Receipt showing the item was to be picked up at the UPS store for free.

This store (Ninth St) charges $5 hold fees for packages, even if they are FREE UPS STORE PICKUP! Avoid! Use the Meadowmont (Chapel Hill) or Apex location. Even if your order receipt says free shipping to UPS store, this particular store charges a $5 hold fee regardless of the size of the package. Calling to complain means being interrupted and told that this is a franchisee so they can do whatever they want. The cashiers will not ask for verification that the item was listed as free UPS store pickup, they will just charge you the $5 per package fee in order to retrieve your package. Yes, it's just $5, but here's the thing. There is no recourse. The employees just say the manager can charge what they want, and UPS.com is different from these franchisee stores. All of the other local UPS stores do not charge this fee and made it clear to me that they are not allowed to charge it if is an item indicated as free UPS store pickup. I think this manager is hoping that nobody is going to take any time to complain or post information about this ridiculous policy since it is only $5 but it adds up, and for an item that costs less than $10, paying $5 for UPS to hold it when it was supposed to be free pickup is absurd.

That terrible staff member's terrible handwriting

I paid extra to get a next day delivery so my important documents could arrive safely and on time. Its expected delivery date was 12/8, however today is 12/22 and I still haven't received the package. This was all because the staff member with brown curly hair and black glasses in the office got the sending and receiving information wrong!!! I have to cancel my flight tickets and hotel reservations because of her mistake, but she didn't even apologize to me. I went to their office at least five more times to look for my package but the staff at site were not helpful. The same staff with brown hair gave me the wrong customer service number when I asked her for help, and the manager refused to tell me that staff's name. No apology, no refund, still don't know where my package is. The worst Christmas I've ever had!!!

They have the wrong suite number when they handed it out. I tried to set up forwarding based on the…read moresuite number they gave me "101" but it didn't go through. USPS said that the location is set up as Ste 5. This has caused a lot of issues and now I need to figure out what to do. Very rude individuals that tell you to talk to the manager who is never there. They give you a number to call but it's the store number Also several times you go they will have it locked with a sign that says "Be back in 10 minutes" Would highly recommend going elsewhere

This UPS Store is located in the Gateway Terrace shopping center, next to Freddy's. It's not directly accessible from 15-501. You have to enter the shopping center from the back. This isn't my normal UPS Store. I stopped here because it was convenient to other errands I happened to be running in the area. I had a package of Nespresso capsules for recycling. The package was sealed and ready to ship with a prepaid UPS shipping label. I normally drop these in a UPS drop box, but this particular package was too big to fit into a drop box. The employee weighed it, scanned it, and handed me a receipt. The last time I dropped off one of these Nespresso packages at a UPS Store (different location), the staff just took it from me and that was it. This store's method was more thorough, but took more time. Instead of being in and out in seconds, I was in and out in minutes. Not a big deal. Fast, either way. I visited on a Saturday around 2:30pm. There were two employees working up front and they were firing on all cylinders. During my brief visit, the store was moderately busy and the staff churned through customers at a good pace. On Saturdays, this location closes at 4:00pm (as of the time of my visit). Keep in mind UPS Store hours vary by location.

I have to mention that I actually called initially 2 weeks before that but had to wait for the 811 service to come and mark the ground because I was moving the mailbox to a different location. Although I didn't buy my mailbox from them directly (I had already ordered everything I needed from Lowe's) when Tyler initially came by to install my mailbox, we discovered that the bronze metal 4 inch numbers ended up not being able to fit on the mail box post area intended for their display. I was heartbroken. These numbers matched the ones on my house, and I did not want to downsize or change the font type. Tyler brainstormed an idea where he would custom build side planks from scraps wood that he had at the shop and would cover them using flashing like you use on a house so that they would be as resilient as the polyurethan post and match almost perfectly and would require little maintenance. Not only was this custom it was an inexpensive as he charged only $20 to make the planks. He sent me a mockup during the workday for my approval and was I so happy that he was even able to attach them the way I preferred, vertically on the post. He took my supplies with him and assembled my mailbox at the shop reducing the time needed to install at my home to less than an hour. He was knowledgeable, professional and easy to talk to. He even swapped out the mailbox mount plate because the one I purchased was too small for the XL mailbox that I bought. The concrete was included and he removed my old mailbox and disposed of it for free. He thought of things that I did not, like saving the soil from the new hole to fill the old hole from the previous spot and kept a perfect plug of grass to make the old hole look like it was never there! I had a wonderful experience with this service and if I come across anyone needing a new mailbox in his service area I will gladly recommend him. Look at how wonderful my mailbox turned out. Worth every penny! Thank you so much Tyler!
