Wow, words can't explain how happy i am that I came to this urgent care! I've never been in and out of one so quickly. Took my nephew here while I was babysitting him after he developed a fever/flu like symptoms. I was freaking out, I'd never seen him so ill. They worked their magic and we were out within 30 minutes. The facilities were so clean, the staff was knowledgeable and kind. I'm not out here often but if you need these kind of services this part of the woods, definitely go here!! Oh, also definitely call ahead. You'll be in and out much faster that way!! read more

15 min wait only to be told it would be at least another 30 min more... Not anything "Urgent" about that. No urgency or concern except, "insurance card please". I had to leave sick without being seen. child left screaming in the patiant area without any conceren by the staff whatsoever. No reason to try them again. read more

Everything on the internet, including their website, says they open at 8. Their hours of operation on the entrance door also says 8. As it turns out, they open at 8:30. Which was annoying because I wasted time. I then made an appointment online, and still waited 45 minutes to be seen. I've had better experiences elsewhere, from my wait time, to the doctor that has treated me. Will go elsewhere next time. read more

My daughter and i entered the facility this evening at approximately 6 pm, only to be refused of service. I was not greeted upon entry, and before I could finish any statements, the answer was no! We were rejected of service for numerous ludacris reasons, after only 5 minutes. The Caucasian desk clerk was rude and unprofessional. I would never recommend this urgent care even to my worst enemy!!! The employees are discourteous and racist! I will be filing a formal complaint! I am a very intelligent professional and I know when I am being "shooed" away! As a school administrator/educator, I would never treat a client or parent in such a way! read more

Came in at 1040 for a simple non-dot urine drug screen....its 11:15 and I'm still sitting around, waiting to be called back. I don't understand the delay. They also have the names of everyone who has checked in on a big monitor in the lobby for everyone to see; I'm not comfortable with that. The place seems clean and nice but the service is slow. I will certainly choose another urgent care next time. read more

Nice building lovely waiting area take most insurance even Unitedhealth/Medicaid nice front office staff and some of the staff in the back are nice others act rude there is one that interrupted the person that was taking vitals to ask the reason she was taking to long don't introduce her self to patient all I remember she had what look like silver high light s and she was rude all she care was to get to the next person I guess I was not urgent enough Then the physician assistant or nurse practitioner came it look like she did not want to touch me and to tell me that my problem possibly is because I travel to a different area of town that is the reason of my illness wow and she was not able to give me a shot because my insurance doesn't cover and I would need to pay so she sent RX to my pharmacy wow so I still not feeling good and need to get and take oral medication and see wow not such a great place after all urgent care PLEASE lol what a joke read more

Meet the Business Owner: Douglas M.

Dr. Mehaffie is the board-certified Medical Director at The Urgent Care. He earned his doctorate from Louisiana State University Medical Center at Shreveport. He completed his post-graduate training at East Jefferson General Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident from 2000-2001. For more than 15 years, Dr. Mehaffie has worked in a variety of medical settings, providing the most outstanding family medical care available. When he is not in the office, Dr. Mehaffie can be found traveling, attending seminars, reading or, most importantly, spending time with his family.

I'm new to Laplace and still pretty sceptic about going places out here. Long story short this is the best urgent care I've ever been to. There wasn't any wait time, the receptionist was very pleasant. Co-pay was easy. The dr. Ms Kim was super concerned and helpful. Ashley was pleasant and friendly as well. Took her time and very caring. Customer service was better than any other urgent care or hospital in the metairie/New Orleans that I've ever been to. Wonderful job and business ladies.
