasn't too sure what to do and were making it up along the way. I think it's just being new. The other locations are well run so I'm sure this will be no exception. You get complimentary tea when you get here. I've never had my nails done here, just waxing so I can't comment on that service. The waxing service is really good - the rooms are clean, they use a combination of hard/soft wax depending on the area and don't double dip. Since it's close to me I will most likely go back. It's not cheap but what I would save in gas and time driving to the other location might be worth it. read more

I was very impressed with The Ten Spot. I heard good things but I had never tried out The Ten Spot before but my normal waxing location was closed and I was in the area so I checked it out. I don't have a lot of free time so I got the full shebang when I went here. I got a facial, mani and pedi and brazilian wax. From greeting at the reception to leaving everyone was very nice and professional and the whole process was very pleasant and smooth. The girl I had , Hannah, was super sweet and very skilled! Major bonus and why more places don't do this: playing Friends on the TV while doing a Brazilian wax!! Genius!! It distracted me from any pain but even then I felt very little pain as she used a hard wax which I hadn't been given before and it was amazing for waxing that area...very painless. The place is super clean and organized and I felt very relaxed and comfortable for all of my services. I will be back for sure and definitely recommend! read more

Very unprofessional service. Impatient. Rushing. Lack of skill. My manicurist Althea looks like she hates this job so much she hates the world. - the nails were first very badly done because the bottle was dry. Althea was trying to get away with this because she "has appointment in 5 mins". When I ask for redo, here comes attitude. - be 100% sure what colour you want. Trying colours is frowned upon here. - some nails are not done near the edge and look like they were done a week ago. So just like when I came in today. Nice. If you are still reading, maybe you are the owner. Maybe you are Althea. Hey Althea, if you really hate this job, do something else! Be a dog walker, street cleaner, a parking lot guard etc. You'll be happier. Please train your employee. Yes everyone can do nails but you are running a business. Plus, adjust your scheduling system. sometimes it needs a little extra time to fix shit, especially if your employee is badly trained. It's ok you waste me another 20 mins to fix it. It's not ok to rush the service and hope me will get my ass out no matter what so you can serve next customer on time. I'm not your mother. read more

Was very excited when I heard a higher end nail salon would be opening in this area. First impression of the space is very positive. It's so open and bright with lots of natural lighting and very clean looking which is super important to me. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and was checked in and taken to the area to pick my colour and offered water or coffee. The lady who did my nails was very sweet and engaging which made for a nice conversation. My service took a bit longer than the 50 minutes I was told it would take, but I wasn't in a rush and she was just taking her time to do a precise job. I'd rather it be precise and take a bit longer than rushed and not great. Overall I'm very happy with my first visit to get a manicure. I'll definitely come back for a waxing and and facial. read more

I have seen Althea at the Ten Spot and I am surprised at the review that 'Katie S' has provided. Seems to me as if she might have been having a bad day. I have personally followed Althea from two previous spas to this one and I can honestly say that she is one of the best aestheticians I have had the opportunity to work with. She is good-natured, hilarious, outgoing, takes time and pays EXTREME attention to detail (she won't let you leave until everything is perfect) and is (and should be) proud of the work she does. She is also extremely knowledgeable with products and services and I consider her to be not just a service provider but a friend as well! I had my first 'great' Brazilian experience with her and she was very helpful telling me when to breathe in and out and applying pressure at the right times. I don't think I would EVER see anyone else for a Brazilian! In addition, the staff at Ten Spot are overall very courteous and professional. It is a clean and bright environment and the staff are very fast and efficient. Prices are also very reasonable considering the love and time that they put into their services. I would most definitely recommend anyone to go there, and furthermore, to go see Althea because she is truly a gem!! Don't just take my word for it! read more

I've been to the Ten Spot at this location three times, for both Brazilian waxing and pedicures. My first two experiences were average. The third experience was terrible. The woman who did my waxing and pedicure seemed very angry/ disgruntled the entire time. This negatively affected my experience. I would not recommend this place, especially since it's also expensive, compared to much better, friendlier places. read more

Came here today with my 6 month old for a Brazilian wax. The staff was soooo friendly and accommodating! Wax was (relatively) painless and quick. I had a wonderful experience at the Ten Spot and thoroughly enjoyed my mani/pedi. The location itself is beautiful. It is a nice open and modern space. The decor and finishes feel high end throughout and you can tell that there was a lot of thought put into everything to make sure that you get the right feel the minute you walk in. I was actually a few minutes late for my appointment, which I booked online without any issues, and the owner came right over to reassure me it was not an issue and showed me around the spa. It was a nice change from the attitude you can often get in "high end" locations and put me at ease right away. They also have an area that you can sit and have a glass of wine or coffee/tea/water if you are waiting or get there early which I thought was an awesome idea and something I hadn't seen anywhere else I have been...which is a LOT of places, From the moment I sat down the service was wonderful. My technician was extremely professional and not only made sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed including offering me a beverage while I was getting my treatment. She was very knowledgeable and made sure that she knew how I would prefer to get my treatment and if I had any sensitive areas or concerns before she started. I don't generally have any concerns with people around my feet however I know many people who do and I thought that was a very nice touch. The seating was so comfortable and relaxing and the treatment was top notch. This is not your standard nail bar! Nothing felt rushed, the products felt, smelt and were amazing and I couldn't have been happier with the result. My treatment was almost two weeks ago and toes and nails are still in great shape with no chipping. The technician was organized and prepared and she took her time to pamper me which is definitely a part of the service I was looking for in a higher end location, The manicure treatment went the exact same way. From start to finish everyone there did an amazing job keeping a warm, inviting and relaxing environment and the feel of the space itself definitely completed that experience. I would go back in a heart beat and am planning to go back shortly. I couldn't recommend the Ten Spot at Don Mills enough and it fits right it with what your expectations for a Nail bar would be in that location! read more

I keep seeing the ten spot all over the city, and I haven't gotten the chance to check one out. I was excited, I went to their website, also, checked out some of the videos on youtube. I booked an apt to one that just opened up at don mills...and honestly, my experience was extremely disappointing. First off, Ive been to many many nail salons in my life so this review comes from someone who has had a lot of high end, mid end, and low end nail services. With that said, when I first walked in, the greeting was a tad below average. But that's fine. After that I went to sit down, and I felt so cramped next to the person beside me. People come in to unwind, and take a 'moment for themselves" and here you are, sitting so damn close to the person next to you. Awkward. I hate to sound like I'm ranting, but I'm really not liking the files they use they don't feel so great on your feet and strangely enough that's never something I've ever really complained about. In terms of my nail practitioner, she seemed alright in terms of skill but when I'm paying 120$.....that just doesn't cut it.... it lacked technical execution for the price charged. When I moved from getting my pedicure to my mani, same thing, you might as well be sitting at a lunch table with 10 people. There was a point when the girl who worked there had to clean her tools, and there was like a 10 minute wait time in between. Sure it's cool they want to be clean and sterile but at the end of the day, do I really want to sit there for 10 minutes while you prepare your tools? Like why is this not all ready..to go or do they not have back stock or something?! Another thing that pissed me off is there shellac Blue machine that lights up wasn't working properly....and that was extremely annoying. When you're opening a new store why are things like that...not..checked to ensure they work properly. Maybe it sounds like I'm being harsh on this review. But at the end of the day for 110$ gel mani and pedi (with a discount because she could see show disappointed i was) I can say I will never come ever back. I thought that the other nail salon nearby was expensive, but now that I see their quality and prices and comfortable tranquil atmosphere with massage chairs and high end feel....in comparison to the 10 spot, I will never come back here. My boyfriend and I were visiting the city from out of town this afternoon and were treated to a wonderful, relaxing experience by the ladies at The Ten Spot, Don Mills. We had decided on getting manicures before arriving (a first for my boyfriend, and something I rarely treat myself to). We were greeted with smiles when we walked in the door, introduced to our manicurists by name, and offered beverages immediately upon sitting down. We opted for coffee, and were not disappointed. Delicious! During our service the owner, Sylvie, came out to greet us (by name!) and stayed for a brief chat. The service itself was timely, well-executed, and very relaxing. Our manicurists were friendly, with just the right amount of conversation (especially helpful when explaining the service to my new-to-spa-treatments boyfriend - he felt very at ease!). It happened that we were the only clients in the nail bar area during our time there, and I can imagine that it could get quite noisy with more bodies in there. However, we would definitely go back again. Thank you for such a lovely treat on this Wednesday afternoon ladies! read more

I started going to the ten spot for my Brazilian waxing about a year and a half ago, and my first time I have to say, was definitely a solid 4-5 out of 5. Everything is bright, clean, the rooms are nice and quiet, CLEAN, and there's a tv also, which can be a nice distraction. No problems here, so I returned. This time was just OK, the environment hadn't changed, but the skill set had. I felt like the girl was fumbling around, and when you're having this type of service done, that's the last thing you want. However, I really wanted to give the ten spot another chance. Everything about it is perfect, so I requested the girl I had the first time, I know she's been there for a while cause I frequent the shops at don mills, and she was the one who I initially had an amazing experience with. Ummmmmm fast forward... when the hell did it become appropriate to ask your client personal questions while staring at her vagina? Out of respect for myself I will not repeat the question she asked, but her question was definitely in reference to the reproductive organ in front of her. I was disgusted. Appalled. I politely ignored the question, finished my service, and never went back. Found a fantastic place on Yonge street that I've been going to ever since, all the girls there are super friendly. And I've mentioned to them the question this woman asked me, and they were all as floored as I was. Said there is never an ok time to ask that question while performing this service. I have never been to a Ten Spot before but I will definitely be going back. So much better then the chop shops I have gone to in the past. The service was excellent from the moment booked the appointment through the website to the end of the service. I went in for a pedicure for my first service. I could not decide which polish to get and was told that I could pick multiple and test them out and decide during the service. There were magazines waiting for me at the station and I was offered a drink when I sat down. The technician was fantastic and checked in during the service to ensure the pressure was comfortable for me. My feet feel wonderful. Great place and will be going back! read more

This specific location I would not recommend. When first going in it seemed very positive and nice environment but the actual services disappointed me. I had gotten my brows waxed and my underarms waxed. My brows she made them thin even though I told her just to shape them and she also took off a majority of my tail off on one side, I usually go to high end store but I thought I would try here because the price was a little cheaper. I regret that because the girl lacked skill. For underarm waxing it was okay but she ripped off some of my skin during the process. I wouldn't go back here for eyebrows and wouldn't recommend it for any family or friends. read more
