Looking for reasonably priced 'picture' shipping 18x24 boxes was no easy feat. Staples has boxes alright- but you'd think they'd carry slim ones. No. Checked Office Depot. Negative. But no offense to FedEx's packing system- because as I was told, they'd take extra care in filling the gaps with bubble wrap and foam. Cool! But it cost an arm and leg just to ship 3 framed, acrylic paintings I did for my daughter and ship to Oregon. Next. Located in the Crossroads Shopping Center and off Route 119- this UPS came in handy. They have boxes of ALL sizes...well almost. I forgot the size on the box I really wanted- so I sized up just to be on the safe side. Lovell(?) was the man who stayed on it. He was probably cursing under his breath because I flipped-flopped a couple of times on size but decided the 18x24 would be the best fit. Thank you for not losing your cool man! I am shocked that this store is still in business. The owner of the store is a complete degenerate. Prior to going up to the counter, I witnessed him treating this female client extremely nice and was basically flirting with her. I was sick to my stomach witnessing this type of behavior in a business environment. Looking at his customers like a piece of meat. I went in to send a return and was scolded on the fact that the box that I brought in was damaged (when in fact it was fine just had the old shipping label ripped off). I was forced to purchase a box and also was charged a taping fee since he claimed the cost of the tape costs him an astronomical amount and that's how he makes his money. I had a prepaid label on the box and wasn't sure why the box I brought in wasn't good enough for him. At the end of this, it was a total of $20 to ship the box. I am disgusted by the fact that this guy is a con- the guy has a receding hairline. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!! There are many other UPS stores in the area that you can support and be treated like an actual customer and not some type of barbaric animal. read more

Visited this UPS store to ship 2 suitcases and 3 cartons. We were greeted by Chris by whom we were treated like long-lost relatives. She took our "stuff", put our suitcases in separate boxes, checked the way our three cartons were packed and applied extra sealing tape where needed, filled out shipping labels, and advised us on what to do at the UPS Customer Center in Florida where the 5 packages would be held for us. What was expected to be a harrowing experience turned out to be delightfully easy. Chris was helpful, professional and proficient, and did all she did for us with a smile on her face. read more

Had a great experience at this location with a large and complicated print job. In the end, the print job took less than 1 hour and cost $0.10/page for a 1000+ page Black and White print job, which is comparable to other stores (I believe a nearby Staples location charges $0.09/page). Chris not only provided good support, she went above and beyond by continuing to check on us during a particularly busy Saturday afternoon in the store. Between this print job and shipping (up to now, I have only gone to this location for shipping), Chris has always provided great customer service. Just as many others have posted, the owner is extremely rude. I went there to drop off an Amazon return. I waited patiently in line listening to the man behind the counter complain to his regular customers about how tired he was and how it's been a long day. When I get up to the counter, he examines my box and beings to berate me regarding the type of tape I used to affix the return label. Without even asking me first, he reinforced the label using his own tape. He then told me I need to "invest" in clear packaging tape, and that he would normally charge me for the tape he used to reinforce the label. Next he starts complaining that he "makes next to nothing for returns." I certainly understand he's running a business and that the cost of using his own supplies can add up. However, that doesn't give him an excuse to be rude to his customers. Also, it's not the customer's fault that he doesn't make what he perceives to be an acceptable margin on returns. After my experience, I will definitely not return to this UPS store again. read more

My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to drop off a couple of pre-labelled packages. There were no other customers in the store, but an older male employee talking to another older man. When we walked in, the employee did not address or acknowledge us. He just saw we were dropping off packages, and he started complaining to the other guy that there were just "more drop offs" and it wasn't "worth it to stay open on a Saturday just to get drop offs." The employee put our packages on the scale and continued to ignore us. His attitude was so rude and off putting, I highly recommend everyone visit this location to drop off large packages on a Saturday afternoon out of spite. read more

I can't say enough good things about "my" UPS store since I've had absolutely NO problems sending anything anywhere - no crushed boxes, no damage to the items inside, no lengthy delays, nada. Since I now have 2 homes, one in NY and the other in FL, I've been shipping all kinds of things down to FL rather than packing them in a suitcase and checking luggage when I fly. Most of them have been typical things like summer clothing, liquids bigger than 3 oz., books, extra hangers, you name it. One item wasn't typical. It was my coffee table. The older African American man who is the "packing expert" (sorry, sir, I don't know your name) spent a lot of time testing out the best and safest way of sending this as if it were a vintage Steinway piano. It arrived in FL without a scratch. Honestly, Christian P., I read your entire review from December 2015 and (while I laughed in places) thought that I could not have had more opposite experiences. I've been using this particular UPS store for several years, have always been treated politely and professionally, have had men come out of the store to unload heavy boxes from my car and been taken care of as quickly as possible given that there are often several customers waiting. I did not have to wait long and the woman who helped me greeted me as a I approached the counter. She scanned my item, gave me my printed receipt and some coupons to use at the store and then I was on my way. Parking here is a plus also because the parking lot is huge. read more

I really appreciate that they pack and arrange the contents carefully . I went to ship a pair of sunglasses to Austin Texas. The company had given me a prepackaged label for overnight shipping. I went to the location with the small sunglasses box that weights absolutely nothing, 0.6 lbs actually. Mr Levy, the owner, takes the package, comes back and charges me $8.84. I was in rush and I didn't want to be rude so I take out my credit card thinking that I was subsiding the shipment when he says " oh Im sorry we have $10 minimum and prefer cash." At that moment, it dawned on me that I was being exploited. I was upsold a box for $5 and packaging or bubble wrap for $2.75. Levy takes every opportunity to upsell and overcharge when possible. I asked why I was paying such a high amount for something so small that already had shipping paid for. I asked to confirm that the shipping was paid for and he tells me that he has to be paid for his "time, labor and materials." He spent all of few seconds packaging a tiny box in the empty store. he s a great guy; he 'll use all of his materials without bring charges to one s attention. When I told him that he needed to communicate charges and costs to his clients prior to using his materials; he says that I should have asked. I understand that he is running a business but he takes every opportunity to exploit his customers. If u wanna take every opportunity to be exploited go see Mr Levy. If you wanna drop off a package and unnecessarily pay for his overpriced materials and his "expertise and time" go see Mr levy. He is a dirty salesman that will overcharge you every time you turn around. I love the statement that he doesn't take cards to save every last penny. He is so dirty. I felt so robbed. Far more concerned with extrapolating every dollar from his customers that actually helping them. He went into the wrong business. his only concern is the bottom line, I m sure he regrets his business. To spite him, Better yet go to drop off packages that require nothing from him. read more

The two men who work at this location are constantly berating customers who bring in parcels that have pre-printed labels. Grumbling about how they don't make money from drop offs and how people who have tracking numbers from their pre-printed labels are a nuisance if they want a receipt when dropping off a package. After opening up a mailbox account at a UPS Store in Tarrytown and notifying umpteen companies and the government, etc. I was notified that (after only weeks of opening it up) that the location will be closing. I was told I could be moved to another location in Rye or White Plains. While I have to pay for the rent all over again, the store in White Plains has been very helpful, they have gone out of their way to get me set up with a new address right away and have even offered to add a little free time to help me out of the total loss from the Tarrytown location.
