Luckily, they were able to hold it in their kitchen during the performance. The venue is clean and easy to get to via public transit. My only complaints are the prices of the nonalcoholic drinks. I hate that all the major comedy clubs have a two-drink minimum. I'd rather just tack on $20 to the ticket price. That being said, Cobb's does have better options for non-drinkers like me.

However, we were seated too close to the front wall that sometimes we just ended up seeing the comedian from behind. I'm sure we would've had a better experience if we didn't have a somewhat obstructed view. There's also a two drink minimum per person, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. This rule was a bit strange to me because all the other comedy spots I've been to allowed me to select a food item to meet the two item minimum. However, Punch Line is very strict on the fact that your two items have to be beverages. The cocktail I got was unmemorable. I should've just gone with something premade and canned. I'd come back here for a comedian that I'd want to see live. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

Went to a comedy show here last Friday. Conveniently located by the Muni/Bart!…read moreThe owner, Tony, is hilarious and welcoming. The mix of talent was a range of up-and-coming comics. My partner and I had a great time during each set. Lots of jokes about tech, dating, AI, and homeless folks. You know, the SF standard. With that said, the bar is intimate. Every seat is a good seat so you will likely be part of the show in some way (no hiding here!). If you are easily offended, maybe stop by the bar first to loosen up before you settle in for the show. Our drinks were creative and there is something for everyone. My favorite was the Tropic Thunder (pina colada vibes) and espresso martini. I would definitely recommend to catch a show, bring your sense of humor, and support this club.

(In all honesty he was very gracious and welcoming) It was a great vibe, we felt comfortable and safe. I brought my friend for her birthday. We had a great time. Bonus: You can bring food from the Mediterranean restaurant next door. And comfy chairs. I'm a storyteller & I know it's hard getting a good read on your audience, but all of the comics were good in their own right. I look forward to seeing their careers develop. It takes courage to take the stage & jokes fall flat sometimes, & other times it insights nervous laughter. Kudos to all of them. I will definitely come back.

What a nice venue that they flipped from an underutilized parking lot in between buildings during…read moreCovid 2021 summer time into a glowing outdoor patio lounge area! Half of the comedians were legit funny. The other half was probably impromptu winging it while on stage. They serve up drinks at the front before seating. I had an enjoyable outing, glad it was outdoors and laughs were much needed during this pandemic!

It was alright. I like that there was no minimum drink required and the drinks were good (at…read moreleast, those that we had). Comedians were ok, not horrible, not exactly laugh out load. I didn't care for the fact that no where online could I find any comedian names beforehand - therefore, I wasn't expecting much. Bought tickets online ($53 for 2 with svc fee) a few weeks in advance. For entry, a woman checked our names off a list then we walked down the flight of stairs that had prohibition era decor. The venue is intimate. Seating is extremely tight (definitely seats less than 100 people). I would suggest that if you go, do NOT sit up front for obvious reasons (like being the subject matter and/or ridiculed), but also because those in front rows were literally spit on (unintentionally of course) by the headliner that raised his voice/yelled as part of his skit - from the side view where we sat and because of the spotlights, we seriously saw the spit travel through the air, land on people who then retracted a bit in shock - we were disgusted, especially in this post-COVID pandemic climate. One of the other comedians stopped his skit and reprimanded those in the audience that were talking - he was so annoyed and wasn't shy about it. We parked in the parking garage across the street, $20 for less than 2 hours wasn't exactly worth it. I wouldn't be against returning as long as there are funny, well known comedians scheduled and marketed - but we won't sit up front :)

Then we were greeted again once we were inside, this time by Jay Alexander himself! He welcomed us, and found us a seat himself for us to get comfortable and order some drinks before the show started. He did this with everyone who came in, took the time to learn our names, and even performed magic while we were waiting for the stage show. That was amazing enough already, then the stage show started. Not only was the magic and mentalism great, his demeanor and excitement for what he was doing was palpable. My wife and I could tell he loves doing this, and that makes it even more fun than it would have been otherwise. My wife and I were also brought 'on-stage' and that was also a lot of fun. I have been to other shows where the magician does not make the spectator feel comfortable, and this couldn't be further from that. He made us feel like the most important thing was that we had a good time, and we certainly did. I cant wait to see Jay again. Next time we are definitely taking the kids too, then I'll have to bring all the other members of my family as well. I cannot recommend Jay's show enough. Please do yourself the favor of going!

Free oreos before the show, the light effects during the different acts, having an audience member play the guitar on stage during a few of their bits (especially when that audience member is my bf, and he did such an awesome job :), the cute lounge/waiting area outside the auditorium, unconventional artwork and decor throughout the venue creating the perfect ambience for date night (or any night really!), the delicious cocktails at the bar (especially When Life Gives You Lemons with starburst- infused vodka), and the fact that the bar closes late, so you can get drinks throughout the entire show. By the way, the entrance to Secret Improv Society was on the lower level, door to the left that says "Cabaret Stage". The show was hilarious, and had me laughing all night. The performers were entertaining and know how to work a crowd. And I saw some new skits/acts I haven't seen before with other improv events I've attended. It's definitely worth returning, since with improv, it's a new show every time. And this group made us feel welcome and made sure we had fun. Secret Improv Society, I "soup" you :D
