Although I feel everyone has the right to their opinion, it saddens me to see the one bad review below about The Village as the comments this individual made are not, and should not be taken as, an accurate reflection of this school or its owners. I urge readers and/or anyone looking into a day care provider to tour this school and see for yourself. My 6 year old has been attending The Village (f/k/a Tutor Time) since he was 3 months old! From the very first day I dropped my baby off until even now when I pick him up from after care, I couldn't imagine sending him anywhere else. The Village is family to me and my son has absolutely loved every one of his caregivers/teachers that he has had the privilege of being with through the years, most of whom have been with the school since inception. Joe and Susan have built their business on the foundation of love and respect. I cannot say enough great things about them and this school. My son is excelling in kindergarten this year and his teacher states that he is very advanced. I feel very strongly that The Village and its #1 VPK rating in the Greater Brandon area had everything to do with that! A great curriculum taught by smart, dedicated, and loving teachers leads to smart children! Again, The Village is and has been like family to me since day one and clearly, looking at the other positive reviews, I'm not the only one who feels this way! I encourage potential parents to pay attention to the long history of positive reviews and comments (located in the "not recommended" reviews) earned by our school from current and previous families, As the owner of The Village Early Learning Center and on behalf of our teaching team, we are frustrated by one review written in 2011 as being the first visible on Yelp and the only one of two categorized as a "recommended review." This clearly distorts our pattern of very positive comments and high scores from families who have partnered with us for years in the care and education of their young children. We have earned the highest accreditation possible in early childhood education (NAEYC) nationally and have the highest cumulative VPK scores in the greater Brandon area since the program's inception. While we are not a "perfect" school, we are always open to suggestions, ideas, and concerns brought to us by parents. We practice an open door policy and work hard at developing strong bonds within our school family. Please tour our school, even for several lengthy visits if you are considering enrolling your child, to see our school and form your own opinion. We are disappointed with the Yelp Corporation who will not redo our ratings if we do not buy an advertisement space from them. read more

I can not say enough good things about the Village! My daughter started when she was 2 years old, and now being in Kindergarten she attends the after school program (Adventure Club). On the day we went for the tour, she felt so secure with the teaching staff, owners and children, that she sat right down with them and joined in their activity, and did not like it when we had to leave. From the Owners (Joe and Susan), to all the Teachers, they go above and beyond to provide the proper nurturing and care that your child may need. If you have any concerns or questions, the doors are always open for you. Everyone there knows you on a first name basis, always saying hello, goodbye, making you always feel welcomed. I have had relatives pick up my daughter from time to time, and they come back and say, "WOW, what an incredible facility, I've never seen a child care facility so clean, organized, and not a child crying, every single one of the children had smiles on their faces and were having a fun time with their activity." And through their unbelievable VPK program, its no wonder they have received the highest VPK ratings for the past 5 years. I have and will continue to recommend anyone who has children to this daycare. read more

It is very disappointing to see the comments from the reviewer comments on 9/14. My first child started when she was 2. The teachers are highly trained and loving. She still attends and she is in the after school program there and I would trust her in the hands of any teacher there. My youngest has been there since she was 3 months old. She is currently in kindergarten and has more knowledge than the majority of the children in her class and I owe it all to the VPK at the Village and the level of discipline and love that she received from the family there. Joe and Susan are very helpful and have always listened to any suggestions I have had for the school. Everyone there knows my name. All the teachers know my children. I even choiced my girls into an elementary school so that they could attend The Village after school, since we do not live in a neighborhood that allows our children to attend a school that they provide transpertation to. They call me if there is a bad storm in the area to let me know that my children are safe and to take my time to get there and be safe. I would truly recommend this family early learning center to anyone. I have been nothing but absolutly PLEASED with this family. read more

We are in LOVE with the Village! Our first son went there, and had such a great experience our other two are now enrolled. The facilities are very well maintained, the teachers were not only kind and supportive, but were focused on teaching the curriculum, which did a great job preparing our son for kindergarten (where he is now). The facility has some cool, state of the art security measures, the meals are very health focused, and if you visit, check out the piazza room... very impressive. And the most impressive thing is the staff.. very well screened, we found them always accessible to us as parents, and the owners (Joe and Susan) were passionate not just about running a business, but creating a nurturing environment. (The first thing I noticed was that Susan seemed to know ALL the children by name, and there are over 100, I think!) Lastly, it doesn't surprise me they have been awarded the highest VPK rating in Brandon, for the 5th straight year. We'd gladly talk to any parent who is considering this school about our experience! We can't say enough about this school. Sending our FIRST child to school was a fairly scary thing.... I wish everyone could have the same wonderful experience we did! read more

I love The Village! I would not send my child anywhere else! The teachers are very professional, and catered to my child's individual needs. Learning is encouraged and made fun. Every week has a different theme. One week, in the 1-yr old classroom, the theme was spiders. The teacher made a "web" on the floor with masking tape and kids crawled around on it. The kids loved it! There is an emphasis on diversity - you'll see dolls of all colors in all the classrooms. It is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and you can tell by the high standard in terms of record keeping, the dynamic curriculum, and the knowledge of the staff. The campus is secure (there's a fingerprint reader door access kiosk) and there are cameras in every classroom. Also, as a parent your opinion is highly valued. There's an active parent association and many ways to plug in and be as involved as your schedule allows. The director is always willing to talk about any concerns and/or questions on your child's development. She knows every child by name. I cannot say enough...Send your kid to The Village! read more

My daughter starting going to The Village (f/k/a Tutor Time) when she infant and continues to go there now that she is in the Third Grade as part of their after school program. During her early years I just didn't realize how much she was learning until I was playing with her one night and out of nowhere she started counting in German. Any time I have had any concerns with a teacher or questions about what her class was doing the owners have been right there for us (being older parents of a single child we had a lot of questions :) ). And that is one of the things I really like about Susan & Joe that they are engaged small business owners like myself so you are talking to people that care about the kids & their business. Without ever asking we noticed our bill was less than we thought because Susan & Joe started a long-term loyalty discount. I can't think of too many places that will give you a discount without asking. I tell my friends that if you are just looking for a glorified babysitter then you won't be happy with The Village but it you are looking for a place where your child will learn then it is the place to go to. read more

Tour The Village ELC! We came here after touring 4 other facilities and had 3 more to see on our list that day. Within 2 minutes on site, it was clear this school was different in the best kind of way, and we called and cancelled our other school appointments before our son had even been accepted! Friendly, kind and comprehensive care has transformed my nervous 3 year old into a vibrant, confident and outgoing 4 year old, eager to learn and interact with staff and students alike. He had been unintentionally sheltered during the pandemic and we are so grateful that there is no discernible residue of that social awkwardness he walked into the facility with in August 2022. I've spoken to many friends who are just OK about their children's preschool experiences at other schools....the parents I've met through this school all know how incredibly lucky we are to have secured this experience for our kids! Seriously, seeing is believing - schedule this school first on your list, and you will have the rest of your day back! read more

I cant say enough good things about The Village. The staff is so nice and helpful with any concerns and will answer any questions you may have. I have had the pleasure and luck to be able to have my two children attend for the VPK program. The VPK program is tough to get into due to the people in this area as well as far as Tampa wanting to get into the VPK program. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my children. My kids both had MRS. Navarro and she is an amazing teacher, she makes an effort to make everyone, children, parents and even the younger siblings feel welcome and the parents have a real part in the education they receive. Tami is great she is the Coordinator and is very helpful. Susan the director goes above and beyond for the children as well as the parents and know all the parents and children's names, which makes you feel like she really cares and not that you are just another child bringing money in. I have had 5 children go through the village learning center only to leave with high self esteems and the love for learning.. The owners Susan and Joe make you and your child feel as though your family. I can't say enough about this place.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I have had friends and family that have gone there as well only to praise it as well. I'm sure there have been teachers come through there that have not belonged but I'm sure they didn't last long either.. Susan's and Joes love for children wouldn't allow it! If you have had one of these teachers and have not been happy I would recommend you talk to the owners. They are very easy to talk to and will help you out to the best of their ability.. They are just like that! If I ever owned a daycare I would have it just like this one.. To top things off the after school program rocks as well! You truly can not go wrong with this school... My children have been going to The Village ELC (AKA- Tutor Time) for five years. I can't say enough about this school. All the teachers are great, caring individuals. Both of my girls are ahead in their grade levels, and I have to attribute that to the great care and education they have received at the Village. I have had great experience with the owners Susan and Joe. Anytime I have had questions or concerns regarding my children, Susan and Joe are always willing to listen and give encouraging advice. Susan and Joe are both very dedicated to this school. I live close by and always see Susan at the school on the weekends, along with maintenance crews to make any necessary improvements to the facility. For anyone looking for a great start to your child's education this is the place for you. We searched long and hard and spoke to many people before making our final decision to put out son at The Village. I could not be happier with our decision. He is currently in the Preschool room and they are fantastic. They keep me informed of what he is doing every day which is great for communicating with our son. We also wanted to check to see how he was transitioning to his new school and they sat down with us and went over their concerns, created an action plan and a follow up meeting. Since joining the school I have seen a huge improvement academically which was the main reason we chose to move from our previous school. I am unsure of the other review regarding trash, etc. My son's room and playground are always kept clean and tidy and I see them being cleaned every day when I pick him up. Both of my children have attending the school. They both love it as do we. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming to both the children and families. I never have worried about my children while they are in attendance at the Village. I know that they are taken care of and loved. My daughter, whom is now a second grader thrived in kindergarten and was more than prepared thanks to her wonderful teachers. My son, attends now and always wants to go to school and I can tell that he is already learning so much. Furthermore, in a pandemic. I was a little hesitant about returning to preschool for my son. However, the Village has taken many measures and precautions to do the very best at keeping the children and staff safe and healthy. I would recommend the village to anyone who has young children. Our experience has been extremely positive. As new parents, we weren't too sure what to look for in a daycare provider, outside of the obvious: clean, secure, within our budget. Now that our one son has been there for over two years and our new son started back in March, we can say that The Village so much more than just clean, secure and within our budget. Our older son has learned an unbelievable amount. He's engaged and excited about going to school every day. Our younger son is extremely well cared for and nearly jumps out of our arms when he sees his teachers in the morning. All of the teachers (even the ones who don't have our kids on a daily basis) are involved, approachable, attentive to our specific needs and know us and our children by name. We have been patrons of The Village (f/k/a Tutor Time) for the past four years. We now have two kids who we take there every day, including one who is about to graduate the VPK program. In that time we have changed residency a few times, and each time we seek a home that is close to The Village as we want to ensure our kids continue to go to this school. Leaving your kids with strangers for hours each day can be nerve wracking. When ours are in the care of the staff at The Village we have complete confidence that they are treated with the same love and affection that we shower them with, all the while being taught a curriculum that is preparing them for the next stages of their lives. read more

I could not be happier to have found The Village ELC. My eldest Son is now a first grader and throughly enjoyed his time there. So much so he goes back for Summer Camps there, rather than his Elementary School! Our youngest is in the Young 3's and is benefiting in so many ways from his time there. All the staff are amazing. Warm and inviting and care for our children as they would their own. We are kept up to speed with the curriculum and of everything that happens within the School and our Son's classroom. My two nephews went to the village "Tutor Time" and now they are ahead of the class based on the teaching foundations they received from the village. Currently my two kids are going to the village and they have lot's of actities. Joel and Susan do a great job along with the staff. In this culture we have people that speak multiple languages and we should be able to tolerate the differences, that's what makes a great melting pot. It's hard to please everyone. The Village ELC is the best preschool in Brandon! The school hosts many incredible events that help promote a true community! One such event is weekend date nights once a month! It's obvious the school cares deeply about the children that are enrolled there but also the entire family including parents!
