The stairwell smells like piss but oh well its free, and I wouldn't expect anything different. There is a Concord P.D. Substation located on the ground floor. They have good amount of parking but tends to get full during peak times. Timing is key when going to this mall. There are so many things you can do at this mall, eating spots like pizza, sushi, Brazilian all you can eat, boba/desert spots to shopping: gap, TJ Maxx, old navy, Cost Plus World Market. The have AAA services and banking too. It's a go to spot to eat for me.

There's plenty of places to shop and plenty of places to eat and probably fits with budgets of all different sizes. It has the staples that you tend to see at other outlet malls and centers but have unique eateries and shops as well. During this time of year (November), there's also an ice rink that lots of people seem to enjoy. Some family wanted to go to Sephora and man it was packed! Which is not surprising, since we were there on the busy shopping day of the year. I got to do some other browsing at J Crew. It was a short trip overall, but I can easily see people spending hours here if they needed to do some serious shopping. Came here with family because they wanted to do some shopping on Black Friday. It was really hectic as you would expect. The parking situation was pretty crazy and it took a while of driving around and luck to get a parking spot.

The fact that there is a parking garage was a huge plus for me. The fee to park here is $3/day within the hours of 4am-3pm. Any time outside of those hours is free. Payment can be done through the BART app, where you will need to link your Clipper Card number and license plate number. This is to ensure that you actually entered BART and aren't abusing the parking spaces reserved for BART riders. When paying for your spot, you input the number you parked in (located on the ground of your parking space), add your payment info, and you're good to go! It should be a pretty smooth and speedy process. I parked on the far end of the parking garage, so walking to and from the BART entrance was a bit far, but it was definitely doable. Like all BART stations, this location is equipped with kiosks to add value to your Clipper Card. There are escalators that take you to the upper level which is where you enter the train car. The train car had a frequency of 15 minutes during the time we were there, so it came pretty fast. Once we got in we were on our way!

And there were plenty parking stalls available as well. I also liked the close proximity of this Bart station to Downtown Concord. It made it super convenient for us to pick up foods or boba drinks on my way back from this Bart station. The train ride from Pleasant Hill Bart to this one was a bit long though with a few stops here and there. But other than that, everything seemed pretty good with this station. No complaints.

This leaves downtown Pleasant Hill's "across from the movie theater" parking garage as the #1 choice. Literally located across from the Century Theater on Crescent Drive, this parking garage is free, with some untimed spaces, and other spaces featuring decent time limits (enough to see a movie). Entrances are both on Crescent Drive and Contra Costa Blvd. The downside: this may be your #1 parking choice, but it's also the #1 choice for most other Pleasant Hill visitors and virtually the only choice for movie theater patrons. So at peak times you may have no better luck finding a space here than on the street. A prayer to the Parking Gods is always in order before a downtown Pleasant Hill visit.

The garage goes down 6 floors, and consists of 3 types of spaces: Visitors, Reserved, or Unmarked. Visitor spaces are for public access and visitors who are paying for parking. Reserved spots are for specific individuals who have paid to reserve that spot specifically for themselves. And lastly there are the unmarked spots further down the lot that are for regular employees of the offices above who hold a parking permit. The parking garage is fairly well lit and clean. And due to location and the manned security/parking attendant out front, not visited by random homeless people or unscrupulous individuals looking to commit nefarious deeds. Cost for this garage is the most affordable I've ever seen! Free parking for the first 3hrs, and then a flat cost of $2 for up to 24hrs of parking. The first day I visited our client in one of the offices above, I pulled in at 7am in the morning and there was no attendant at the booth. So I simply parked in a visitor's spot without even paying. All that resulted in was a note on my window asking that I not do it again or risk getting towed.
