He has been in a few rehab facilities in between being at home with full time caregivers. When he has been in other rehabs, the therapists, nurses, and doctors would decide to stop doing therapy, or try and get him out of bed, because they don't think it's worth doing anything with him. Before he came to Palm Garden, developed some really bed pressure sores over the course of the past few months. It's been decided his wounds are too bad to have wound care come to his home, so we had to make the decision to put him in another facility where they are qualified to care for his wounds. We ended up picking Palm Garden of Winter Haven. I thought he would get the same treatment that he had at other facilities, where they don't want to bother trying to get him out of bed, feed him by mouth, since he has a feeding tube. PALM GARDEN OF WINTER HAVEN, has completely taken us all by surprise in the BEST way possible! They get him out of bed everyday, and put him in his wheelchair. They take him to the dining room to eat most of his meals. Even if he is in his trancelike state, they still feed him by mouth as long as he is wanting to eat and swallows without any issues. They also do therapy with him several l times a week. The wound care team is top notch and doing everything they can to heal his wounds. My dad has days when he is alert, and will speak. Other days, he will be in his trance, but he still understands and will usually respond if he is asked a question. Palm Garden is the first place he has been that hasn't treated him like he is too far gone to even try anything with him. I know it takes a lot of patience, time and energy to get him out of bed and into his wheelchair, but they still do it. Their entire staff is so nice, from the office staff, CNA's, nurses, doctors, therapists, etc. They all treat my dad like his life matters. They are great at communicating with us when it comes to his care. We never have any issues trying to get in touch with any of the staff. Palm Garden goes above and beyond what is expected of them. When we come see our dad, it is clear he is being very well taken care of, and that means a lot considering he can't always speak for himself. I highly recommend this place!

I was confused because she said my back muscles were too tense to reach the spots she needed, and felt that she ignored my mentioned target areas to spend a large part of her time on my extremities. Her technique is abnormal, instead of slow deep movements like my last deep massage, she does a lot of shaking and dropping of your limbs. This was to 'loosen' me up. I admit that I'm tense, but that was why I was getting a deep tissue massage. In actuality, I feel like the tissue of my back was hardly touched and I felt guilty for coming in so tense, as she repeatedly told me that I was not relaxing when I was trying my absolute hardest, and said that I was causing her pain by coming so tense. The guilt trip was rough- I've never felt at fault for arriving tense to a deep tissue massage before. If this is her method of deep tissue massage that's her prerogative but I do wish it had been advertised in such a way as I left feeling a bit battered and with none of the knots in my back addressed much at all. I'm a college student so this was a big spend and I wish I had known she had such unusual methods.

When we counted the pills in her bottle and compared it to the records we were presented there were about 60 pills missing. The head nurse took the records upstairs and altered them to match the missing medicine. When we confronted her with the obvious change in records and started snapping pictures of them she said "well you should have taken pictures before I changed them, shouldn't you of?" This nursing home is to be avoided unless your relative is hated.

She is always smiling, pushing her patients to meet the goal and feel better. I was emotional one day and when she realized it she just hugged me and talked to me in middle of physical therapy. If I ever had to come back to physical therapy this is the place I would want to go and Rocky is the therapist I would want. The patients are very nice also, we have struck up many conversations together, made jokes together in the waiting room waiting to be called then got in back and teased each other about what was said in the waiting room. All around a wonderful place to have to go get your body back to what it should be.

I called CORA Physical Therapy and was greeted by an amazing patient service coordinator, Guisella, who was able to assist my mom and get her an appointment within a day. My mom was thrilled! Guisella guided me through what to do to get my mom in for her session and sent us all the necessary information. I have to thank CORA for the progress my mom has made and the confidence that she is building within herself. The PT staff are patient, kind, and thorough. They have guided my mom in how to do the various exercises in between sessions and have worked with her to show her how to use her cane and more. I highly recommend this facility. The staff are caring, considerate, and support the patients they serve.
