used to be a wonderful place to go for business needs, until the new manager decided to use artificial fragrance (glad plug ins?) which reeked to scent the store along with shutting front doors. I mentioned to the staff that this is a health hazard & for people like myself with MCS can set back my health for days. They said they would tell the manager. Came in just now, and was told that the manager said I'm the only one that complained and they will continue to use it. I am blown away at the sheer ignorance in the manager not educating herself the the dangers these toxins cause and disregard for their customers health. btw the staff is subjected to these toxins the entire day. read more

The UPS Store - Shipping Centers Near Me - San Marcos, California

I came into the store about six months ago with a carpet to return, and carried it through a thunderstorm to bring it into the store. They refused to help me because they said the plastic was wet no offer of a towel to dry it off or anything. Just straight up embarrassed me in front of all the other customers and wouldn't take the carpet back, I just came in here again today in the same two girls were there and hassled me over the fact that one of my returns was not taped closed. After I asked if I could use some tape and I would tape it close they wanted to charge me $1.50 to tape the box shut. Every single time you go into the store they give you a hassle they're unappreciative of their customers and rude go somewhere else. read more

DO NOT SHIP FROM THIS STORE - USE ANOTHER OR USE FED EX!! The employees at this store, perhaps even the owners, DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FILE A CLAIM...there is a Pack&Ship Guarantee when you pay for them to pack and ship your items. This store does not inform you of this. The information on the claim in process, that they give you, is always "I don't know". You are left to navigate UPS corporate on your own. They have no direct line to their claims Dept, all reps are offshore, and no one can give you straight answer. I have spent upwards of 11 hours on this as the 'sender'. The receiver also was required to put in time to send in photos. Not photos of the broken item, but very specific, individual emailed photos (6) of the packaging. Luckily, he still had it. This has to be done twice as supposedly they did not receive these photos, even though both times he received messages thanking him for sending the photos. We have been told so many varying facts - most of which have proved to be totally false - they leave you wanting to pull your hair out. I know only one thing. I will never use this UPS store again. I will most likely never ship via UPS AGAIN. read more

I usually use this place for all my packing and shipping needs. It was a convenient location and staff was always helpful. However, recently I packaged and mailed a book to someone from there. After a few days I received it as a return to me from the Post office, saying it required more postage and indicated the amount to add. Took it back to this place and they said they can't just add the amount as indicated, they have to do a whole new transaction, paying the full amount again. I reminded them of the note on the envelope that said to add the missing amount and they said "then take it to the post office. We are not the post office." It didn't seem right to pay full price again since it was UPS' error for not putting the correct postage to begin with, not mine. Will use another UPS store from now on. read more

I dread coming to this place whenever I have to send or return something. All of the employees that have helped me out over the continuous times that I go, are all rude. I guess now there's a new teenage girl who works there and she's the rudest employee there. The customer service keeps depreciating and honestly all the staff members need to be retained or fired. It's so weird to me that a mail carrier like UPS gets upset if I don't tape my shipment box. There's been two instances where I don't have tape or lost the roll and without letting me ask if they can tape it, they condescendingly say that I have to bring it taped for the next time. Like charge me extra if it really matters to you that it's not taped, I don't mind. The fact that UPS doesn't want to waste their tape is a joke. As a shipping company it should be something that you guys wouldn't mind doing or charging for. All I can say is, if you have another UPS that's closer that isn't this one, go to that one because this place is full of whining employees. read more

The folks in this store not only helped me figure out how to pack these odd items, but they made an extra concerted effort to bring down the cost even after I had already agreed to nearly twice the price. The business seems to meet all mailing and parcel needs, but the customer service goes below the standard. The black worker speaks to people of color with major attitude. Prioritizes other things and makes gestures when you interrupt her. This business relies on customer service and quality customer care but this is not what I received. I received condescending and rude responses to all my questions. Person seemed better equipped to work backstage and not with customers. I will never return to this store. Slow, over priced, unfriendly, and just not efficient or helpful. These people need to take a course on customer service. I went I. To make a copy. I was told to send the requested sheet of paper to the email address. Customer representative retrieved it and made the copy and asked for $3.15. I was blown away and asked how it can be that much. Told them I get copies elsewhere for $.15. He said it was because I used the computer, which is a $3 per hour charge. So, because I couldn't send the paper I wanted copy to them any other way, they would charge me for an hours use od. Imputed. I said I would t pay that much and so the representative said ok $.15. But the fact that they wanted to charge $3.15 for one copy was utterly ridiculous. Also there was no smiling, no feeling of being thankful for me using that store. I chose to go where I'm greeted like they are happy I use their store, and want to help me, vs feeling like I'm a general pain in the rear just for existing and needing their service. The lack of customer service and attention to detail I received from the older man working at this location was unacceptable. First and foremost, English is obviously a barrier for the owners here and basic communication was an unnecessary chore. I don't remember his name but the middle aged man was rude and brash and could not put together a cohesive sentence explaining to me why he didn't help me with my shipping request. Terrible service. I had an appointment which was scheduled online with a confirmation number and when we arrived after driving for 1.5 to get there we were told the person who completes the service is not there. "Come back tomorrow"! Despite having an appointment they didn't care, shrugged their shoulders and laughed when I said that I have a confirmation and that we drove for 1.5 hours to get there. We asked to have photos taken but none of their cameras were charged and could not take photos. They just didn't give a damn. Poor service and employees. read more

The very helpful and kind lady behind the counter went out of her way to help me print my labels and even placed them on my items. It was so great to get the help. I can always count on this store for helping me send out packages. I do a lot of shipping and returning of products and Rod and Patricia have always given me excellent customer service. I recently lost a tracking slip and needed it to get a refund on an expensive item I was returning. I called the store and Rod looked up all my information and within a minute I had my tracking#, the arrival time of my package and was so grateful for his relaxed, helpful demeanor. My packing needs took hours and the staff was incredibly helpful through the whole process. After the my initial visit they even followed up with me after hours and made sure that everything was set as needed. Went in today for a live scan service. I presented Raelani with my drivers license and paperwork. She questioned me why my DL address was not where I currently live - it's my parents address. She was so condescending and rude during this questioning - telling me I need to fix my drivers license. I assumed she just wasn't able to do the service if my paperwork/DL info wasn't the same (although another UPS has done this for me, no issue). After I explained the address situation, she asked me how I'd like to pay. I almost started laughing, if it didn't matter then why all the questioning and attitude? I couldn't stand to be in the presence of this horrendous woman any longer and told her I'm going to get this done elsewhere. She slammed my DL and paperwork down, didn't say a word, and walked away. And I walked away grateful I didn't have to spend anymore time with probably the worst customer service person I've ever come in contact with. I took my business to Postal Annex where he was kind and efficient! Also after reading other Yelp reviews, seems that Raelani just shouldn't work with the public as this appears to be her usual disposition. read more

I needed to print a UPS label to send a package. I pulled it up on my screen for them to scan. I was told no, send it via e-mail to them. Which I did. I'm getting ready to leave, then I'm told there are charges for sending the e-mail in addition to printing the label! FedEx has printed their own labels at no charge. Not happy about the after the transaction charges. It would have been easier and cheaper to go to FedEx, print, then just drop off the package. read more

However new employee who l believe is a family member not so much....Ask for two receipts, she looked at me if I was speaking a foreign language. Had to repeat my self more then once. This UPS store not only provided packing supplies I needed to pack up my Uncle's belongings at his Memory Care facility, but one special, caring individual went out of her way to find a friend with a truck to move my Uncle's bed out of his room. She had asked if she could help me with anything else and I jokingly said "not unless you know someone with a truck". She sensed my desperation and took action.
