I contracted for September 22. They did not have certification and started me on December 6th. They over changed the VA and after was paid on Feb 1, terminated me through email. Then, said I withdrew from the school. I expressed verbiage mattered and they continued to provide improper paperwork. I am a disabled veteran. They also, we're dishonest about who was their liaison as well as who was the director. However, government website shows exactly who is. They also had charged for a supply kit and a deposit. Being in school till termination was about 68-71 days... never got the supply kits other then one. One of three. Never used the one kit I got other than two shirts. To be very honest, the program also only uses English 10:30/10:45 to 12:30. For theory. This school is not safe and is not honest. If you attended this school and have been in similar situation, I will be reporting and have them under a compliance investigation. As well as a lawyer. Also, it's important to note: I was not once written up or have never had any issue in the school other than confronting them.

The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and approachable, which makes the learning environment very comfortable. Sobia is very knowledgeable and patient, and she takes the time to explain each procedure step-by-step so students can really understand both the theory and hands-on practice. I really appreciate how supportive they are -- they encourage questions and make sure everyone gets individual attention during practice. The school is clean, organized, and professional, and you can tell they genuinely care about their students' success. I feel much more confident in my skills because of the quality training I've received here. I would highly recommend this esthetic school to anyone who is interested in starting a career in skincare or wants strong practical experience with great instructors.

She scheduled me for classes starting Monday. However, on my very first day, I was told I could not attend class and could not take the English exam for the price I paid. She stated the $1,880 was only for the Chinese exam, and the English version would cost $3,500. This was never mentioned during enrollment after | clearly stated my needs. How could I possibly take a Chinese exam when I can't read the language? It's either a severe administrative failure or a deliberate trick to get people in the door. I have never seen a school treat a potential student with such disregard. Fortunately, received a refund, but the entire ordeal was a huge waste of time and energy. Be very careful and get everything in writing.

I had a terrible experience at this school. The first week was great. Then second week was…read morehorrendous. They had us go thru the makeup kits in class. In the kits there was extremely cheap quality makeup. All the students had to sign off that they got all the items. While I was checking I was unaware I was given two of the same foundation makeup shades. After I informed the dean I was told they wouldn't give me the shade I was missing because I signed off that I had everything. This was even after showing her the two foundation makeup in the same shade. During the interview before I attended the school the dean had informed me that with the makeup kit the school had provided with the price of the tuition was a full kit. I would not have to buy anymore makeup for my kit. However the teachers in all the classes had always insisted on upgrading our kit encouraging us to buy more makeup. Because of this I spent hundreds of dollars on extra makeup for the class. I had also expressed that I was not comfortable using the boar brissel brush they provided because I'm anti fur. Eventually I was told instead of being given a cruelty free brush replacement a teacher would give me a list of other brushes I could buy. During this week I've had multiple issues with the staff. They treated my friends who came to model for me very poorly. After having an issue with a fellow student the staff completely took her side. The student had broke several of the school rules. She had tried to get me to break rules too. So I could speed along the makeup application process because we were paired together as models. I had notified the staff. Instead of dealing with the student I was the one who was punished. I tried speaking with the dean about this issue. A few days later she had called me to scold me. She acted like someone from the army. She made me repeat to her that I will not talk to the students or the staff members about me issues. I was very calm while speaking to her. Every time I had asked what to do if a situation happened she yelled to not speak to the students or staff members. After I agreed she said do you understand 3 times. This was because she said students were complaining about me. I found out the "complaints" were concerns of friends from the class. They were concerned because I spoke to them about not getting enough sleep. Due to the fact I was having issues with the hair portion of the class. The president of the school Jenna Fine had also treated me very poorly. She had told me I would not be finishing the class along with my fellow classmates. Instead I'd start individual classes the week after my classmates graduated. Also I wouldn't be learning all the makeup techniques. Instead I had to choose the ones I wanted to learn most. On top of that she only let me have one photoshoot. She also wanted me to bring my friends to model instead of having a model I was promised to have being told when I was interviewed. She told me she wanted me to bring my friends as models because the model they have would be using the photos taken for there professional headshots. The week I attended one of the hair classes the instructor in that class had treated me poorly too. After coming to help me a second time because I had trouble doing his technique he told me he would not help me again. When it was time for my first photoshoot I had requested vegan food since food was provided for the students. I was told to bring my own food. When I had my photoshoot I was completely shocked. When I was interviewed I was told before the photographer took the photos he would inform the students if they had any mistakes to correct with there makeup. He didn't tell me anything but I saw him correcting other students. After the photoshoot I went to speak to Jenna. I explained how I wanted to have more photoshoots. I explained that was the whole reason I attended the school. She declined. During my time at this school I was also completely shocked to see something else this school did. In class they would have the students look at former students work. These were for makeup Dos and Don't. Some students work were in the dos section while others were in the don't. They had the students in the classroom completely pick apart what was bad about the makeup application and what was wrong with it.Furthermore the professional pictures taken were property of the photographer. If any student would decide they want to use one of the pictures for anything such as a magazine they would have to get permission. I would NOT recommend this school to my worst enemy!

I loved my teachers and their assistants, but the way things were done overall was not to my expectations. The makeup kit you received at the beginning of your course is filled with crappy makeup & wind up needing to spend thousands of dollars to build your own kit with all new products because the products you receive are not usable on clients. If you sign up for the NYFW boot camp as a student, you are not getting the same experience as people who are already MUAs, even though you are told you will be. I told the owner my complaints and she tried to make things right but refused to give any refunds even though I believed that was the only right thing to do. I am hoping that in the future, they will take the complaints that myself & my fellow students made into consideration and improve the programs. The management is not that professional. I have a severe stutter and signing up for the courses was extremely hard for me because I cannot talk on the phone and there was no way of signing up unless you made a phone call. It was really hard to get accommodations to speak via email or text message. They eventually did accommodate me, but it took weeks. We were also told that we would be placed into jobs or help to get jobs out of the academy and none of that was done. Once you graduate, they don't help you or contact you. If you contact the teachers, they will help you and talk you through things but it's not because of the academy, it's because they are good people, but not part of their jobs. We were under the impression that when we practiced the make up, we would get models to do make up on but instead we did make up on each other. This cut the time that we each got to practice, and it made some of us break out because our skin is very sensitive and we had to do a lot of crazy make up on each other. As I said before, the makeup school itself is amazing and you learn a lot from your teachers, but the experience was not as amazing as I had hoped considering how much money everything costs.
