    Best margaritas in Texas!
    Beth J.

Elated The Vasquez has reopened! We travel to Uvalde every few months and make sure we eat here. The food is authentic and delicious! Staff is always friendly and efficient. Absolutely the Best margaritas in Texas! Don't miss out on this gem.

Delightful, simple Tex-Mex food. Excellent service and clean establishment. Very nice for lunch.

Margarita platter, cheese enchiladas, crispy tacos, refried beans and Mexican rice. All so delicious. La Chiquita margarita was the best.

Simple and delicious. Soft tacos, crispy tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, and nachos. Guacamole was the best! Ordered the Margarita platter, and I was sure glad I did! Was perfect with cheese enchiladas, crispy tacos, refried beans and Mexican rice. All so delicious. La Chiquita margarita was the best I've had! Highly recommend for all the family!

I can't recommend the Vazquez. It feels like white washed Mexican food, options are limited. I ended up getting a burger which, to be fair, was good but who goes to a Mexican restaurant for a burger. The reason I order it was the rest of the menu was limited. Only beef or chicken tacos. Queso tastes like it comes out of a can. Service was also subpar. I would recommend you go any number of other more authentic places in town.

We just happened here by chance and so glad we did. The food was so good. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Some of the things that stick out to me was that when she brought out tea she also brought us each a cup of ice. This is huge to me because I am an extra ice type of person. The chips were delicious! You could tell they were homemade tortilla chips. The BEST! The food was really good! We will definitely be back!

2 cheese enchiladas, bean and cheese tostada with guacamole, rice, beans, salsa, queso and chips.

The restaurant is very clean and looks good inside and out. The food... well... it was ok. I can definitely say I have had much better. Let me start with what I did like. The tostada was actually quite nice. The beans and guacamole were well salted and tasted good and the shell held up till the last bite, (and that's a plus). The beans were pretty good, the rice was heavy handed in the garlic, but not too bad. I got the plain cheese enchiladas and the sauce was very confusing... it tasted like peppered gravy covered in cheese... definitely not something I would order again. The queso, I was not impressed with... it was an odd cheese with salsa, tomatoes and so many onions stuffed into it... another thing I would definitely not get again. The salsa was ok, but it was mostly tomatoes and not a lot of much else. But, chips and salsa do not come with your meal, (that I found very strange for sure). Overall, the meal was about 2 stars, but I'm rounding up to 3 for cleanliness, atmosphere and the lovely waitress and staff. They were very sweet and attentive and the dining room and bathroom were quite clean.

Service and food were both great. Everything was homemade and delicious. Some of the best enchiladas we've had in restaurant. Five stars!

Portion size of the chips and queso is small for the price. Food was excellent however. Will go back. Restaurant is clean.

We were turned away because the waitress swore they were busy. She thought about serving us but I guess we didn't meet the demographic.

The rice was crunchy, the lettuce was brown, the tomatoes tasted old, and the chicken had this strange mustard flavor that completely ruined the dish. The bread was dry, the tortillas were practically raw, and the "quesadillas" weren't even quesadillas. The only good thing on my plate were the beans, and that's saying a lot. On top of that, there are no vegan options, even though Yelp claimed they did. I asked for vegetable fajitas, and they looked at me like I had two heads, like it was the weirdest request they'd ever heard. They definitely do NOT have vegetarian or vegan options, and they made no effort to accommodate any dietary needs. The asparagus and broccolini came out raw with zero seasoning. Nothing about our meal was enjoyable. If you want actual Mexican food, you're better off going to Taco Bell at this point. The Local Fix definitely did NOT fix us....now I need to go find some real food. Would not recommend this place at all, especially if you have any dietary restrictions.

The outside is deceiving because it looks deceptive but it's a clean beautiful decor inside. Always hopping with great service. Now for the food. I think it has the best variety, value and great tasting food in Uvalde. There is something for everyone. Our favorites are the Monday green chili enchiladas. I've eaten hundreds of green enchiladas over the past 50 years. These are the BEST! Other favorites are stuffed pepper steak which we get the home fries ( delicious) with the small upcharge of queso . This also comes with a side salad to start. Again- one of the best we have ever had. The description of Julio's says barbecue which we only had once and it was great on the tacos. I've never had their breakfast tacos but the drive thru is always busy with the take out tacos. The sandwhiches, chicken fried chicken and big salads are great too because the salad dressings taste home made. The only thing I had that was basic was the cheese enchiladas but everything is usually great. Great service, great food, great variety and great prices.

Confirmed with some dude that works there: their hours are Mon-Sat 6am-3pm. I stayed in Uvalde for business for 2 weeks. We made it a point to stop in for lunch at Los Alamos whenever possible because the food is just hat good. The enchilada plate is prolly the best enchiladas I've had outside of San Antonio. They're legit. I also tried their burger---it's a burger--nothing to write home about but good nevertheless. The waitstaff if mostly friendly but if you come in at like 2:45 when they're about to close, they'll be slightly less accommodating (understandably). For example, our waitress was trying to get us out the other day and didn't serve us our customary chips and salsa. Nothing major...just the little things. Anyway, there's a couple of other TexMex restaurants in the town that are decent, but I'm over the opinion that Los Alamos is the best of the group along the highway 90 corridor that cuts through the city. Oh, and it's cheap--though not cheap tasting--as it should be.
