My daughter got married in October 2018. This flower shop was recommended by the Lessors group. We spent thousand of dollars and spent a hour to a hour and a half going over what we had hoped for in floral arrangements. We picked out all the flowers we wanted and how we wanted the bouquets. The day of the wedding we walked into the venue and the most hideous bouquets for the girls where sitting there waiting for the brides maid and flower girls. The owner said she decided to change the bouquet for us she thought it looked prettier. You be the judge. I left a bad review on Yelp, the owner called and wanted the bad review removed. We wouldn't remove it. I recently looked on yelp to see their reviews, and my review was take off. Came into the village flower shoppe to get a nice bouquet of flowers. I told the florist that I wanted to buy a $50 bouquet of fresh flowers without a vase. The flowers I was given were nice but I didn't feel like it was worth $50, I mean, I'm not a florist and don't know the value of each flower but I've purchased flowers here before and today's $50 bouquet looks more like a $25 bouquet I bought here a few months back. The shop's refrigerator wasn't stocked with tons of flowers like many other florists I been to in the past. There were carnations to the left of me when I walked in, some lilies on the counter and some hydrangeas on the floor behind the counter but I didn't notice any roses. Would I shop here again? Maybe ... if I'm in a pinch but I don't think I'll be ordering $50 bouquets again from here. I may not shop here anytime soon but I'm wishing the Village Flower Shoppe continued success in 2021! read more

Just stopped by The Village Flower Shoppe to pick up a bouquet of flowers for my mother-in-law's birthday. I gave a price and my color selections and she did all the work for me, arranging each flower perfectly and beautifully. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, asking how long it will be when I see my MIL and adding water to the bouquet to extend its life. I placed a $200+ order 3 days prior to Mother's Day. I received a confirmation email and my card was charged. On Sunday at 11:30am I received a call saying the shop could not fulfill my order but that they could send the flowers on Monday. There was no attempt to make things right and no sincere apology despite the fact it was Mother's Day. It was my goal to order local and support small business in the area rather than a "1800 Flowers", but was sorely disappointed with how my order was handled. I understand that during COVID-19, orders might not be fulfilled or supplies may be low but the way it should've been handled was to notify the customer ahead of time, not wait until 11:30am on the day of Mother's Day. I could have easily selected a different local florist had I known earlier, but that courtesy was not extended. Given the above, I cannot recommend this florist. read more

Someone sent me flowers after I had surgery, and these were the most unique cute flower assortment I have ever seen!! It had a flower puppy!!! There was a slight mixup with the order but it was addressed quickly and professionally, I even got some extra roses! Even though I have not purchased from them, I was a recipient and a happy one at that. I will be using them for any floral needs in the future. read more

What a sham these guys are. Use their web page to order something thinking I was buying local, being delivered local. They charged a $15 delivery fee which I was ok with . I also got an email confirmation from their webpage . 2 hours later I get a call saying I need to spend more money in order for them to deliver. Literal less the 10mins away. Fix your web page if there was a required minimum to be spent . Don't use, and small businesses wonder why they don't survive ! read more

I ordered a $175 flower delivery a day in advance asking that it be delivered first thing the next morning which they agreed to. It was a time-sensitive delivery and it was a gift. At 2:30pm it still had not arrived and I had to call the flower shop to follow up. They had no idea where it was. They tracked down their driver and said that it would be delivered in the next few minutes, at that point meaning mid afternoon. Wayne at the florist was apologetic, but excused it by saying that they had a lot of orders that day. My response was that they should have either delivered mine first given that it was a specific request or let me know when I placed the order that they would not be able to honor the specific time frame. He acknowledged that, but the gift nevertheless had already been ruined. Wayne said he would speak with the owner about it and would come back to me, but never did. Great service and flowers. Opted for delivery for a great surprise. It was right on time. Flowers lasted longer than I thought. Cards at the shop were basic and limited. Shop is right off the train station so super convenient for grab and go. Parking in that area is difficult during peak times and often congested. read more

The workers/owners in this florist are so very nice. They are helpful, artistic and not just trying to 'sell' you something. They were closing tonight at 5 and I went in and started looking around (I didn't know they were closing) .... Maria offered to help me with my purchase and she wasn't pushy or overbearing. I Purchased a $230 bouquet of flowers for my girlfriend. The bouquet itself was very nice but after three days it began to wilt and some of the flowers were coming apart. We thought that was strange but waited another few days. By the fifth day3/4 of the bouquet had died and fallen on the floor. I called the store to complain and was told they will look into it. I received a call today and they said to me they guarantee the bouquet for five days my phone call was on the morning of the sixth day. They then told me that my girlfriend miss handled the bouquet or it was too warm in her house or she didn't change the water enough. These people are clowns the bottom line is there was no customer service they did in fact provide faulty flowers because we have never had any bouquet that died after four days I would never use them again and I would recommend anyone who wants to use them to forget about it. Oops I forgot to mention they offered me 10% off a future order. Who in the world would ever order again from them? I order flowers regularly So they have lost a really good customer. There are plenty other florist who will love my business and do the right thing. As I said run from these guys. I don't think that flowers dehydrate after 3 days when they are in a vase filled with water and the food you provided. You never called me today your assistant did. So I really did give u a chance The silly thing is you should of made it right to begin with. 10% off on a future order is embarrassing to offer. What you should of done was to send to my girlfriend another bouquet. That's what should of been done. In the midst of all the chaos my mother's bouquet and bridesmaids flowers were left at her home in Brooklyn, NY. I use only this shop for flowers, I will not go anywhere else. I remember when Larry and Angela first opened their store, how friendly and wonderful they were. Over ten years later, they still treat all customers with the utmost respect and always remember my name, even when it has been a while since my last visit. And their floral arrangements are simply stunning! Even simple bouquets are just beautiful because their flowers are always fresh. Most recently I used their services for my grandmother's funeral arrangement. I was so emotional, but their staff was patient as I figured out what I wanted for my grandma. Their staff did such an outstanding job, I know Grandma would have loved the arrangement, just as she loved others they made for her in the past. This is a fantastic flower shop! On my most recent visit, I went to order flowers for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner and was surprised to learn the store had new owners. I was a bit concerned but there was no reason to worry. The new owner and her staff were attentive, had great follow up skills and delivered PERFECT flowers at the right time to the right place without a single snag! They called the day before the event to confirm and then again when they were on their way to deliver. The flowers were so beautiful at the dinner we decided to bring take them with us and they adorned the breakfast the day after the wedding. Go here and you will be thrilled! read more

My fiance has ordered flowers here every few weeks for the past year. The way the owner, Larry, treated him today was disgusting and I will NEVER EVER go here again. We are also getting married next year and planned to use them as our florists for the wedding, but now we will find another florist that doesn't treat their loyal customers so horribly. My fiance ordered flowers for me yesterday (this was his second order in a time period of one week) and the gerber daisies in the bouquet wilted within a few hours of getting them. Not a big deal - this happened once before and no problems, spoke with angela and they switched out the flowers - not a big deal. He still ordered from them every few weeks after that. However, apparently, according to Larry, it was MY fault the flowers wilted today. My fiance emailed the photos to Angela yesterday (which showed the wilted flowers within hours of me getting them) and she emailed my fiance back today and was very apologetic. Then, as today went on, more of the gerber daisies began to wilt. Mind you, the tubes that surround the stems on the gerbers were not in this bouquet, which they usually are. *****My fiance called this afternoon and spoke to Larry, who told him that they stand by their flowers and that this has happened several times with us (which it didn't - it happened once) and blamed me - that it must be how I am caring for the flowers. Btw, the flowers were several hours old when they began to wilt so to say that is ridiculous. Flowers shouldn't wilt within hours of getting them. Plus, we are loyal customers and order from there ALL THE TIME. Then told my fiance that they stand behind their work and told him that he should get a new florist!!!! What nerve!!! I was shocked and disgusted. I am so disgusted with how they treated us and for blaming me for flowers wilting within hours of getting them! If you are not going to honor your 4 day guarantee, then don't make a guarantee! We have been customers of this store for over a year, he orders every few weeks, I have ordered flowers for friends and had them delivered -- and we were going to use them for our wedding - but after he was treated today, I will never go back there. I will also be sharing my experience with on LI weddings to prevent other brides from going with a florist that treats their customers so terribly. I can't believe a store would lose good customers over something like this and treat loyal customers so poorly. I'm glad I am not giving them the business for my wedding. I would suggest anyone else to go to a different florist (my friend at work got a beautiful bouquet from Mineola Florist) because the way Larry spoke to my fiance was so rude and awful, I am seriously in shock.
