I am still dreaming about their rose and cardamom lassi. I…read morecan just write a review alone on the lassi, it was subtle, refreshing, and compliments the chicken tikka masala with was cooked perfectly. You can really taste the flavors. The plates are meant to be shared so it's more of a Tapa's style place with dishes packed with spices and flavors. The establishment has 3 floors, the bar at the bottom, the middle and then the top floor where we were seated but they have an elevator where we would take to get the bathroom on the bottom floor. The place was beautiful and packed with people even on a Monday night. The service was lovely and I even enjoyed how they have an allergy menu to pick dishes that wont have your allergy. :,) I even found myself googling the songs because the music was very lively and fit the atmosphere perfectly. I would go again next time I'm in town.

We stopped in for breakfast and from the moment I looked at the menu, I knew this wasn't your typical brunch spot. As someone who's been sober for over a decade, I genuinely appreciated seeing a thoughtful nonalcoholic drink menu instead of the usual afterthought. Creative, intentional, and every bit as interesting as the cocktail list. Then the food showed up. The breakfast naan sandwich absolutely lived up to the hype. One of those meals where you immediately start thinking about when you can come back and order it again. Everything was packed with flavor, beautifully balanced, and somehow comforting while still feeling completely different from anything I'd had before. Dishoom's breakfast menu has become famous for those naan rolls, and after trying one, I completely understand why. What impressed me most was that nothing felt gimmicky. The concept, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food all supported one another. Honestly, I'm not aware of anything quite like this in the States. It feels less like going out for breakfast and more like stepping into another city's café culture for a couple of hours. Dishoom was one of the culinary highlights of my trip to Edinburgh, and it'll be one of the first places I return to the next time I'm back in the UK

I have had several take away meals from Nice & Spicy since it opened recently in 2013. All of the…read moredishes have been very tasty and well cooked. A particular favourite of mine is the Chicken Bhuna Kathi Gosht which has a distinctive and delicious flavour. The menu is quite extensive and includes a number of good chef's specials as well as most of the curry house standards: Madras, Korma, Dansak, Balti etc. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is ready quite quickly. They can deliver if required though I usually collect. The only negatives I can think of are that some of the curries are a little oily for my taste and that the prices are a bit higher than I would expect. However, the Indian restaurant at the other end of the high street has a similar menu and prices, but Nice & Spicy provides much better quality and value for money. Just what Dunbar needed for quite a while. Recommended!

Well what can i say really... Food is good, cost is still expensive order for your unborn childs…read more18th birthday because delivery takes a ridiculous amount of time. From the items I've had on the menu I have been fairly pleased with them in terms of taste but often portions are half empty or half full depending on the way you look at it. The price you pay certainly isn't worth the dishes since after the meal you feel like you have hardly ate a thing. Now the main issue Nice & spicy have is their delivery time, enough time to please a woman but to much to please the customers, seriously. Now don't get me wrong I wouldn't expect the food to take 10 minutes like it would at the chip shop but when you get your food an hour after they told you it would be at your house then we have problems. It takes 5 minutes tops to drive along the road from the shop, 10 in maybe the apocalypses but after calling up and being told it would be along shortly to then call up -20- minutes later for them to say it will be along in a few minutes kinda tells the story they never started cooking the food till at least 40 minutes before we got it which would have been 10 minutes after they said it would be with us. This is the point where the person hung up on us, yes the shop hung up on the customer for asking where our food was, no even offering us a discount. There is no excuse for this lateness if the place is busy then why not give a more realistic time rather than purely lying to customers. Would not recommend Nice & spicy to anyone that likes having their food on time. This is not a one time thing either EVERY time without fail they have been late, now understandably you would expect the opening night to be slow, okay fair game, but every single time.... really just really. Personally I have waited in the shop 40 minutes after they said it would be ready to which I got some free poppadoms.. oh good that was totally worth the wait.... If you want to waste time and like waiting on your food then sure give them a call, otherwise I'd HIGHLY suggest driving to Edinburgh and getting an Indian takeaway from there as you will get it and come back faster than ordering local.
