Honestly if there is one company that needs to go out of business it's the dang UPS company I had to packages say delivered at front door I go and check and NOTHING I track the package and I get this gem of a picture and like wtf at least Amazon takes the picture of the deck or door before knocking and even then I got rip off by my neighbor because of that but at least I knew who to go after then I don't know what to do I guess just lose out because they make you jump through hoops even though I am the one with the tracking number what's the point of having that if that number isn't what you have to verify when you get the bloody package oh yeah let's just give a bunch of loops with a pen that totally means that was the one who ordered it yep looks legit to me I would honestly rather deal with the USPS instead of UPS they are a joke but even then at this point I wouldn't be surprised to find out if they were all owned by the same person this is all a joke. I am a disgruntled customer who believes this UPS retail outlet store racially profiles and I can guarantee if I were blue-eyed and blonde haired, I would not be writing this review. I am getting no resolve on an issue that has been ongoing since November 4, 2021. I took a package in good faith on October 30th to the UPS retail store at 417 West 81st Avenue Merrillville, IN to be mailed to Euless Texas to my 12-year-old grandson. To this date the package which contained a pair of Skull Candy Earbuds never made it to the destination. I KNOW someone took this package and now I am having the hardest time being reimbursed for this non-delivered package which was insured up to $100. I refuse to take a loss of my hard-earned money, whether it was 620.05 or the cost at hand of $62.05 which included the $12.05 shipping fee. I have tried to gain a resolution for this never delivered package, starting with two employees in the establishment on 11/26/2021 who stated they would submit a claim. I learned on 12/20/21 by the Assistant Manager Rachel she had never received a request on her desk (Rachel) to process a missing package claim. So, Rachel advised me she would process the lost claim and for me to check back in a week. I went in on 12/27/2021, a week from Rachel telling me to check back and was told Rachel was on vacation and would return in a week. I checked back in the retail store 1/4/2022, talked to Rachel who said she had processed my request, but the investigation was still open and no reply from Corporate Office to date. I then stated I am going to take this further, because obviously they don't give a care about my claim or me. I told her I would be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau; the Attorney General and I am going to contact Consumer Affairs about this matter. Rachel then gave me this number 1-800-742-5877 and she gave me a card with the name of the Store Owner (Joe Polo) but states no way to reach him as he hardly comes in the store. Well then what good is a name on a business card if you can't make contact with the owner who needs to know about his business and its practices? I went to my car after walking out of the retail store letting Rachel know I have no plans to step foot back in this place on 1/4/2022 and called the Customer Escalation number the given by Rachel and talked with Yvette on 1/4/2022, who promises to re-open the claim and again same ole same ole line. I then called to see the results and ended up talking to a Frank 1/14/2022, Jesus 1/14/2022, Joy 1/17/2022, Red 1/17/2022, then a supposedly a supervisor John on 1/17/2022 who was with Lost Packaging. He says he will for the last time reach out to Fort Worth Texas UPS about this package and IF THEY CLOSE THIS claim again as delivered, he promises he will monitor this and will take it upon himself to reach out to the Merrillville Retail Store for a refund and that they would give me a call. Well today 1/24/2019 I checked on the tracking number on the UPS site as John had advised and found claim is closed and marked as delivered. I called for John and was told there is no John. I then asked for a supervisor and the incompetent employee who did not want me to talk to supervisor, told me no- one could come to the phone, but would call me within an hour. I told him NO and I wanted a supervisor now. Catherine comes to the line and identifies as a supervisor and begins to make the same promises to me as the supervisor unknown by the name John did. WHY DID I TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE THIS POST? GLAD YOU ASKED----WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING WRONG SAY SOMETHING OR DO SOMETHING DO NOT UTILIZE ANY BUSINESS THAT RACIAL PROFILES. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE TIME YOU STEP IN THE BUSINESS UNTIL THE TIME YOU LEAVE IS HORRIBLE. The store has no wifi. The staff are unfriendly and not very helpful. I went into the store to return items to Amazon. Next time I will chose another store for returns. I will never use the UPS store in Merrillville again for any reason. read more

I go to the UPS Store quite often. Sometimes the mail the package or sometime to purchase boxes and other supplies. The ladies that work in there are fantastic. Great attitudes, professional and very helpful. I hope they keep up the good work. Good customer service is not always easy to find. read more

First time at this location (Friday, 10/26/18, 5pm). FIVE STARS & kudos go to the ONE employee that was handling (amazingly well) the very long line of customers. ZERO stars go to the MANAGEMENT who is not properly monitoring this location (and its busy times) and staffing the location appropriately. Shame on you. I will return only because of the good-natured employee who was clearly experienced, provided excellent customer service, and had everything under control. She was the perfect example of an "older and better" employee. There is no way a "kid" could've handled, with the same finesse that she did, all of the customers (10 in line). Her good nature and communication to all of us waiting in line was responsible for not one person turning around and walking out, especially on a Friday at 5 PM after a long work week. These people are very confused when it comes to locating packages . My package shows at the store but driver forgot to take it off the truck so now I'm on my 3rd day that it should of been delivered . Gave them my return Monday still there Friday was told on the phone for Amazon returns they put them in a box and wait till the box the fills up then send back the returns,sorry that just sounds dumb you are ups with trips going out two,three times a day read more

I went in on December 29th to buy a box which costed me $33 to begin with. The lady at the front was the only one there and they closed at 2:30 this day so it was crunch time for her. But regardless of the time she told me that if I pay 33 for the box she will give me as much bubble rap as I needed to put my 900 dollar PC in and I was ok with it. Then the line to the place was longer so she told me to wait, and I did patiently. While I was waiting I was calling other places for a better price but I didn't find any boxes in the size I needed. So when the line was over she asked me if I wanted to do the deal and I said yes. She locked the door so no one could come in and I started to rap it. So once I filled one side of the PC half way I needed more bubble rap cause she told me she would give me as much as I needed. So after the first 3 times she tore me some bubble rap she said she couldn't give me any more and I said the computer is very loose in the box and will crack if I leave it like this. And she of course doesn't care and said we are closed now you will have to take it somewhere else. I was really angry but I am also dealing with these kind of situations till I can move away mid next year 2019. So in the process I lost my wallet there and can't get it till Monday morning which was 2 days way. I went in Saturday and it opens Monday. I don't usually leave these reviews but I felt the need to let you all know that if you have Mary as your helper, please be aware she will be careless at some point. that again is Mary at the Merrillville UPS Store by Wendy's, she has glasses, white/black hair and just didn't care. I paid 33 dollars for a damn box and some bubble rap, the least you can do is give me enough bubble rap. Your shift ended at 2:30 for god sake, you worked 5 hours lady.
