It breaks my heart to read 2 bad reviews on the Training Box. I am a college kid who have been going to the "box" for about a year now and I could not help but completely DISAGREE. This gym has changed my life for the better and i have made such amazing friends! I guess all i can do is just tell my experiences. I have been working out at multiple gyms and have been very frustrated because I have not been able to lose the weight and tone up the way i wanted. Joining the Training Box has changed my life for the better. At first i was really intimidated to join but i finally got the courage and showed up for class one day. I'm a pretty shy person but My first day was a lot of fun. The trainers and class members were all really welcoming and sweet! They all encouraged me during that first day and never made me feel intimidated! Before i knew it, i joined and have been a member evern since! Facility - To start, the facility is a great gym. Its a huge area and actually one of the biggest crossfit gyms i've seen. This is your BOX! they are fully equipped with new material such as jump ropes, rope climbs, free weights, bench press, basically everything you can find in a gym, rowing machines plus MORE. Ive visited 3 other crossfits and I was surprised how new and complete this gym is! Trainers - you will have 2 trainers per class, guiding you through the workouts and motivating you! These guys really care, they will push you and encourage you to accomplish things you never thought you could do. Most importantly, the trainers are very informed in what they do, they will make sure you always have correct form to avoid injury. This is very important because how may people at the gyms feel lost when working out alone? In addition they always have great post workout advice toe help recover. Essentially you will be guided by life coaches! Classes - the classes vary per day, For warm ups They incorporate good stretching yoga like techniques, followed by a challenging strenght building focus with weights. Just when you think your read to be done, You then end with a work out of the day. Typically this involves cardio with weights. The work outs of the day vary so much. Ladies this is ideal! the only way to lose weight is by changing your workouts daily! At the Box, their workouts really challenge your body and revs up your metabolism and tones all your muscles evenly! (correctly muscle imbalance). I have lost at least 25 lbs!! I used to run every day but got no results...if you are serious about weight loss this is the place for you! Staff - great trainers, great office staff. The training box is a family to me. They ar willing to work around you! At one point i had trouble paying several months when i lost my job but Colin and JOsh really worked around that and were flexible with my payments. I have been to 4 different cross-fits in 3 different states including one of the original 10 crossfits and I can say with complete sincerity that this crossfit is the best I have been to. If you are in the Southwest Florida area this is guaranteed to be your best crossfit and well worth the extra drive if need be. I will break down why this is the best gym in simple steps because it seems people are complaining about the gym which I think is unfair. 1. Cost - This is the cheapest crossfit I personally have been to and from what I have heard about all the others. $99???? 1 of the crossfits was $250 a month, 2 others were $200, and a small one was $150. Combined with the other attributes I will list, you CANNOT BEAT THAT. 2. Coaches - The attraction of crossfit aside from the workout routines is the specialized training you can get from more intimate coaching. If you went to a Globo Gym as I like to call them, you will pay $40 an hour for some second rate-uninterested meathead. Yes I called them that - they don't care and worse, the exercise you get is crap. Because of the emphasis of coaching in crossfit, you should look for a crossfit that has amazing trainers; and let me tell you, the Training Box has some of the most dedicated and experienced trainers I have seen. I believe it comes down to the simple fact that they are not there to get paid. They live their trade 24/7 and if you are friends with them on Facebook you know how dedicated they are. They put their lifeblood into it and it shows in how concerned they are with the members and their fitness goals. If you want personalized results, go to the Training Box. 3. Atmosphere - The atmosphere is very fluid at the Box. What do I mean by that? Atmosphere for me is a description of the behavior of the members/coaches/attitudes in the gym. When you go to a globo gym, the attitude is "I'm better than you." All egotistical, one-dimensional bullshit. There is no camaraderie. At the box, the atmosphere is fluid. If you want to be competitive, they will push you. But they are carry themselves with a laid back attitude that is directed at making your workouts enjoyable FOR YOU. I firmly believe this is the product of the owners/coaches cultivating such a sentiment, and it is a nice to not worry about judgmental people worrying how much you are lifting. 4. Size - Pretty straight-forward. It's just a big gym which is a huge plus over a lot of crossfits. Most of the crossfits I have attended (2 in Arizona, 1 in New York, 1 in Florida) have not possessed simultaneously all of these qualities. I will not rag on the other crossfits because I know they do what they can, but the Box is a unique gym that blends together a bunch of what is absolutely right with modern fitness and the owners do their best to continuously give the members that experience! read more

I am a Physician and Travelling Crossfitter and have been to about 5 Crossfits all throughout the Southwest and Florida. I have been working out for many years at global gyms such as LA fitness - therefore I would say I have a pretty good knowledge about what makes a good CrossFit gym. Hands down, The Training box is the best gym all around...and I am comparing this to Crossfit Gyms in Arizona, an area where Crossfit originated. To start, the Trainers are the best. The trainers pay a lot of attention to each athlete and give great constructive advice. In addition, they are willing to work around what you can do and help personalize workouts to your starting level. So for anyone new to Crossfit you are basically getting a personal trainer at all times for a cheaper rate. So no matter what athletic background you are from there is a lot room for you to train and excel to your best. You will never find this at a globo gym where you are left to do things on your own, never reaching your potential. These trainers are very passionate at what they do. Secondly, Trust me when i say most Crossfit communities are not as energetic and passionate. Compared to the Southwest were Crossfit started, Its actually more rare to find a Crossfit that pushes you at all times. At the Training box you will find this supportive community. Whether your 65 or new to exercise, everyone who you workout with believes in you. You'll find a lot of encouragement to the point youll actually feel your working out with comrades who believe in you. You'll never just feel your working out for yourself. The community provides you a home where youll start believing in yourself more. This itself is priceless. Third, This is actually one of the biggest Crossfits gyms all around. The management has great ambition in developing it into a community not just a gym. The owners firmly believe in not only encouraging exercise, but also encouraging a healthier LIFESTYLE. Thats exactly why they have started to branch out and provide ideas such as meal plans and food options for those who may not be familiar with what foods to eat. Essentially you are paying for a personal trainer alongside valuable lifestyle educational changes. As a physician, I can only commend this brave gym into venturing further and helping people change their whole life for the better. Please do not be discouraged by the above comments. I personally have never experienced any problems. Colin and Josh are willing to work out around anyones schedule and have helped people out many times. I'm a high school student who got extremely frustrated because i could not get the results i wanted by going to LA Fitness. Finally i couldnt take lifting by myself and decided to go after a recommendation from my sister. My decision to join the Training Box was the Best decision i've made towards my health so far. If you want results this is the place for you. Within 1 months I've lost 12 lbs and started to actually build more muscle mass, something ive struggled with by going to the gym. I have been able to reach results because the workouts are executed very well. If your not familiar, crossfit is actually the workouts that navy seals use to train. Scaled to work for the average person I have been able to reach my goals. Each class has 2 personal trainers who guide you each day. These workouts vary per day which is actually more effective in weight loss and building muscle. Some days we lift other days we go through cardio. The movements are always varied, constantly shocking our body. The trainers push you so essentially you are paying to have a personal trainer. The facility is pretty cool. All the equipment are new. You'll find everything from free standing weights, barbells, olympic weights. My favorite is the dogsled/push prowler. The box is a great gym because I actually have more options for equipment compared to regular global gyms. I also jump in every once in a while for the MMA classes. Finally, the training box changed my life because i also got free talks on healthier more effective diets/lifestyle. As a highschool kid i was the typical guy that mostly ate fast food or microwavable meals....meeting Colin helped change that. I learned how to actually eat better to help me reach my goals and stay healthy . Also its pretty convenient because they have a small store where you can actually buy the right food to start you off the right path to learning how to cook. This is what it takes to get the results you want, being surrounded by the right choices in food and exercise. At the box you will get both. Today im a lot stronger because of the Training box. I'm a highschool cross country and track runner, who ive dropped his time by minutes! i've lost the weight i wanted to lose and gain the mass i wanted. I highly suggest this place for people who are just tired of not getting results. I am writing this review as an ex member so really do not have any bias towards The Training Box.. I have read some of the reviews on Yelp and feel some are unfair. The coaches here are amazing - very passionate about their job. In my opinion, anyone who sustains injuries from crossfit are either not listening to the coaches or are being plain dumb and letting their ego take over (I have seen this several times) The manager is very knowledgeable and has always been really helpful, as has Ally who runs the 'front of house'. A great asset. I saw the review about other members not being friendly - I found it more to be a case of having to make an effort and actually say hi myself, and then I found them to be lovely and helpful people. There are over 300 members here so do not expect a personal greeting from other customers. Make an effort and smile and break the ice yourself because these are great people. I do think there are some negatives - but I don't feel its fair to post a scathing personal attack on individuals when reviewing a business. Yes one of the owners has ZERO interpersonal skills, however he is never there and it should not impact the great work being done by the staff at this box. If you are new to crossfit, its a great place to go - there are a lot of choices in close proximity now so I do think you should visit a few boxes to get a feel for the place and then make a decision about where you feel most comfortable. This is an old style box - no ac, very basic no frills facilities - that is not for everyone but I suggest try it and see if its the right fit for you. I am a personal trainer and have been for about 4 years now and after working and working out at a local gym for so long my workouts started becoming boring and stale until I really just didnt have anymore motivation to workout anymore. A good friend and former client had told me about The Training Box and that I should check it out sometime, so I did. From the moment I stepped foot in The Box I could tell that this place was different from the usual gyms I had experienced in my life in fitness, there was an energy about this place that gave we the chills, in a good way. I was actually excited about working out again and I hadnt even started the class yet. This was my first crossfit class ever so I was a little bit nervous about messing up or not being able to keep up with everyone but soon realized it was so much more than a class. Everyone was pushing each other to be better, lift stronger and be healthier, it was totally different than anything I had ever seen in a gym. It reminded me of being on a sports team again with everyone working together to make the workout fun and enjoyable while also recieving the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The Training Box has renewed my motivation to workout and be happy about doing it. I recommend this gym to anyone looking to enhance their lives through well thought out workouts that will keep your body guessing. I visit Fort Meyers, FL once a year on vacation. My first order of business on vacation is to find a place to workout. Normally I try the traditional L.A. Fitness gym, due to my bodybuilding style workout background (separating body parts, e.g. shoulders, back, quads, etc). When I googled gyms in the area Training Box popped up. I am not familiar with crossfit, but I called to see what kind of workouts/equipment were offered. When I called I was immediately transferred to Dan, the general manager. He took the time to go over classes, benefits of crossfit, and ensure me that I could be introduced to the community no problem. I was advised it was $50.00 for the week, with unlimited classes. I enjoy challenging my fitness levels so I decided to try it out. This was easily the BEST fitness experience I have had. I went to Tim's classes and found it very informative and his coaching style excellent. He took the time to correct and explain small discrepancies in my form without a negative connotation. The classes challenged me and I learned something new every day. I also found that the general manager took the time to not only introduce himself, but worked out in the same classes as well. Everyone was especially kind and informative. Now when I travel to Fort Meyers, FL I know where I want to train. This is an excellent gym and I recommend it to anyone visiting in the area or anyone wanting to challenge themselves! read more

I am in love. I started at the Training Box a year and half ago after being labeled "Overweight" from a wellness exam at work. I had tried everything from personal trainers, running multiple miles every night., to Insanity programming. What I really needed was someone to push me to a level I hadn't seen since my gymnastics days in HS. I'm not just talking a trainer to push me, but fellow athletes as well. That is exactly what I got from Crossfit Estero. After 6 months I had dropped 40 pounds and never felt better. My confidence was sky high and the friendships I have made are truly encouraging me to a better athlete and person. I now come 6 times a week, and look forward to my 5:30pm work out as the highlight of my day. Not to mention, I am training for multiple competitions and have convinced my friends from OH to become Crossfit Junkies as well! If you feel like you are stuck and have tried everything, this IS THE ANSWER, you won't regret it :) If you come and try it out, don't be afraid to introduce yourself to the person on the barbel, mat, rings, etc. next to you-- they could become one of your best friends!! CrossFit at The Training Box is not your average exercise class. Bring your game face I say!! It has literally changed my entire view of fitness and what it means to commit to a workout. After a very short time at CrossFit my body has begun to change, I can see my abs again and I wasn't sure that was possible at 43. I believe CrossFit is going to be my "Fountain of Youth". What I really like about CrossFit is that it is diverse and I always seem to get crushed at each workout as no two workouts are exactly the same. The instructors are awesome! Without the instructors' can-do attitude I would have given up. Their positive attitudes are so contagious; I just have to keep coming back. What I also like about the classes is that they cater to people of all ages and abilities and each class pushes me to get a little more fit each time I go. I still have much more to accomplish on the journey I have laid out for myself, but with CrossFit at The Training Box I know that it will be a challenging, but fun adventure. Since I have been going to The Training Box not only am I healthier, stronger and look better than I ever have BUT - I feel amazing - 100% more stronger physically and mentally/ The trainers are the best of the best. They are motivating and knowledgeable. The Trainers are well versed on all workouts and Olympic lifts that are preformed on a regular basis . They are all in great shape and very supportive. When I started over a year ago I thought I was in great shape, but I learned quickly that everyday is a challenge and I am constantly learning something new and challenging everyday. The atmosphere at The Training box is amazing with a lot of high intense energy. The owners Colin Stuckert and Josh Gibson are professional and amazing individuals. Colin is sharp positive and very informative in the area of health and fitness. He has helped me learn more in those areas in one year than I knew the previous 10 years. I just want to say I used to be one of those girls who made fun of crossfit and never understood anything about it. My boyfriend has been a crossfitter for years at a different facility. Finally I gave in and I tried a class. As in previous comment Ally at the front desk about the most amazing woman you will ever meet. She takes the time out of her work day everyday to ask how I am to congratulate me on my achievements at the gym and my resonance life. When I left my first class I signed up on the spot. I didn't come back for a week and she still knew my name and greeted me like I'd been there for years. All of my coaches are fabulous. They are well educated and they always motivate me to do my best. Not the best of everyone. But my best. They smile they laugh and they provide the community that makes The training Box what it is. Yes crossfit is challenging but it's also for everyone. The Box is more than a gym. It's the best art of my day. It's a community of people who support and encourage each other to do better than the day before. That's why I love my box. There is no better place to be!!! read more

I believe I was the first member at the "Box". When I walked in the door I was a guy looking to improve his physical conditioning. Fortunately I found a lot more. The trainers not only worked on strength/form/conditioning training, they created an atmosphere that you wanted to return too day after day. No matter who you are or what physical condition you were in, you were welcomed with open arms. That warm welcome does come with the condition that you put forth your best effort and encourage others to do the same. The staff is very knowledgeable and the Box is not a "Grip and Rip" gym where high reps and total weight outweigh the importance of form and technique. I moved from the area approx. 1.5 years ago but still feel like I am part of the Box family. I am going on 2 solid years of working out and I owe a lot of that desire to the commitment and dedication of the staff and members of the Training Box. I LOVE The Training Box and CrossFit Estero!!! A little over a month ago, I decided that I needed to get back into shape. I happened to be online and found a Groupon for this place. I figured I would try it and see what it was all about. Within the first 30 minutes, I knew I was signing up and coming as often as possible. For starters, Ally at the front desk is AMAZING! She has been the most helpful with getting me all set up and making sure I have all the things I need. She has been so motivational to me. Then you have the rest of the staff and the coaches, who have been nothing but fantastic. They have helped me to understand the form and improve my overall flexibility. On top of that, if I am struggling or I need help with something I don't hesitate to ask them. I know that they won't judge me for not being able to do something. If anything, they are happy I am seeking their help. This is just the tip of the iceberg as to why this place is so amazing, but I will leave it at that for now!! Christine :) read more

For my 43rd birthday my wife got me a Groupon for The Training Box and to tell you the truth I was a bit intimidated by what I had heard about Crossfit. When I went for my 1st class I spoke to Allie and she reassured me they would coach and train me at my speed. I told her I had tried all kinds of different work out program, videos and even have a gym in my garage but I was looking for a life changer. I took my first class and, yes it was hard but the coaches were excellent at explaining the movements and techniques. Fast forward 3 months later, I have lost 12 lbs, gained muscle mass, have abs for the 1st time in my life and have developed great relationships with my coaches. Now I'm in the Elite training program and the coaches are more committed to my success that ever. It has been a great life changer for me and, most of all, my wife is definitely enjoying the fruits of her birthday present to me. I have been going to The Training Box for a little over 3 weeks now and I must say that I'm beyond impressed with the facility, staff and members. Jonas Elliott, a good friend and Class Assistant attempted to introduced me to CrossFit a couple years ago and it took me until now to give it a shot and all I can say is that I'M HOOKED and I wish that I didn't wait as long as I did! I have been working out traditionally in a gym for 14 years now and I have never been so challenged during a workout than I have training at The Box. Although I came in with little knowledge of the CrossFit movements, the Class Instructors are there to help guide me on correcting my form, preventing injury and pushing me to be my best! I was a member at the box 6 months ago for a 3 month membership. I moved down further into Naples and discontinuted my membership as a result. The staff is amazing and I don't agree with the other reviews at all. It is a well run crossfit style gym that always made me feel comfortable and taken care of. The classes are fun and motivating but require alot of work, thats for sure. You have to want it to come consistently and if you do come you will be pleased. All of the long-term members at the box are in great shape and I saw new people make quick progress in the 3 months I was a member as well. Not to mention that my personal pr's went up drastically. My deadlift went from 315 to 375 in that period of time. I also added 35 pounds to my bench. If you put in the effort you will get the results. That I promise. read more

Before I moved out of state, the Training Box was my home away from home. The Training Box and it's staff attracts a group that all seem to really connect well, pushing each other further and harder towards their goals. Everyone is really welcoming and makes you feel instantly at home. Also, the gym has the highest quality equipment, and gets really creative using it. so if you're bored with the standard tread-mill and weight machine work-out, this is the place for you. It's like a whole play-ground for monkeys to turn you into gorillas. Whether you're climbing rope to the ceiling, or smashing a medicine ball against the wall, pulling sleds, or flipping monster truck tires- you will love making this place your new training center! read more

Really skeptical about joining a crossfit gym. After doing some research I came across Crossfit Estero. I signed up for a free intro class and I was hooked. I was worried that the membership was going to be costly, but that was not the case. As a school student it is easily affordable and they do offer student discounts. I signed up right after my first intro session. The next day I went into the Basic Class and the Instructor remembered my name. This is just one example of how much crossfit estero puts time and effort into knowing everyone at this gym. Since Ive had my membership I've been to about 4 classes and absolutely would recommend this to anyone looking to be pushed to their limits. read more

I have been at the Training Box for over two years and I can honestly say that the community and coaches are fantastic. The encouragement of the members and coaches to perform the movements correctly and reach personal goals is fantastic. I can see how beginners may be a bit intimidated but give it 100% and you will see results. In time you will build great relationships and accomplish real life change. I have visited several other gyms while on vacation over the years and I always leave disappointed. I really believe we are fortunate to have the facility and coaches that we have.
