Today, the store owner actually called McCall PD after saying I was trespassing in her store. The woman who owns this store is the same one many others have left negative reviews about. All I was asking to do was pick up some mail for my elderly parents who use the store for their P.O. Box. They had requested this via email to the store a month ago, providing a forwarding address, but got no response. Anyhow, I met the police officer outside the store and explained the situation. He was very nice and reasonable to talk to. Since the owner claimed trespass, I can't go back in the store, so I guess it's up to my 86 year old father to deal with the owner. Dad mentioned he is contacting the ID attorney general. He is feisty, and Karma is a beyatch. read more

Every suggestion is answered with "We can't do that, or I'll get to it when I have time" A suggestion would be to offer what they CAN do for you. I had a bad experience trying to get a few pages printed here. I found the location online and started a print order on what I thought was the website for the local store. It had the store number correct and the street address. The website let me upload my documents and pay for my order. But, when I went to the store location, they claimed that they are not connected to the national chain and had no way of getting my order. When I checked the Ups store website again, the phone number listed for this store doesn't answer and there's no customer service help for UPS other than for package delivery. This printshop is a scam and I need to reverse the charge on my credit card. read more

I live in New Meadows. I occasionally (perhaps two or three times a year) need to send a package via UPS. I appreciate that there is a UPS store in McCall. My consistent experience at the McCall UPS Store has been that I'm the least important person in the store each time I'm there. Today, the lady at the counter (associate, employee, whatever the correct term is) asked me for my phone number, and as I was speaking, another person came in and started speaking to her. She stopped what she was doing to complete my transaction, spoke with him for about 90 seconds, and then asked me for the same information again. Yes, these are difficult times with social distancing, stores being closed, etc. However, that makes these times all the more important to treat customers in a store with respect. It is downright rude to just drop an interaction to exchange chit-chat and to tell someone else the mail hasn't been delivered, and then turn back to the person who is "in line" to have a service performed. Not a "big deal." Its lower-case rude, but rude nonetheless. Some basic customer service skills are: * when someone else comes in, an appropriate response is, "I'll be right with you." Even if they are in there every day, because you'll be doing the same thing to them. * pretend that you care, even if you don't. Simply telling someone there is another option to ship UPS (I didn't know that, but now that I do will take advantage of it) in town is not "customer service." You may have a perceived monopoly, but you stay in business one transaction at a time. * thank the customer for their patronage. That has never happened to me at the McCall UPS Store. If its more important to have a conversation with someone just checking their mail box, tell the person waiting for you to complete a transaction that they have to wait. If you're going to be rude, do it with class. If you really need the job, but don't want to be there, call in sick. If you want to establish a reputation of being more than the least good alternative, you need to earn the customer's patronage. However, you may feel those "rules of customer service" don't apply to you, as many stores in McCall do. If that's the case, you are losing the "marginal" customers that are those who have a choice to go somewhere else. And now that I know about another alternative, you've lost my business. read more

I ordered a print job using the ups store website, selecting this store. The order was confirmed and my money paid up front. I came on date and time specified for pick up, AS CONFIRMED ON MY EMAILED RECEIPT. The order was not done. The employee was SO RUDE. She stated that they do not get the online orders and don't do the print jobs from them. I asked for a refund, which she would not give saying that the UPS gets that payment and to take it up with them. When I asked for a phone number to call to do that she said she didn't have one. She then told me to use 'that nifty smart phone of mine" to look up the website. After finding a phone number myself, I waited on hold with UPS Store 800 number for 2 hrs to try to get a refund. The operator on the phone filed a claim....WITH THE STORE THAT I JUST LEFT!! BUT THEY WERE THE ONES WHO SAID THEY DONT HAVE MY MONEY! Getting a refund looks grim. I've never left a bad review on Yelp, but this is, roughly, what I recently sent to The UPS Store's "headquarters," for want of a better word, about this location: Hello. I've just had an unsavory experience at one of your stores (McCall, ID), and I'm unsure of the avenue to lodge my complaint. Without going into detail, I'll briefly state that I went in to mail an Amazon return package, was brusquely told that nothing could be sent at the moment, replied that it was no problem and that I would return later but had a few questions as to the procedure, which was new to me, had my questions exasperatedly answered, and was told a second time, rudely, that I could not mail my package. I replied that I'd already been told that, and was told in a mocking voice by the woman that she was so sorry, and that next time I came in she'd be sure to not repeat herself. I stated, before leaving, that just because she was having a bad day didn't mean she needed to give me attitude. As I walked out she shouted that I was "banned from her store," that she owned the store, not UPS, that I couldn't return and if I did I'd be trespassing and she'd call the police. LOL. I met my young son outside returning from errands and she weirdly followed us across the parking lot to our vehicle with her phone and began snapping pictures. It was all pretty outrageous and over the top. It's an unpleasant experience to stop at a place simply to drop a box off and end up having an encounter with mental illness. Though it feels somewhat odd to be writing this, I'm really not sure of the proper course to follow. I live in a small town, utilize the store (I've never seen this person before), and wish to know, among other things, if indeed a cranky woman can simply "ban" me. Thank you for your time, and apologies for being a bother. So that's that. Clearly, according to the reviews about the customer service here, this gray-haired woman is rude to other customers as well. It too bad that you can stop at the school, the library, the thrift store, the bank, and the post office, being friendly, getting things done, and your last stop you encounter something like this out of the blue, with a maniacal Karen feverishly trailing you and your son, clicking away with her phone pointed at your license plate like a super-spy. I love our small town UPS and one of the main reasons for its success, is SHAWN! I choose to get my mailbox at the UPS store rather than USPS. And so thankful I did. Whenever I come in to the store, which is a lot, he always greets me with a smile and asks "How may I help you?" SHAWN is so happy to please, accommodate, assist, smile, whatever you need. No tape, no problem! Need a receipt, no problem! He has a no problem, never feel rushed, stress free mentality and is obviously a very dedicated and hard worker. I never see him not doing something. Worst customer service I have ever received in McCall. I went into this store to print, sign, and scan 13 pages of a document. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to do this, and the job wasn't even done correctly. She wouldn't spend the 5 whole minutes it would take to complete the short job. Every time someone came in for any other service, she left what we were doing to help them for 15 minutes at a time and chat about anything and everything. Then, when I got so frustrated by waiting an hour because of her incompetence, she blamed me for not pressing a button that had nothing to do with the job. After another customer noticed my frustration and asked her to help me finish the email with the scans, she sent me the document in a photoshop file... not a PDF. I've never left a review but what a joke this store is!! Two months ago I mailed two packages using scan bar codes from Amazon. There was no one else in the store but somehow the young man switched the labels and two months later I'm still battling to sort out $500 refunds. Now I've just experienced the WORST experience. 10 days till Christmas, on a Monday, and they've got ONE very frazzled woman who is trying her hardest but after 90 minutes and my not completing a transaction (she kept helping everyone else with their packages instead of finishing mine) I had to leave because I had to get to work. The gentlemen working today was phenomenal and very professional and helped me through the whole processing of my service. Extremely polite, fast and very clear on each step. Well done, UPS!! I recently relocated to the area and expect to have dozens of UPS deliveries-- but this business lost me as a customer over $2.50. Let me explain. A week ago I needed them to receive a UPS package for me so I called them up and asked how it worked. I was told it was 5 bucks. Easy. I ordered my stuff and had it delivered to them-- I went in and picked it up and paid 5 bucks. no problem. I needed them to receive another delivery. I ordered the item and went into the store at around 130 PM to see if it was there yet. The man at the counter asked if I had called. I (of course) said no-- "I am just stopping by to see if it might be here," I explained. Nervously, he told me that I was supposed to call first. (As though I failed to read the customer handbook when I walked in the door-- I've been in retail over 30 years). No problem I guess-- I am sure an in person visit can serve the same purpose as a phone call. He then explained that usually they don't come in until between 2 and 3. Excellent! I said and let him know I would be back after 3 PM. When I arrived at about 3:15-- the man (again very apprehensively) began to explain that the owner had put in a new policy and he would have to charge me $2.50 on top of the $5.00 fee because "I didn't call first to let them know to be expecting a package." I laughed to myself thinking this was an awkward attempt at humor. He continued and said it was because "they have to go looking for the package if the don't know ahead of time..." He went on to further explain that the owner wasn't there and that there was nothing he could do about it. What?! Are you kidding me? I would have expected this business to explain the policy change to me, offered to not charge me on this occasion, but made it clear what the policy was going forward. I have NO PROBLEM with a small business charging for services they provide in any fashion they so choose (I owned a small business myself)-- $2.50 is nothing. However, for $2.50 this UPS store lost a potential long term customer and I will copy and paste this review as many places as I can. If a retail business believes this is the correct way to treat customers--- then what should I expect from them when a package doesn't arrive or arrives and is damaged? How will they respond to customer service issues that may be far more important than $2.50? In my experience, if this business can't even get this right--- then I doubt they will come through for a customer when its really needed. read more
