My boyfriend and I were pretty antiqued out but decided to hit up this place since it was one of the few shops we hadn't gone inside. I'm so glad we did. This place is fantastic. It's filled with rare, thoughtfully selected pieces in a warm, dimly lit, well-designed showroom that almost gives off a vibe as though I just walked into someone's home. Attached to each item is a tag with the individual history, which adds an almost emotional element to their goods. We met the owners, who cordially spoke with us about their love of antiques and repurposing vintage pieces. It almost made me want to buy my own home just so I could decorate it with pieces like the Moorish fireplace mantle (probably my favorite piece in the store). Ah, a girl can dream, right?

They had fabulous, unique antiques and objects d' art. All of them were one-of-a-kind pieces, many with interesting histories. We found a beautifully carved Italian mantle that came out of an old mansion in Pasadena; it was just what we were looking for. Their art gallery featured award-winning Plein Air artists. They also had some charming little paintings by Kevin Courter in antique, tabletop frames that we couldn't resist. The owners were very nice and helpful. We will make Sekula's one of our must-do stops from now on.
