I scheduled a tour that was confirmed by someone, I presume at their corporate location. I then called the location with a question- only to be told all tours were cancelled. Was also told one of the management teams would call me. Maybe 30 minutes later I received another confirmation text. I phoned the person (not in their central location) to tell them that location was not accepting any more parents. Received information (i.e., tuition, communication apps) and was told I would be taken off the list to be text? No one has reached out to me. If this school is this uncommunicative and disorganized in the face of emergency. I completely understand protecting the littles but don't like the way I was handled. I'm already emotional enough about leaving my babe. I'm almost 100% positive I can't trust them with my baby.

Fast forward to 2021.. My son is now 4 and due to the pandemic, we opted to keep him home with us for most of 2020. We finally decided it was time for our little boy to return to what we remembered was our safe place, our son's home away from home.. We knew it was going to be challenging for him to adjust to the all the new faces and to building a new relationship with his new teacher and head director in the preschool building.. At first, we felt very good about them working with him to get back in to the routine but after about a week, we were advised that our son had started using bad language after an "explosion" of bad language had occurred in the classroom of 4-5 year olds (my son being the youngest).. We had thought things were improving until we got another call that our child was using VERY BAD language.. And to our surprise, his teacher had actually taken the time to record him on two different days using said language - words and phases that are not used in our home and that had clearly been picked up in their class as confirmed by the director. My question is, why was she continually recording him and not redirecting him? it was almost as if she was creating a show or needed to prove how "bad" my son was.. So that's only one issue we had.. For weeks, our son would tell us about another child that continually would kick and punch him daily. One day, he actually came home with a HUGE knot on his forehead. No phone call, no report. I let it go.. When we would address our concerns about the other child hitting and kicking our son, we were told the little boy was "special" and didn't like to play with other children and so when our son would try to engage him in playtime, the other child would lash out. We then realized our son needed to be taught about boundaries and had constant pep talks with him before leaving him at school.. Then one day, I decided to check in on my child through Watch Me Grow - a video platform that allows you to view your child's classroom - THANK GOODNESS. Because if I had not witnessed what happened, my son might have continued to get bullied and treated unfairly without regard.. While his teacher was having circle time, my son was nowhere to be found.. Ahh but then I noticed the single stall bathroom door was open with anther child standing in front of it and threw a large object inside the restroom.. Out comes the child that had been harrassing my child, skipping happily out and my son following behind, holding his head.. What I witnessed next was his teacher pulling my son aside, ignoring the other child who threw the object.. and when i called and spoke with the director, she had withdrawn my child from the classroom so I could let my son know what i was watching him and knew he was not participating in class.. My concern wasn't why he wasn't participating in circle time but why were there multiple children in the restroom and why did the other child get away with throwing a large object at my son..? Out of control. Obviously, the teacher needed help as she couldn't get a handle on her classroom. My son was hurt and neglected all the while, the director of the preschool building was trying to tell me he was fine. So when I showed up within 30 minutes, my son was not outside with the other children, but kept inside for whatever reason... I could tell he had been crying.. AND he had a hematoma on his forehead. No incident report. Needless to say, we have permanently withdrawn our child from The Children's Courtyard on Longenbaugh. We are hurt and disappointed in how son was treated.. but we will persevere by continuing to love and help our son grow in a more positive environment.

I loved seeing some of my students begin to score perfect scores on their math and science exams, and even to see some students graduate high school and attend amazing universities such as Baylor and the University of Texas at Austin. On a second occasion they sent my child with black eyes and pretended it was accident and refused to share the details of what happened. The breaking point happened when they sent an email asking us to not bring our child to the daycare anymore because of shoving another child. I called them to ask why did our child shove another child? They said well, that child attacked first and took an item from your child, but your child didn't respond properly by asking the teacher for help and just shoved that child and retrieved the item by force. This is definitely not a place for people of color. They are full of racist BS and only good at collecting money without any accountability. They will call you to come and take your child if they hear any sneeze, or see a glimpse of a bored child, or not taking a nap...etc. of endless BS of just picking up on certain ones. By the way, most of their reviews on google are fake. Stacey and her staff were reporting this same review to google for removal and wrote 3 other fake reviews of 5 stars as a replacement in less than one day to keep themselves highly rated place. My husband and I selected a place and quickly realized there were challenges with management, turnover, and the general care of our children, and we knew we needed a change. Our kids were not being cared for. When we learned about Five Star through a neighbor and took a tour of the facility, we were convinced it was the place for us. Stacey Lowry, the Director of Five Star, made us feel at home, and we could tell she generally cares about our kids and wants them to succeed. I was hooked! Since then, we have experienced several teachers who have loved and nurtured our kiddos as they have moved from room to room. At such a young age the kids are exposed to various learning activities that teaches them all sorts of things from fossils to meditation. As an elementary school teacher for 7 years I can't stress how important it is that children start elementary school with a good foundation. Kindercare offers just that. At the age of 2 my daughter knows her shapes, her colors, how to count to 30, her alphabet, letter sounds, the days of the week, the months of the year and so much more. I know that when she starts pre-k or kindergarten, she will be more than ready. Everyday when I pick her up she tells me all that she did that day and she tells me about all of her classmates and teachers. Being able to interact with different kids and teachers has been invaluable to her social development and the development of her communication skills. Most importantly my daughter enjoys being there. My family and I love the app because we get to see my daughter during the day. The pictures and videos are a testament to all that they do there. I am beyond appreciative of all the staff members that have interacted with my daughter and have even facilitated/ helped with her potty training journey!
