I love to come here on rainy weekend. Just brows artistic, historic junk or kitsch things. If you want to find real treasure, I don't recommend here. Admission cost $2.50 I came here one hour before of closing but they didn't discount it even some vendors closed business already. It's unfair.

My first time visit this market, it's really like a treasure hunting trip. There are plenty of pay parking space at front, Market charge 1.5 dollars entrance fee, kids can go for free. Inside is very big, I was surprised by how many different products that they are selling, from China ware to electronics, anything you can think of. To go around, at least will take you one hour. We got a nice vase for our new place at very good price, totally worth the trip.

Do you like watching the TV show Hoarders? Then you're in luck! Because this place is full of them. They hang out together, showing off their over priced hoards. I imagine at the end of the day they go home and tell their family, "I want to get rid of this stuff but nothing sold." Things may seem overpriced, but if you haggle and talk about how the item will go to a good home, you can get a fair price. I enjoyed browsing the people more than the junk being sold. If you want to escape Vancouver's trendy resort town snobbery this is a must see cultural experience.

It's like going to a whole other world when I'm here. For the $1 admission fee, I can say that it's a dollar well spent. Rows and rows of tables of miscellaneous items-old comic books, cameras, toasters, iphone cases, clothes....you name it, it'll most likely be there. I'm the kind of person that when presented with a whole bunch of items, I am first overwhelmed, then I get excited and start picking out each and every single table. And so that's what I did. At some, I spent much more time than others (a vintage jewelry table versus an old cables/ wires table), and some vendors were friendly, some grumpy, and some were simply bored. There are no windows in this large space, so I completely lose sense of time when I'm here. I always end up spending at least an hour or two, mesmerized by all that junk (or treasure!) A good indoor place to kill time when the weather outside isn't so nice. Oh, cash only, so be sure to bring enough!

Awwww, what a place! You seriously feel like you're in another world when you walk around those aisles. This place has NO windows, vendors are either sleeping, gaming or talking to themselves... it is a REAL experience and if you're bored one day in the weekend and have $1.50 to spare, I would "recommend" going there just to see that with your own eyes. Don't worry you're not gonna buy anything since EVERYTHING is so overpriced and crap (when I say crap I mean CRAP! Like 10 years old laptops on sale for $175, how extravagant :). Anyway, great life experience I guess :) Aw, and It says "Antiques" by the entrance but none of that, and no furniture either, only good ol' tiny crap!

I interacted with more than 14 separate vendors and Im rating this flea market based on the awesome diversity and quality of the items for sale as well as by how informed/engaging/passionate the vendors are. We all dislike the feeling when someone is hounding you for a dollar and pushing junk on you when you know it's not worth what the asking price. I'm giving this place five stars because 99% of my experience was extremely positive and I learned a lot from engaging vendors like Lawrence and his sweet wife who have a collection of vintage tins that will blow your mind. Or the man in the back (I didn't catch his name) with the largest booth space by far who has an amazing collection of exotic and very old furnishings from around the globe. Another vendor caught my attention because he appreciated my interest in his reclaimed, upscale nautical creations made from salvaged ship parts.

I noticed it's time to update the flea market review because the previous reviewers clearly haven't visited since the market was renovated (summer 2011) and cleaned up (even the bathrooms!). The west end of the building now has clean, organized, attractive booths with a huge selection of vintage & antique items (furniture, kitchenware, toys, clothing, jewelry, collectables, etc.) at prices way below what you'd pay at any "vintage" store in town. Instead of wasting your money on sweatshop-made faux-crafts at Anthropologie, head for the flea market on Saturday or Sunday. Chatting with the friendly vendors and people-watching are as much fun as the treasure hunt. And yes, the vinyl, electronics, and knock-off clothing vendors are still there - that's all part of the experience.

Ok, some of you may give this place a junk rating while others like me would give it 4 stars. You see, one mans junk is another mans treasure. Here this is exactly what this implies. I'm surprised the Hipsters are not flocking here on the weekends. $25 bucks a day gets you a table to rent. Think you have the goods that'll sell to this unique crowd of treasure finders? If your OCD or an Asian label brand princess, you probably shouldn't come here. You wouldn't like it. For me, it's kind of neat to explore. There's more to this market than what's available for sale or barter. There's this whole community of interesting people. Great to meet people. The cafe that is located next to the flea market is a great little place to hang out and talk about what you've found. I found some neat vintage models. Struck up a deal and got what I didn't think I wanted but always did!!!

    The market in general

This flea market was not what I expected. It only costs $25 per table and I was expecting all sorts of people to sort of have their own indoor flea market but instead, these were business with tables and clearly, they have been there for a while. Now there were some real fun spots like the geeky comic book place. But overall it was more like a marketplace than a flea market to me. The vintage kitchen wares spots were very cool to visit but it was clear, they knew that these were treasures and the prices reflected that reality. Old DVDs, cell phone covers, newish purses... That is the kind of stuff that was everywhere at the Vancouver Flea Market. I found ZERO furniture which was a bummer. There were some bikes and lamps but no furniture. Overall, I was not super impressed with Vancouver Flea Market. Now I know my expectations were high but I love thrifting. This? Was all business.

One of the better flea markets in the Vancouver area. There is a wide selection of items on sale and the sellers are decent and friendly.

Next I found some vintage toys that took me back to my childhood. I restrained myself and only got 6 Mattel toddler Barbie dolls for $10. Same guy was selling some Fisher Price, I was tempted, but the condition was just a bit rough and the price was more than I wanted to pay. Walked around some more and saw everything from fresh produce & flowers to dirty tools, candy, shoes & safety vests a plenty. Lots of booths that had vintage items that could have used some cleaning. I'm sure that sales would have been up if they had just put in that extra bit of effort. Lots of trading cards if you are into that type of thing. More then likely they have been cherry picked for anything valuable already. Plenty of items I have seen online from websites like Allyexpress & Temu. For example the turn your finger green in no time rings! I was actually looking for some sterling silver rings. In one of the indoor locations I found a lady named Julie who had a large lovely booth of high quality jewelry. Beautifully displayed. Tons of selection of sterling silver rings! I was so excited. She was so very nice and went out of her way to help me. She had an excellent selection and the prices were really fair. I ended up buying 4 rings and I will return to buy more. It was the absolute highlight of my visit.

Parking is a bit of a nightmare but I eventually found a spot. Has several food trucks. Outside has plenty of plants for sale for cheap, cheaper than regular nursery & garden stores. I like looking through different vendors and seeing all they offer. Lots of useless things. But also lots of treasures. Fun Sunday afternoon, came home with several plans.

Many of which were selling off their left overs, which I don't blame them, being the last craft fair of 2013. There were many "clearance" deals if you knew where to look. Although most seemed exhausted there was a sense of relief that this was the last fair. I finished my X-mas shopping a long time ago, therefore, this was my chance to get something for myself for all the hard work that I did for me. Surprisingly it wasn't as busy as I expected (last minutes shoppers). Maybe this year people actually got themselves together and actually were smart about shopping this year. On another note, there were a few tables that had commercial goods which defeated the purpose of a craft fair. I was disappointed that one of the vendors advertised (and one of the prime reasons why I wanted to go in the first place) wasn't there at all.

The night before we receive and a mail saying that he wants to open an hour earlier for an early bird special! I showed up on time and literally waltzed in, found my booth in the maze of yellow and blue tacky curtains behind the outskirts of the show and tucked behind a wall so anyone grabbing a beverage wouldn't see and most people didn't know there was a whole row behind the actual set up. I requested a chair and table and paid extra for such, but when it wasn't provided I was left to stand for 12 hours as mark (the lack of organization organizer) never showed up, never said hi or came around and when I requested my items from one girl that worked there was told that they couldn't provide it! I wrote mark an email that night, I explained that I like many others were mad, and wondered if since there was so many empty spots I could move, yet I heard nothing from him. Many others left as the cruise ship was picking people up not dropping off, there was no signage outside and the only people walking around were exhibitors! Most never made back the cost of their table! I had women steal from my table but because there was no security I could report, so those ladies made out with tons of stuff! We were informed that the doors would be moved so that there would be more traffic... But they didn't, day two was worse than day one, and when we threatened to leave we were notified of our $100 fee for leaving! I hope nobody goes with this organizer again, he lied, mislead and stole from us. So many people came from far to showcase their hard work and the vendors were amazing! But the organizer fled the fair like the weasel on titanic! We left our family and friends on Mother's Day weekend, lost money and didn't get a reply! Don't ever work with Mark Brown, he is concerned with his own self! One girl said that she couldn't have a swag bag as mark told her that there was a line up overnite! Really I was there at 8am and not one person including mark! I would love to know if the charity money was actually donated or kept for himself! If you are looking at booking a fair, check out his vendors for this show and just email them... You won't be surprised when we all tell the same story!
