Once you cross that hurdle you will be embraced like family and made comfortable in the meticulously maintained club. Think hand carved wooden panels and comfy chairs by a fire place. Think old fashioned "men's club" without the elitist vibe. This is now a favorite spot for women and they throw lots of "women only" events. And they are happy to accept new members. The atmosphere is so warm, inviting and opulent at the same time. The food is expertly prepared and made to order so if you want to make changes they can. For example, I came here once and wanted a salad but one of the sandwiches was calling out to me. I asked if I could get the sandwich over a bed of greens instead of bread and they had no problem with that. They even recommended a dressing that complimented the salad perfectly. Prices are very reasonable given the caliber of the food. And I'd say a real bargain when you add in the atmosphere.

Returning cans here with my family is something that I have done many times since I was a child and it is a tradition I have carried on with my family. Unfortunately, this ends today. Today, my wife was rudely denied access to their facilities and told to go to a different establishment to use the restroom. Despite this, every other time that I have shopped here in my life we have been able to use the facilities here. I am incredibly upset by this unexpected and unwarranted insult. It is common sense that a reputable and good business should provide customer access to bathroom facilities but maybe that common decency and expectation has changed, I don't know. Our family favorite is the Ploughman's Lunch: rosemary ham, mango chutney, pickled red onion, cheddar, and lemony arugula on a Portuguese roll. It's the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and fresh. Our second go-to is the Pig and Fig, which is just as delicious. They also have gluten free bread available. In addition to the sandwiches, their cozy shop sells cheeses (if you love blue cheese you have got to try Rogue River!!), charcuterie, natural wines, craft beer, and carefully curated accompaniments like jams and chutneys. I've gifted their chic napkins and artisanal jams many times, and they always make the perfect host or hostess gift. They even carry unique finds like Bret's goat cheese and chili pepper potato chips, which I can't find anywhere else!
