Having a boss who is from Vermont, she said we had to try a Maple Creemee while we were visiting and I'm glad she did. We didn't get a recommendation of where to go so we found this place by searching google maps. The shop is small but cute. There is very little room inside but lots of seating outside on a nice night. The employees were very busy but still very friendly. This place is what summer ice cream dreams are made of. The portions are LARGE and you can enjoy your sweet treats under some beautiful trees on the benches they have. There is a drive-thru if you are on the go. Inside, they have an adorable little step stool they built so the kiddies can order for themselves and get a look at what's going on in the scoop area. I always am fascinated how local lingo can have a food item that you are familiar with called something different somewhere else. In Philadelphia, I called my beloved sub a hoagie, so it's a creme here and not ice cream) are very good and priced right. Service was also pretty good. Was so disappointed when they didn't have any creemees, however the children we're happy with cotton candy hard ice cream. Please be patient when coming here. I was looking for my first ice cream experience in Burlington. Of course the first name that came to mind was Ben & Jerry's. But something about the small-town culture here persuaded me to try out some local ice cream rather than the big famous brand. Found this little ice cream shop up in Colechester and decided to give it a try. When I got there, this little shop was actually an annex to a huge family home. That's when I knew I hit jackpot, a good ole mom and pop ice cream parlor. They even have a drive-through! In case you're too lazy and show up in pajamas, don't even need to get out of the car . I looked up and down the long list of ice cream flavors and picked one before I lost my mind. "Maple and walnut" I ordered in the "tot size" - the smallest size on the menu. And then the cashier hands me this tiny cone with this ginormous scoop. Im never the one to turn down huge portions so I happily accepted. The ice cream was creamy, rich, flavorful and full of walnuts. It was phenomenal, and on a day where the temperature outside was 94°, this ice cream literally felt like heaven in my mouth. Oh and to top it off, super friendly service and super competitive prices. For the amount of ice cream I got I'd probably have paid double at other places. I'll definitely be coming back here to try all the other flavors! read more

I adore maple nut ice cream. It used to be a common flavor many moon ago, but now seems to be an endangered species except in New England, where it's EVERYWHERE! I swear I died and went to heaven! Since I had gotten a massive dose only a day or two before, I branched out and mixed it up with a scoop of black raspberry in addition to my beloved maple. Both were outstanding. Creamy, delicious, flavorful and a slap in the face to weird-flavored artisan gelato. Hipsters stay home. This is for hard core fatties who know the good stuff when they taste it! Why not 5 stars? Amazing seasonal ice-cream shop! This is one of our favorite places to visit and we usually go the first day of the year that they open (even if its snowing!). They have amazingly delicious ice-cream, very creamy and rich with high quality ingredients. There are many options for kids and adults like creemees, sprinkles, waffle cones, milkshakes, various sundaes and of course many kinds of hard ice-cream. The prices are also very reasonable and portions are huge (a small is anything but!). They seem to hire mostly college kids to work there, who have always been helpful and knowledgeable. Overall its an excellent, family-friendly shop with some nice picnic tables and chairs to sit, enjoy the nice weather and the delicious ice-cream. I love the fact that the ice cream place has a drive-thru it's so cool and easy if the line start getting backed up then you'd have a customer service person come out ask you what you wanted she would go inside bring out your ice cream and you just pay at the front when you roll up they're very efficient with their customer service. The price for the food which is just screaming and also hard ice cream is pretty decent a great variety of different flavors also toppings and their sizes are pretty good size when you ask for a small to me it's considered a medium which is pretty fantastic. The flavor of the creamies and ice cream is very good and fresh you do have the option to go inside if you want to but personally I just like to drive through. There are places to sit outside if you choose to sit outside.
