Nice shopping mall, my first time here as I came here to eat and shop around. This mall has all storefronts filled up and is busy, so different from the shuttered SF Shopping center that closed down and Tanforan shopping to be closed for senior housing down on San Bruno area. This mall has so many jewelry stores, it's crazy! there's even a barber shop for men on first floor which was different. There's a JC Penny here and like walking around bring back old memories of stores I grew up with with Spenser, Sweet Factory store for sour patch kids candy, Hallmark, and life uniforms. I felt their food court had a strange layout as on first floor all their sweets where there and 2 main food places sushi and newly open Mexican in the mall. I know outside has the yummy BJs and Fusion Buffet. Yes, nice mall to visit and they have a Macys here with the perfume dept working the floor very hard. Perfume is quite expensive! read more

Great selection, however nothing interested me to come again on purpose. If I am around the vicinity, I would come to stroll around again, will not purposely drive over here. I've known this mall for decades. I remember back in the day this place was packed all the time - great stores, well run, great mall to go to. Hard to believe it's the same place. I don' t know if this mall is ever packed and it's not totally the mall's fault - buying stuff on line has really killed the brick-and-mortal stores in general and I get it. But holy smokes, the stores here - it's multiple variations of the same crap stores. Who buys this stuff? There are some stores that I absolutely cannot believe make enough money to stay open. They have to pay rent and employee salaries and make some sort of profit and you wonder how it's possible. If you go here and look around, you'll know what stores I'm talking about. I was walking around here yesterday was just amazed at the absolute garbage stores. One "kitsch" store (and there are many) proudly displayed some poster about "stupid people" by its entrance that you could buy - for people to buy to make fun of stupid people - yet literally the only people who would buy this are the people it makes fun of. And you can't walk into these stores because the second you do the employee is on you. Like Blockbuster where every employee had to greet you and see if you need anything. I just want to look around without being bothered but it's not possible in these stores. They have so little people in them, when an employee does get someone they hover. You do still have some good stores - Macys of course, an old standby with good stuff - you can't go wrong with a Macys. Even JC Penneys is still here (I didn't even know they were still around). The Sears finally went out and to no one's surprise, they couldn't care less about that store for years now. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. And the clientele walking around. You have your people of all ages and races which you want to see. California is represented well at this mall and I like that. And of course your thugs always wasting time walking around - disturbs me seeing these guys. I guess the mall can't do anything about them but yeah, they're here. On the plus side, the mall is super clean. I'd like to hope that this mall, one of the malls I've been to for decades will still be around for a long time but honestly, if this thing still exists in three years I'd be shocked. read more

While I was in town, I came by here to get my steps in. Can't believe another year has gone by. I see photos with Santa decor again. No one was in line taking photos. While I was taking a photo of the entire setup, Santa was waving at me lol. . I waved back. Now is the best time to get your Santa photo taken as there is no line of you want a photo with Santa. I haven't been to a mall in years. Talk about 80s-90s nostalgia, with Sears, JC Penney, and American Eagle! Great food court options and overall a chill vibe. Absolutely a beautifully large, mall with many choices from clothing, shoes, novelty and dining. The clerks in most of the stores and food court are attentive, kind and knowledgeable of products. A great place with many excellent deals for your family or friends to browse, play and eat! My family and I love to sometimes split up between stores, eat at all the delicious choices of food court and play at Round One arcade together. Just had my daughter's 11th birthday here. We did a Mall Scavenger hunt! It was awesome and one of the best party's we have had. This was the best mall to do this in! The mall staff was grate; the mall was clean and full of shoppers. I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all stores that made this happen for her, without your participation, this wouldn't have happened. I went into 11 stores total. I purchased something small for all 4 girls, and they even bagged them separately, so each girl had her own bag. The store employees kept it at the counters till the girl found the correct store, then gave the bags to the girls after they said the code word. Thank you to footlocker and Lids for allowing me to drop bags off so you could participate. That really helped me out financially!! BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU TO...... This is a very strange mall in the Bay Area and probably the only one in Concord. It still has a Sears which adds the the quality of the place. This also includes the ugly looking parking garage near the Sears. The food court has overpriced food and as a result there is a lot of places to sit. Even on a Saturday, this mall is near deserted. Seems to be a good place to go if you got young kids but for everyone else this place is rather dull. Glad to know they have a uniqlo and H&M but those are run of the mill stores. Nothing very interesting. Unlike other reviews I have no issues with foul people. There were no troublesome teens and creepy customers. Will not come here again because unlike Valley Fair in San Jose, this place is representative of what's wrong with shopping centers in small communities. read more

Quality/Quantity - Does not seem like a popular mall. Has many brands from my childhood: Macys, Sears, etc. We only bought from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, see other Yelp. Atmosphere - Good size mall. Narrow and long. Approximately 152 businesses. 26 of them are food businesses. Plenty of parking, but be aware of car break-ins; see picture of sign. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 8pm, and Sundays from 11am to 7pm. Events - See website. Service - Okay. Price - Depends on what you buy. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 1967. This is a review specifically about the photos with Santa. We paid extra for a reservation time. They started 30 min late and then allowed multiple groups of people who didn't have reservations go ahead the rest of us. They had PLENTY of time to have gotten the people out of the reservation line but chose to do the wrong thing and let them go ahead. We paid more for reservations and had to wait more time for these people to pick out their packages and pay (all the reservation people had already done that). Poorly managed and run. $72 for a picture that was out of focus. We will NOT be returning. read more

A good size mall. The interior reminds me somewhat of the Solano mall in Fairfield. I've only been to the here once and only had one picture taken back in the day when I used to decide in NorCal 8 years ago. There are some stores available here and not at the Solano mall. I haven't been to Sun Valley Shopping Center in years and was there for lunch on a Tuesday at Red Robins. After lunch, I decided to walk off my lunch by talking a walk through the two level mal around 2pm. I didn't realize there were 139 stores and restaurants here. Walking through the mall, they were mostly non-name brand stores. But I did see Uniqlo, H&M and Vans and their main anchor stores, Macy's, JC Penney's and Sears. I thought all the Sears had closed and decided to check it out since it was my go-to store for Craftsman tools and gardening tools and appliances. I did notice there was no longer a gardening section and the Craftsman tool section was limited. The store was so empty and saw two customers. There's a food court for those wanting to grab a bite to eat. The mall was very quiet and had very little people in it. But I guess it will serve those looking for the certain stores located here. I was over at the Veranda on the other side of the freeway and this newer outdoor mall was busier with customers. read more

This was my first time coming to this mall. We were here in search of shoes and luckily, most of the shoe stores were in the same wing of the mall, albeit on two different levels. The mall has a central stair case and lift that makes it easy to move between levels. On the lower level, there is a section with steps, but also a ramp for those with mobility issues. We were here during a weekday afternoon, but it was still busy. It didn't look like there were many empty stores. Some dining sections of the of the food court were closed, and the restrooms were fairly clean. There were plenty of parking spaces, but that was probably because the spaces are barely wide enough for a full sized car. read more

Sunvalley is still kicking in a time where malls just aren't thriving anymore. People buy stuff off Amazon. This is a real deal mall. I guess to me that means there is a Macys. There is also a popular restaurant and countless other businesses... and its indoor. A good place for young kids with too much time to hang around. Maybe also a destination if you live in Berkeley or Oakland as there aren't too many traditional malls around. Competitors include Bayfair mall and Stonridge - in San Leandro and Pleasanon. There is a benefit to buying things in person. No worries about porch pirates.... And you can touch and feel things before you purchase them. read more

This is a okay shopping mall. One day after New Year's Day and there's plenty of parking. I'd say 90% of the stores are open. Good selection of shops, the standard mall fair. I do not recommend the Macy's at this mall. It is a disorganized train wreck. I like the red robin. read more

I attempted to exchange as they will do no refunds. it states clearly on the receipt that they do exchanges within 14 days if in original condition! I have not taken it out of the bag since last night, so the dress is in its original condition. When I called the supposedly corporate phone number the person hangs up on you! What kind of unprofessional business is this? 925-695-2593. This business is Ratchet and should be out of business! As I am from Pittsburg, the Sunvalley Mall is the closest mall I have available. I love it because it's a beautiful mall, with a lot of parking and stores available inside. In fact, it has 2 floors, with premium stores, a food court and miscellaneous things to shop for. Honestly, an elite mall. I love coming here weekdays, as it's not too busy like the weekends, and there are always good deals going on. My favorite store is FYE, and I always gotta buy something from Sunvalley Mall. I always come with friends, family and loved ones I also recommend checking out the Things Remembered, where you can buy beautiful things for your loved ones. I hope this mall stays as successful and busy as it has all these years, because it's an East Bay beauty! read more

I had a little surprise when I walked into Sunvalley Shopping Center. This has been a shopping mall in Concord for so many years. They're still very busy, and most of the spaces are occupied. You can say they are busy because of the holiday season. But 95% of the spaces have tenants in there. A Sears store is still open in this location! The building looks very old outside. But still okay when you're inside the shopping mall. Most of the stores are well maintained. The restaurants are pretty busy too. I am happy to see Sunvalley Shipping Center is still doing good. I hope they'll keep attracting people there and keep themselves updated with the world's changes. read more

The mall has gone through changes within the years. With the addition of the food court this mall does attract plenty of people. Stores have open and also have gone out of business. The mall does hold events for children to get involve. The mall has been in the news as of late but that is not stopping people from going there. With Safeway and Nordstrom Rack nearby I enjoy the walk through the parking garage at JCPenny. Business is not affected with Veranda nearby. Sun Valley Mall is still going strong read more

AVOID PAC SUN! Today I went with my daughter to exchange an item at Pac Sun without a receipt. They would only exchange the sweatshirt with the tag still in for 50% of what it's worth.. they said that it's because it's another brand. What a scam! Stop by here looking for some new clothes shirts and jeans and socks and hats. They have a decent amount of stores here pretty empty if you go during the daytime I noticed. Was able to make some purchases and find some new outfits and also stop by the food court and picked up some delicious food. Lots of different stores to shop from will be coming back to do some Christmas shopping soon. I would say for the most part most of the stores have good service and the value of the items are not to outrageously overpriced. read more

That phone repair stand by the Asian restaurant and skate park, they sell faulty parts. He fixed my cracked iPhone screen but it's not comparable with iPhone so now my touchscreen is extremely laggy and buggy. I paid over 100 and couldn't get a refund. I remember during my early childhood days, we would go to this mall a lot, back when a lot of the good stores were there, such as now-defunct stores The Spot, Sports Authority, Suncoast Motion Picture, 20/20 Fashion, The Children's Place, and more you can think of. I also remember the old food places including Sbarro, the sushi place (I forgot the name), Johnny Rocket's and more. This mall has certainly evolved in a good way and a bad way. The good: New stores came in the present day that I never heard of until my teen years. For example, I never heard of Uniqlo until I was 14-15 years old. And F.Y.E. (a store related to pop culture), I never heard of until I was 18. I still see stores that have been staying including Abercrombie, Hollister, Forever 21, variety of shoe stores including Foot Locker, Macy's, J.C. Penny and more. The bad: A lot of the good stores left as time went by. And the food court underwent one heck of a refurbishment, thus no more Sbarro, although they still have McDonald's, Andersen's Bakery and Cafe, Cinnabon, Starbucks. This mall needs big-time refurbishment, in terms of cleaning the crevices of floors and walls, less sticky tables in the food court and more that you can think of. This mall also needs to have stores that certain cities in Cali have that we don't have. But overall, the mall is decent, still standing strong. read more

Lousy parking. The selection of stores dwindling and I was disappointed. I intended to go to Macys and then hit up a few other places. Macys was either being renovated, down sizing or closing.
