Multiple issues, multiple different times experienced at this location. I've never been so frustrated just to drop off packages. I was told a box was $4.00 to ship and then upon check out it changed to $10. The explanation was after I got my receipt and when I asked why the price went up and it was said because they ran out of $4 boxes. He wasn't even going to let me know and honestly that cost shouldn't be pushed to the customer without them being notified. Then I came back to drop off more packages and they said they wouldn't be able to receive more packages because there's a limit on how many a customer can drop off in a day. Terrible. Customer service doesn't exist anymore. Teens running this place. Came in with a heavy box, clearly struggling, not once did they even look up to acknowledge me, let alone get the door. Had to come back with the big box again, in a different box, because it was wet and they couldn't take it. When I asked if I could get a box there and they didn't have the size I needed, I was told "idk go to Home Depot and get one." When it was my turn he looked at me and turned to the next person on line which was another white man. FYI he clocks out at 3pm and it was 245pm. It is ups stores like the one on wellwood ave Lindenhurst that really make shipping difficult. Go in to ship an Amazon return and I am told that I need to have a shipping label or they can charge me $3.50 to print one. Now I could have one mailed for $1.00, so they over charge and you could say since I am there it is convenient, I will pass and print my own label which I did so I head back and now I am told that they cant scan the label and if it cant be scanned the driver could have a problem but they could print me out one for $3.50 so I call BS to the thieving practice they are doing and I leave. Now befrore I print another shipping label I to find out was it the label or a scam? so I head to the UPS store on merrick rd in Massapequa. I walked in handed my package to the counterperson, she scanned it, handed me my receipt and thanked me for coming in. I thanked her back and said she was awesome! So why does one store have a problem and the other one does not? AS far as I am concerned the Lindenhurst store will scam you if they can. Got here at 9 AM, the time they opened. I ended up waiting on line in the cold for 25 minutes along with 8 others (including one worker) because they did not open on time. When the workers got there, they then continued to take their sweet time to open. I went to the store on Wellwood Avenue to have packed and ship two items, I was quoted one price (about half of what shipping cost) and agreed, I go to move my car, and the salesperson was on the phone with Walter, and he raised the price almost double. I reluctantly agreed, paid and then left. the next day I get a call from Walter (the owner) explaining that it can not ship in a cardboard box which is the way it was quoted and that a crate needs to be made. Feeling obligated, he says that he will ship it and only wants the cost of the wood. I was very frustrated as I was not paying for this item directly, and had to confirm the difference in the cost with the receiver. He also informed me that one of the two items WERE shipped which is more of an issue and shouldn't have been done without my consent. After not hearing from him, I go there two days later and the item was packed the original way I was quoted, in a cardboard box. He then proceeds to give me a sob story about how it should have cost more to ship and weasels more money out of me. it is now several days later and the item has not shipped out yet. I will NEVER go to this, or any other UPS store again for anything! read more

The older woman behind the counter is incredibly rude and condescending. They charged me $15 for a 1.5x1.5 passport photo. She was constantly on the employees making sure they charged every customer for each and every little thing. - even a bit of tape! I'm just so baffled that I had to write a review. Beware that if you don't tape your box you'll get scammed a dollar for the convenience. Meanwhile half the packages you drop off there through Amazon they tape and wrap anyways... it's honestly petty. For principal I'll go buy a small roll of boxing tape for 99 cents.. it's not a good way to do business. If It weren't for convience I wouldn't deal with the rude service in there. I would give it Zero Stars if I could. I stopped in on a Saturday to ship some expensive items and wanted to get them insured for $30k. UPS website says that you can insure up to $50k, so what is the issue? What a hassle, the Owner, Walter was called at home by the staff as he wasn't in the office yet. He wanted to speak to me on the phone and went on and on about how he had to look at items before they were shipped, they had to be packed a certain way, blah, blah, and that he had to go through my personal items, to look at them before they could be shipped. He also bad mouthed the UPS insurance group and said they were unreliable. I think Walter was the problem. After 45 minutes and a $910.00 credit back to my credit card card, I went to the US Post office insured and shipped my items no problem. This UPS store is a complete ripoff and a joke. I'll be contacting UPS headquarters for sure and also asking why the shipping rates and insurance rates are double at this UPS Store vs. what UPS posts online. Avoid this place at all costs! I was standing there with no one else in the store ,the young man walked right past me to put a tag on a chalk board and when he got around to helping me he told me the box was too small to ship and his boss would bite his head off if he took it ,the girl before she made a phone call again with no one in the store told me it was$10 to ship ,he came back with $11 ,no big deal ,then he tells me it has to be put in a larger box ,I said it's still $11 right ,1st he said yes but he had to open the box I brought , it was taped shut and asked me how to open it ,I said is this guy for real? You work with boxes all day and you don't know how to open a taped box?Then he said forget it and the larger box would be another $5 , I never had so many problems shipping something so I said forget it ,I threw the shipping paper in the garbage and went to the post office ,cost me $5 total,I learned my lesson ,I will never go back to this store again ,If you don't like your job you should move on to a job you actually like read more

Just wanted to drop off a postage paid box and needed a small piece of tape to fix a corner. Literally a 2 inch piece, the young gentleman said no problem. This much older woman ran up to the counter and advised me it would be $1, or I can buy a roll. It's not like she even said it nicely. After pulling my jaw off the floor of how rude this woman was. I left. Never again. The sad part is I have been coming here for years and one of my close friends told me that this older woman is not very nice. And I even defended the store. During these times of COVID - three people at a time allowed in the store for safety and ALL the packages piling up in this store due to shipping returns, it's got to be stressful. The employees (owner and his wife and the young people who work there) are essential workers and put themselves in harm's way every day. This happens to be a very busy store. My experience has always been good here with the staff pleasant and accommodating - in the week between Christmas and New Year's, there didn't seem to be a spare inch of space for another box and I had a big one that needed to be picked up. First they told me no, but then, moved some things in the back and took it. I think it's important to put things into perspective and have patience right now. Often I see three customers at the counter while two more wait behind by the door when the sign outside clearly states THREE PEOPLE INSIDE AT A TIME - that means wait outside - also don't go in with a friend or family member, because then only one other person can be served. Yes, it's cold outside, however it's not worth spreading COVID to each other. Let's let these people do their jobs. We're all in this together. read more

I was going to create a lengthy post (a binder I sent was completely warped upon arrival; pages ripped out and a ring broken), but it's not worth my time. Initially, after contacting the UPS store, they were apologetic and were willing to rectify the issue. However, things turned for the worst when the owner got on the phone. The owner refused to acknowledge that the store had any fault in destroying the binder, even though they were the ones who packed the binder. Things escalated, and he ultimately told my sister, who was sending the binder on my behalf, to shut up and that my sister should respect him because he is older than her. To the owner: Is that really something a man that is older, and therefore supposedly much wiser, would have done? Over something that could have been resolved by simply offering to refund the $15 delivery cost and possibly the $15 binder? $30 dollars doesn't hurt you, but I am relieved that the package never made it to the intended recipient in the first place because first impressions are everything. Buyer beware: Don't send something from this UPS location if you intend that the recipient receives it intact and in the condition in which you gave it to the UPS location. And definitely do not trust that they will competently package it for you. read more

I brought 12 boxes to this location and after watching me bring in all 12 and waiting on line I was refused with no explanation and told to go to the UPS Hub in Farmingdale.
