I finally stopped by a couple weeks ago & got my mother some brisket, she'd been wanting to try it. I don't think I've ever seen brisket sliced that thin, it was like deli sandwich ham. Taste was low mid. Yesterday, I decided to stop by after work & try their chicken wings. There was one car in front of to me & nobody inside. Only had to wait about 4 minutes & ordered 6 wings, fries, Mac & cheese, & 2 drinks for $27! I sat there for 38 minutes before I got my order! No apology, no excuse, just here's your order, have a nice day. The whole time I was there (Friday evening), I only saw 4 other customers in line or inside & there was at least 4 people working, so it's not like they were swamped with orders or shorthanded. That long & for that much money, it had better be a 5 star meal. I get home & see there's 2 sandwich style clamshell styrofoam containers & a single 4 ounce styrofoam ramekin. I opened the ramekin & the Mac & cheese did not look appealing at all. I tasted it & there was pretty much zero flavor. I can't tell you when I've had Mac that bland. I opened the side of fries & there might've been about 20 fries. The serving wasn't much more than a McDonald's small fry for comparison. I opened the wings & they were average size & looked pretty decent (by now I'd fully anticipated the little parakeet wings like Zaxby's). I tried them but was definitely not impressed. The sauce, Sweet & Hot, was mildly sweet but no spice or heat at all & it tasted like basic Kraft sauce off the grocery shelf. For the cost & time I could have spent another 10 minutes & driven to Florence & gotten better food & bigger servings for much less $$. I really hate that it was such a bad experience, especially after the previous less than stellar experience. I love small businesses & really had high hopes for something new for Sumter. read more

Visited for lunch when they first opened a couple years back, brisket i was served was a pile of chopped dry mound of meat...not good. Friends convenced me to try again, so i went today. Brisket was sliced this time but real dry. Mac n chesse was good and fried okra was fair. Rice and hash not good. In short. Spent +$30 to eat some mac and cheese...ended up throwing rest away...talked to a couple guys who ordered behind me and said theirs came out moist, said the workers gave them a fresh brisket, and they had made mine out of stuff they had from earlier that day laying out under a heat lamp...glad they got good brisket but i wont be giving them a 3rd chance...nice servers but have had 2 bad experiences and at the cost of BBQ, i cant go back read more

This review is for their new restaurant in Summerton. I've basically enjoyed it so far but their BBQ has nothing on McCabe's. The one thing I would stress to the owners is consistency in product. Burger before last was excellent and fries were just right. Tonight was a polar opposite. I will say their brisket is some of the best I've had. Unfortunately I'm not a brisket fan. I think we came in on a weird day. Unsure. Google reviews show this place pretty high, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is small but cozy. Wonderful staff, I cannot stress that enough. Very accommodating. The food was not what we expected. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. We tried the buffet, which.. was okay. It's hard to see what you are choosing because of the small windows in the buffet line. I felt like the food was a bit bland. They were out of some items too which didn't make it great. Fried chicken was amazing though, and buffet does come with a dessert. So that was a plus. Overall, not impressed with it. But again.. maybe came in at a weird time. read more

This review is in regards to their business practices. I drove 45 minutes to an outdoor event in Lugoff with Twisted Pig advertised as the food truck. I've never had their bbq and we were hungry when we arrived. The event itself was great but the food truck never showed up! Apparently they didn't even tell the lady putting on the event that they weren't going to fulfill their part of the vendor contact she had with them. Tons of people were hungry and thirsty. Just letting you know that after signing a contract and confirming their attendance several times, they still left the event high and dry without a word to the company putting on the event.
