I visit this location at least once or twice a week and its just awful. First off the staff cannot keep up with the demands of the customer base in this area no matter how many new members they hire. Secondly, stop treating the customers like garbage because you feel hassled they are shipping large packages. Your job is to accept items, pack them and ship them, thats it, dont comment on how large an item is, stop hassling customers because we dont understand changes with Amazons shipping policies, and treat us with respect and practice customer service. I was appalled witnessing the owner/manager of this place going off on a customer because the guy didn't understand Amazons new policies which changed recently. This is the worst UPS store I have ever been to. The people who work there are complete jerks and unprofessional. My husband went to fax something and they were having a hard time with sending it. They said he didn't have the correct phone number. He had the correct number and even called where he was sending it to verify it. STAY AWAY! On a previous visit awhile back, the owner's rudeness shocked me but I chucked it up to maybe he was having a bad day. Nope. Several trips after and I caught on quickly. He goes out of his way to irritate customers. His name is Ken Weber, the owner of the Franklin Village UPS, and he is the most condescending person I've ever encountered. One time, on a Sunday, there were a few of us waiting outside as they were just about to open. It is the only location that is open on Sundays so there is little choice in locations if you want to ship something on a Sunday. In that short period of time, everyone of us in line said we would never go there if it wasn't open on Sundays - - the only complaint (from each of us) was the owner and his utter rudeness. We had all had previous experiences with him. Apparently, he is well-known in a very negative way. This location is an Amazon Return Center as well. If you want your return package handled properly, this is not the return center for you. What you will witness, if you do go there, is a total lack of respect. He throws the packages into their bins or around the overflowing bins with no care whatsoever. He does this right IN FRONT OF YOU! His gall is incredible. Unfortunately, there's more. The owner of this Franklin, MA location must get a thrill out of making people wait. I walked in one time and he looked toward me when the bell rang as I opened the door. He was the only one there and I was the only customer. He walked into the back room and so I waited for him to come back. He didn't. Now, I know he saw me & heard the bell. Now I am irritated but calmly waited some more. I felt the game if you know what I mean. Eventually, I called out "Helllooooo". He pokes his head from behind the wall and says, "Oh, I didn't know anyone was here." Typically, if someone said this, I'd understand. However, if you read the other negative reviews, you will conclude that he gets off on making his customers wait. Another time, the woman in front of me in line was the 'un-lucky' one. We had been waiting in the long line and now she was the next one up. He finished with his current customer, looked up at her, she takes a step, and without one word, he walks to the back room, and then over to the packing supplies for sale, pretends to organize and blatantly ignores us as we all just look at each other in shock. His total lack for customer satisfaction is very clear. His rudeness is shocking which I believe he enjoys. If he reads this, I am confident he will not 'get' the message. So, my most recent visit... I went in with a box that already had the shipping label on it. I just needed one 12" piece of tape to seal it. Apparently, there is an upcharge/service fee of $2. I may have considered it except for his (Ken Weber's) attitude. I explained that another UPS store did it for me. He responds, "Not here. This fee has been in place since Covid." I took my box back to my car and taped it up with old UPS receipts that I had in the glove box and then walked back in, patiently waited in line again, and handed over my sealed box. I don't think he was thrilled when he overhead me say, "I thought outside of the box." I don't like to be petty but I didn't want to pay $2 for a piece of tape nor did I want to make a return trip to the store. The gratification was well worth it. Another reviewer had the same experience but worse. If you scroll down, I'm sure you'll find it. He said, "...that I would have a $2 charge for taping my package. The lady in front gave me her tape and he yelled I still was going to be charged $2 because I walked in with it opened!!! The lady who gave me the tape said she gave it to me! Didn't matter, he wanted his lousy $2!!! I could/should have said a lot of things but being Christmas, I let it go but I will not go back into that store!!! This would have gotten ZERO stars, but not allowed". I can only conclude that his patronizing attitude and condescending behavior boils down to insecurity, fear, need for self-importance and/or arrogance. He went for the bundle package. In short, he is a bully to his customers. This review is a long time coming. I am glad to see that other reviewers with similar negative experiences with this Franklin, MA location owner didn't wait to post. This UPS Store franchise does not stand behind its work, failed to tell me the truth on multiple occasions and are not the packaging experts they claim to be. On 11/27/2021 I went into UPS Store #738 at the Benjamin Franklin Plaza in Franklin Massachusetts with a pair of Floorstanding Loudspeakers to have them packaged for shipping and shipped to Houston, TX. I had lengthy in person conversations with the employee about what I was shipping, there weight and value and how my primary concern was that they arrive safely in Houston. These were a pair of Polk Audio LSi 15's purchased new for $1500 and which I had sold on Ebay for just under $640. These conversations took place on the 26th when I stopped in to discuss packaging and shipping these speakers and again on the 27th when I showed up with them to have them packaged/shipped. They assured me that they "had this" and knew just how to package them and get them there safely. I paid them $217.95 for the packaging, shipping, and insurance ($500 coverage). I already had one shipping label purchased from and provided through Ebay for one on the boxes (each speaker was boxed separately) and I purchased the other from the UPS Store. On 12/7/2021 I was notified that the speakers had arrived damaged, and that the buyer had asked for refund. I refunded the buyers $640. On 12/8/2021 I went to the UPS Store to ask that they reimburse me for my shipping and packaging costs and for the loss of $640 sale. In spite of the fact that the one of the speakers was destroyed (I provided photographs of this) the employee and the owner steadfastly denied any responsibility and insisted the packaging followed their guidelines and that he "wouldn't do anything differently". I was also now informed that the insurance I paid for was only on the box for which they provided the shipping label. This was astounding to me as I would, of course, not insure only one of a pair of anything, let alone high-end speakers. They further indicated that they could not determine which box (whose label?) was the damaged speaker and that without that certainty I should file a claim directly with UPS on my own. The owner felt the responsibility for this damage lay completely with carrier, UPS and not with him and/or the packaging they provided. I filed that claim with UPS and UPS denied my claim. The reason provided by UPS for denial was "improper packaging". Here is a copy and paste from the UPS denial email: When damage occurs, UPS inspects the package and evaluates the packaging according to our packaging guidelines which include the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) 3A Test Procedures for small parcel delivery shipments, published by the ISTA. Your packaging did not meet these guidelines. UPS is not liable or responsible for loss or damage to any package from improper packaging. The evaluation revealed the following deficiencies in the packaging that was for this shipment. The new, double-wall, corrugated shipping container with no visible box maker's certificate was not sufficient to support the package weight. · Recommendation: Use a new, double-wall, corrugated shipping container with a 275-lbs-per-square-inch burst strength or non-U.S. equivalent. · The large cell bubble sheeting, paper carton used for cushioning did not adequately protect the merchandise. · Recommendation: Consider using one of the following options: 1) A designed soft foam system using Polyethylene, Polypropylene, or Polyurethane. These foams are specifically designed and typically pre-engineered around the dimensions and weight of the product. 2) Foam-in-place or foam-in-bag system formed by a chemical mixture that expands and forms a protective mold around contents. 3) Double-boxing or over-boxing is an effective method of protecting fragile items where the original packaging is not suitable for shipment by a carrier, like UPS, that use manual and automated distribution systems. I went back into the UPS Store on 12/8/2021 and presented the owner with this Claim Denial Letter from UPS as well as the aforementioned photographic proof and he still insisted he bore no responsibility for the loss. He excused himself to "call UPS and get this decision overturned" and disappeared into the back room for several minutes. Upon his return he assured me that UPS had reversed their decision and would call me in a day or two to give me payment details. Having not heard from UPS by 12/11/2021 I called them. They had no record of a call from this manager or any dispute of this denial. I could not give a ZERO rating so had to choose 1. On 10/18, I shipped two boxes that I paid over $100.00 for to the Franklin MA UPS store. I marked both boxes fragile and even Before I left the store the clerk literally took one of the boxes and flung it to the floor behind the counter. So I am not sure why I was so shocked that upon arrival one was completely destroyed and the contents trashed, as well as late. In an attempt to get a refund, I went to the Franklin UPS store multiple times but this store will is severely understaffed and waited up to as long as 30 minutes in line. So when I made my final attempt to rectify the situation on 11/5 at 3:15 PM I was put off by the staff, one older gentleman in particular, who made me wait for twenty minutes while the two other staff members assisted all other customers and he meticulously helped a woman who went back and forth to her car to get Amazon returns that she did not know she could return. Then when the store was completely empty of any other customers the 'manager/owner' addressed me and informed me of several things: 1. When you go to a UPS store, you can not assume that you package will be shipped by UPS because they outsource. 2. That unless UPS packages your items, they don't guarantee that your package gets to its destination unscathed. So there is more money in their pockets for the cost of their shipping materials. 3. That you only have 15 days from shipping an item to file a claim for a refund, which is a LIE; it is 15 days from the date of receipt, which happens to be today for me, but there is NO way I will visit this store again as the staff are disrespectful and the manager is a bully! So I guess my day will be spent on the phone with corporate getting the run around again. read more

I must admit that the wait was long as the notary was busy with someone else.. however, the owner came out (also a notary) and helped us (me and the person behind me) get our stuff done. This is the worst UPS Store I have ever been to. it amazes me that anyone uses this place. Twice I have tried to do Amazon returns here. First time by daughter brought a return in for me. Amazon says "bring it unpackaged". I have used UPS stores in other areas and never an issue. When my daughter went into this one he charged her $12.00 to repackage in a used box. She is young and did not know better and paid it. Two weeks later I went in with another return and he tried to charge me. I refused and he refused to accept the return. The UPS Store - Printing Services Near Me - Franklin, Massachusetts

I want to like this place for its convenience to my place of work; however, they are the slowest and most over-priced mail solution ever. If you are conducting any USPS (post office) business, other than dropping off a flat pre-stamped envelope, you will be over-charged by appx 150% than if you had just gone to the post office up the street. Additionally, the antiquated methods of this shop owner are absolutely mind-boggling. You bring in an addressed and pre-packed shipment, sealed up and ready to go. You then have to fill out some form, by hand, that literally has all the same information as the package you literally just handed him! He then takes that form you just filled in and enters it into the machine. WHY?! You had my package with that info in front of you all along. Which brings me to the other thorn in my side: if you are in need of behind-the-counter service, you will be here forever. I typically do not even walk in the store if there are more than 2 customers inside. Today I waited more than 10 minutes for 1 person ahead of me. This is the typical formula I see here... for each and every person in front of you, tack on another 15 additional minutes. Oh, and then you get to the counter and get to fill in forms and stuff... so there's another 15. FOREVER! The worst. I will never go to this place again, even though I walk by it every single weekday. read more
