I was really impressed to find a place like this here. They have an incredible selection of treats, and also meals. You are looking to spend about $5 on any treat, like a brownie, or a chocolate covered cookie dough ball. The employee here was wonderful, and when I explained dietary restrictions she was able to pull out an ingredient list for every single item in the store and let me know what was the next one. The hello dollies were far tastier than I had expected, and the chocolate covered cookie dough balls are now things that I'm going to the consider making at home. This plant-based gluten-free spot has some seriously delicious desserts! They also offer a variety of other things like freezer items, grab and go products, pizza and more but me, their sweets are what really make them stand apart. Some of my family favourites are their "Snickers" and "Butterfinger" bars, cheesecakes and donuts. I've also tried quite a few of their apps, which are tasty, but our experience was that anything breaded does not hold up well through the cooking process (the breading falls off). SERVICE: the sweetest bunch! i placed an order through instagram for pickup. paid through e-transfer, and they brought out the food to the parking lot. my issue.. when i got home, i found out i had a missing item! so sad :( BLONDIES: really good, but really sweet ah! i didn't (still don't) even know what blondies are lol. they look like chocolate chip cookies with a brownie? i think i tasted peanut butter? anyways, they were super good - i topped it with some vanilla nicecream yummm 4/5 BBQ JACKFRUIT BURGER: this was pretty good! i personally wouldn't order again, but it was good. nothing fancy, quite messy (lol grab napkins). & a lot smaller than i was expecting. i would give this burger a 3/5 BIG MAC FRIES: i actually really liked this one! again, nothing fancy, but it was pretty good. i would order this again, and the portion was suffice for the price. 4/5 OVERALL: my only issue was definitely the price & portion. it does fall on the pricier side of things. i can see that it being in a small town, maybe prices are higher with less flow of traffic? idk. but definitely high... especially given the portion size. if i were to compare with Doomie's (BarVegandale), their portions are less than half.. but equal costs, if not more?? read more

The further you travel from Toronto, the less vegan/vegetarian options there are. Searching for a healthy place to eat, I had stumbled upon The Vegan Pantry. This is a cafe that has delicious looking treats, but they also sell food. The food in pre-made and can be picked up. I tried the Classic Cauliflower wings and a pizza (not sure of the type, but it had jalapeños, vegan sausage, and vegan cheese). The owner was very kind. She instructed us on how to warm/ heat the food the best way. Following her instructions the food came out perfectly crispy and delicious. I have eaten at vegan restaurants in the city, however this trumps them all. The flavours were spot on and It tasted like actual chicken wings. The pizza came vacuum sealed, and when cooked was as good as a freshly rolled pie. If you want to eat at the place, there is a small table available and the food is warmed there. There are daily deals at the Vegan Pantry that are posted on FB and IG. I am excited to have found such a wonderful establishment and hope that other visit to discover this gem. read more

Very Disappointing. We were quite excited to try this place. My wife and I both had the chicken buffalo burger with fries. The fries were barely warm and tasted very dry like there were a day old. Update: Tried the cauliflower wings and buffalo crusted brussel sprouts since they had them on special to buy 2, get 1 free. How can you go wrong?! I opted to heat them up in my air fryer which worked out perfectly. They tasted great! Would definitely recommend heating them this way since it'll add a good crisp to the outside. All and all, very impressed! Finally stopped by after itching for a few good gluten free chocolate treats. Was warmly greeted and helped. The customer service was great! I asked about popular items and what to try since it was my first visit. They had donuts made that morning, sooo I was curious what the donut would taste like since I've had other gluten free donuts that weren't really donut worthy in my opinion. It was really tasty. Definitely a cake style donut, smoist even days later. What I really enjoyed about everything was having a quarter or half was sufficient as a treat. The portions for baked items is generous. I ended up going for a classic chocolate chip cookie, peanut butter Nanaimo bar and chocolate chip banana muffin. All were fresh. The cookie was soft and chewy and not too sweet (always nice). The bar was on the sweeter side, so it was cut up into smaller pieces. I found a small square was tasty and more than enough. The muffin was my fav! Flavourful and reminded me a good banana bread with chocolate chips added. I would definitely get one again. All n all, would recommend stopping by. They offer a lot of savoury options too which I'm hoping to try next visit. Worth stopping by whether you're picking up a few items or want to dine in. The food is terrible. The pizza crust was gooey and the toppings weren't fresh and the serving size was was tiny! I wasn't going to say anything and just eat it but it was so dissatisfying and expensive that I took it up to the counter and the lady told me "no refunds". The fries tasted old and dry had a bad texture. Too bad bc I could have easily spent a hundred dollars on desserts in this place over the next month. But now i will not come back and I will not recommend it to anyone else either. It was petty and arrogant not to take my feedback and give me a refund. I've been following them on social media for many years and finally tried it while in was in Barrie. Overall it was a lunchbox let down. But the Jalapeño poppers were excellent - Great crust, unique breading seasoning and super yummy filing. The dill pickle dip was also great and I'd definitely try their other dips. Great consistently and flavour. The buffalos cauli wings were pretty bad but edible - just really salty and dry and way too much franks hot sauce. The poutine was ...horrendous!. The worst vegan poutine I've had in 20'years of making and buying vegan poutine (yes there are good ones out there!) . This one had really Dry over cooked fries and unbearably salty gravy. The ah caramel was well put together but man oh man wayyy too sweet and it was nothing like the childhood ah caramels our grandmas used to have in their pantry. I could only take four bites before my mouth dried up from the sugar overload. I'll go back to stock up in those amazing poppers and try the tofu bites that I hope have the same crust as the poppers. The inside was nice and the food looked appealing. Prices are outrageous, however. A cheesecake and lasagna cost more than $80! They were both...okay. Nothing special. Almost nothing had prices or best before dates, either. With the cost of the food, I wonder if the prices were left off intentionally. I don't imagine I'll be going back. read more

Just went there for lunch. The restaurant/bakery is beautifully decorated. There is a nicely decorated dining area where you can sit and ear your meal. We tried the Jalapeño Pizza and the Big Mac Pizza. The pizza crusts were excellent and the pizza was extremely flavourful and tasty. I tried their golden latte which was also good, I was given a choice of almond milk, coconut milk or soy milk. We will definitely come back here. read more

Every time I come back here, they have something new on the menu...I have never been disappointed! Lots of fresh made and refrigerator options for you to take home, their specials of the day are always posted on their Instagram in the mornings. My family especially loves the vegan mac and cheese sauce...and their Nanaimo bars are the best around- no comparison! read more

The food here is delicious, the desserts are absolutely amazing!! I stopped here on my birthday to have lunch and they offered me a free latte, the caramel latte with coconut milk is so delicious!! I also purchased a mug which is very cute and very good quality. The staff was very friendly, I really recommend this place and will be returning when I'm home for a visit!! read more

Worst place ever! Not only do they not put ingredients listed on products but they are rude and food is horrible! My son was allergic to cashew and almost died from their lasagna and they told me sorry too bad you should of asked! They did not refund me and I will never return to this vegan pantry dump! I was there around 4:30pm with my sister and the sign said only 2 people allowed in the store at a time so we waited outside as there was 1 woman in the store already. We waited for about 7 or 8 minutes and the woman who was inside still hadn't left the store. So I opened the door again to check to see if my sister and I could go in and the woman (customer) who was in there was just standing there talking to the girls who worked there. I again left and waited outside in 30 degree heat with my sister to wait for this woman to leave but she still did not. Both staff members watched me TWICE try to go into the store and did not talk to me or allow me to come in as this other customer was just in there not doing anything but talking.
