First and foremost before I begin to describe my experience, I'd like to express how much risk this establishment is taking by their very calculated position on denying/not providing assistance with lost parcels within their own network with regard to the social media using and unfortunately sometimes, erratic public. The risk is to both customers and employees' physical safety. The negative reviews here are supporting evidence that processes at UPS Store # 4317 are not working and there is something more happening behind the scenes. There are too many similar stories to not have substance to that fact. The more complaints that accumulate, the more chances there are of acts of violence or an altercation of some kind onsite by someone emotionally charged by what this business does to customers and/or their shipped items. Shame on UPS corporate,ownership of this franchised location and its managers who apparently are commiserating to enforce their no refunds, denials of responsibility and clear culpability with handling parcels that people pay money for, trust them to deliver and are fully let down when things go awry. People with good sense and patience realize that the world isn't perfect and things happen, but it's up to systems in place and people to admit wrong doing or acknowledging points of failure to make practices and a corporate culture better. Passing the buck for customers who are genuinely affected by their losses is simply not acceptable. Not when there are strong competitors out there who offer similar services. They should strive to be better but they certainly are not. To have a customer not get any email notifications, phone calls or texts (at all) when a parcel has been damaged or lost in their proprietary system is seemingly commonplace. Further unacceptable is for a customer to have to call UPS corporate to be lied to, passed to the franchised location to answer for them, then only to be denied any information about the customer's loss or how, when, or where it was at the time of loss. And yet, still after that, have another third party who they do not name-blamed for said loss without any explanation. For my lost/damaged 9/4/24 parcel shipment, I have had no: 1)Refund for shipping costs for lost/damaged items. 2)Explanation/details of parcel loss/damage (Apparently an investigation was started and ended in less than 24 hours but no paperwork of this investigation was furnished to me or contacts of personnel given to speak to) 3) No initial or reply/follow-up emails, phone calls, or texts from UPS corporate, UPS store #4317, or the unknown "third party shipper"claimed via phone by franchise employee, S. Harrison on 9/9/2024. 4)Reimbursement for loss (I have original purchase receipts for all items shipped and "lost", a UPS receipt for shipping charges which state a claim amount eligibility of up to $100 upon loss due to their negligence. UPS Corporate and its franchised location #4317 in Tampa, FL have commiserated to state verbally that they are not liable for this loss. In my experience as a police officer, I have had people lie and coerce in front of me more times than I care to count. My recent experience at this location, after reading reviews, and information both given and not given to me directly, will now require moving forward with additional action. There are both criminal and civil components very clearly in play here and they must and will be explored. It's my duty to follow through, especially if it helps others. I hope this review is seen by many and offers hope to some who are also clearly affected by the actions of these co-mingled businesses. Please, if you must ship items that you care about to people that you care about even more, or require that your high value packages reach their destinations-DO NOT SHIP it from this location, but also that your packages are insured etc and you can trust your shipper. This franchise (a local logistics company) has multiple locations through-out the region so be very cautious. Carefully consider if it's worth the loss to you if something happens to your items. Google reviews for their locations are skewed as they have marketing tactics to ensure they have higher ratings on there. Don't be fooled. Also, do not be fooled by the replying "Local-Business Customer Service" avatar/individual you may see below. It's purely damage control on their part with no real care or valid solutions for anyone here. read more

I went to this location a few weeks ago to have a notary sign a document. This woman, Shakolla Harrison could not have been any ruder. She told me she can't do anything because I signed the document, and blew me off to help the next customer. I went back today to try again. I walked in at 9:55, and was told that Shakolla is due in at 10:00AM. I waited for twenty five minutes waiting for her. I got into my car at 10:23 not getting anything signed. I've never had a worse experience at a UPS store. When I walked in, I was greeted in silence by Asia, on her phone and picking her fingers with a box cutter. She unwillingly moved to the computer to "help" me. When confirming delivery dates, she scoffed at me like I was asking her to do a mile run on a treadmill. Did not pack my items, moved them to the side. when asked for tracking, she said "they there" and walked to the back to "help" another customer. I'm so clearly off put and will never ever be back to this location. I absolutely do not trust my items will get from this store to the intended location. read more

Be warned they are a franchise, not UPS and won't take any responsibility. Only happy to take your money. I paid $45 to send a letter with a check and they lost it. But worse they refused flat out to help me and do any research to find the letter. They directed me to UPS customer service who directed me back to the store. I came twice to the store. Once to be greeted by a person who claimed right away she was in training but would take my tracking number for her colleague to do research. 48h later I came back. Nothing was done and the person in store visibly annoyed to deal with customers directly me to the website. Shameful. Will never visit this store again. read more

I was juggling with the Amazon app trying to find my QR code and in nasty tone she yelled "move aside so others can be taken care of". I asked her to not yell at me and she continued to be nasty. This UPS Store location is bomb.com. Situated very close to my house this is my "go-to" stop when I need to make a quick shipment or return shipment which thankfully, is not very often. The staff here are really stellar, friendly and above all, helpful. I have received nothing except great customer service here. I am always furnished with a receipt and I like to believe that my shipments go out promptly, as I am under the impression that UPS picks up packages from this location every evening. My visits here are extremely efficient and pleasant. One thing to keep in mind is the UPS store offers a discount for AAA members or at least I know they used to. It's worth it to ask. I highly recommend this store and I will continue to utilize the UPS Store again and again. :) read more

I've used this store multiple times since moving to Tampa 3 years ago, and I've not had any issues...until last week. My sister had a cancelled flight coming here for the holidays and decided just to stay in CA instead of trying to get to FL with all the flight delays. Well, she had some of her meds sent to me thinking she'd be here to get them. I ran to this UPs store to send them overnight last Friday knowing Christmas Day was Sunday. The person working there assured me the package would get there Saturday with the overnight rate, which was not cheap this time of year! I paid it and thought nothing of it. Well, it is now Tuesday after Christmas, and it still hasn't been delivered to her. Because I couldn't get thru to the store on the phone, I dropped in this morning to ask about it. Immediate defensiveness from the manager! I'm told they are a franchise so they can't help me once the package leaves the store. Can't issue a refund for the difference between overnight and several day shipping, can't do anything for me at all. Told me to call UPS directly. Apparently, customer service is not a thing at this store. How about apologizing for the delay, giving me a good number to call, or even helping me contact them? There is definitely a better way to help someone when you may not be able to do much! I should mention that i was not rude or angry to anyone. I simply asked about a refund for the difference in cost. Slightly false advertisement to say you are a UPS store, but you can't do anything other than take a package to ship as well. My recommendation? Find another UPS store or use FedEx. read more

This store has gone downhill. The staff used to be the best- friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. We have a post box there. We signed up again although we could have ended it because the staff was so wonderful. I went in last week and there is a completely different staff. They were on their phones checking their reviews and then bad mouthing customers. The person who helped me had no clue. My daughter has never gotten her package. I have to go back because of the box but I will end it when I can and never mail anything from there. read more

I have gone to this UPS for a very long time and have generally had a fine experience, happy employees and good service. Not today, went to return something in the original box with the label and everything g except the box wasn't sealed and they want to charge $4 for a price of tape to seal the box? That is completely a rip off and unacceptable. The employee responded "... and like usps" we'll guess what? I go to UPS to NOT go to USPS because it is better service. This experience has just downgraded UPS to be very much like USPS bc we all know that a strip of tape is not worth $4 and you'd still be profiting by charging 10-50 cents. read more

Workers are totally overwhelmed. They have you Verify that the information on the form is correct to send the package, when I told her that wasn't my address and she spelled my sons name wrong she said it didn't matter blah blah blah. When I asked you to please make the corrections because I wanted to make sure that it was done correctly she copped an attitude with me.Took my package back And went to another location. They guy at the other location was so jacked up on himself that it was so nice to see normal real people helping out the regular girl. They were very efficient and friendly. This store is always drastically understaffed. At the busiest times there is always one person working. He is tasked with answering the phone and helping people a line of 7+ people deep. It takes 20 minutes to mail something. Why not go to the post office and save time and money. And UPS charges and up charge to mail by USPS. I prefer the UPS on Kennedy. read more

I just left this store for the last time. I attempted to return one cardboard box that went unused. I have a small business and used this location for many mailings and purchases. The employee/mgrs. know me well and knew I paid for the box at that store but refused to give me a refund (of about $5.) because I didn't have a receipt. So much for customer service! read more

Do not use this store to ship anything. While spending more than $1500 to have them package and ship effects from my father's estate, the load arrived on the wrong kind of truck in pieces. Elements which had survived generations in my family were reduced to ruin in one shipment. The store was further unable to facilitate the freight damage claim with UPS, was generally unresponsive and seemingly unconcerned about their "non-local" customer. There are a LOT of better shipping options available for packages, freight or anything. Avoid this store. read more

Had to send huge shipment of my late mother's crystal vases and glassware back home to Los Angeles and they took care of everything with such hospitality and kindness. They addressed all my concerns and reassured me that my shipping would be safe upon arrival. They were extremely knowledgeable on the best way to make sure everything was shatterproof and were so nice throughout the entire process! Shipped a package from here to back home in Wisconsin. Item arrived busted. It was a Christmas gift. Employees were friendly however now that the package is going through the claims process - they have gone off the radar ignoring my emails to this store, to the manager, Ms. Willis. I emailed her on the 8th of Feb and the 16th of Feb. Neither got a response. Clearly it appears to me - they don't want to do any more lifting on dealing with the issue with UPS. Never mind the item broken was $90 from Sarasota Salvage - an architech salvage store that I had to drive to twice with regards to this issue. Add in the cost of shipping of approx $30. Add in my sister's efforts to keep leaving the damaged box outside her house and on top of that my brother in law drove the box to the UPS station in Milwaukee only to be told, they would not accept the damaged box there. I kept getting bounced between corporate and the UPS Store. It didn't seem either knew what the other was doing. The UPS driver in Milwaukee took 2 weeks to pick up the box. I've probably got $300 or more dollars of my time and money into this and still nobody has done anything to resolve the matter. Considering my shipping options are Fedex and the hopeless postal service, I'm pretty much high and dry. Next step will be filing a complaint with BBB. I'm guessing UPS has more damaged boxes during Christmas than any time of year so they try to deny as many claims as possible to keep their costs down. Think about it, you have drivers doing more volume than any time of year, they're out there hustling and probably throwing the boxes around more than usual, hence more broken items. That's just my personal theory. I normally go out of my way to compliment good businesses, this doesn't appear to be one of them worthy of that praise yet. read more

Horrible customer service. Management is in shambles and have poor communication skills. Paid extra for 2-day shipping which they promised would get there in 2 days, one week later the package still hasn't arrived and the manager stated that the employee did not tell me it would arrive in 2 days.
