My friend was in town, so we decided to get ice cream here as it was so highly rated, we decided to head over after dinner. We ordered a small bowl and a small homemade waffle cone. What we got was ginormous desserts! So many amazing flavors to choose from. I tried a scoop of the Avalanche - Mint with white chocolate chips, brownie bites, and dark chocolate mint truffles with a scoop of Blueberrry Cheesecake - Blueberry ice cream with graham cracker and creamy cheesecake swirls. Both were luscious and decadent. My friend got the Cherry Chocolate Chunk - Vanilla with sweet dark cherries and chocolate chips and Kahlua Fudge Brownie - Kahlua mocha ice cream with brownie bits and fudge swirl. They were equally tasty. We didn't want to waste any, so we stuffed ourselves. Had I not been 30 min from home, I'd have refrozen half for breakfast! These ice creams are rich and creamy. It's clear they're homemade and ridiculously affordable. I'll definitely be back to try them all. read more

I ordered a birthday cake from scoop. The person who took my order was very clear in his detail of what I wanted. However, the cake was not what I ordered. Even the name was spelled wrong, though I went over the spelling twice. I asked for a layer of brownie in between ice cream layers, and that did not happen. The cake was mostly one flavor. 3 inches of one flavor and 1/2 inch of the other. I will not order an ice cream cake from Scoop again. Sad, because their ice cream is good. read more

I only recently learned about the maple creemee and it may likely be an objective of mine to try to sample different ones from wherever I can across the state! The Scoop's rendition was good--not overly sweet (which is good), but sometimes couldn't quite make out the maple flavor. Still delicious though, and if I am ever back in the area, I'd maybe try the maple/black raspberry twist which seems to also be recommended. read more

We hit up this place after getting Archies for our date night. I've been here about three times, every time prior to this visit has been stellar. Friendly service, amazing ice cream, cute shop! What more could you ask for? This last visit was not the same as the previous visits. There was a short line but made the place seem packed, there was a older women out to get ice cream with what I assume are her grandchildren, multiple times during her exchanges with the cashier she was treated quite rudely, they seemed short with her, impatient and I was pretty surprised. I had no issues with my service when we got to cashing out but it definitely stuck out. On to the ice cream, I wanted to get the raspberry cheesecake like the previous visits but they were out of it. I asked for the cherry pie ice cream that was on a special list and that was out too. I really wanted something fruity, so I asked for the blueberry cobbler. The ice cream was frosty and was missing the creamy aspects of ice cream, the flavor had strong overtones of cinnamon and over rode most other flavors in the ice cream. This left me disappointed, I had been looking forwards to coming here for a few days. Overall I will return again, hopefully to a more positive experience! read more

Yummy scoop shop if you are in the neighborhood! They have a great selection of ice cream, milkshakes, floats and toppings! The kiddie soft service black raspberry creemee is my favorite! It's the perfect size, as the large is too big! The staff is always friendly. There is very little seating indoors but lots of spots outside on their patio or in the open fields. There is a restaurant located inside as well with traditional American food. The missing star is due to its location. The ice cream shop is a little out of the way from Burlington and is a little pricey compared to other locations in the area. read more

Walked out of the store 10 minutes ago with my ice cream and felt obligated to write this review immediately because of how good it was. I had the pistachio and VT maple heath flavors--absolutely delicious. The base was lush and creamy, not too sweet but delightfully decadent. The mix-ins were large, ample, and abundant. Yum. My wife tried the vegan Chunky Monkey and Chocolate Oreo. As an ice cream connoisseur who recently had to adopt the dairy-free life, she can be hard to please, but the vegan flavors "could have come from a cow" (her words not mine). If you're reading this, this is your sign to treat yourself to the best ice cream Vermont has to offer. read more

I will say they have good ice cream...sadly that's all I can say in a positive manner. When I visited both last summer and yesterday I had the same experience, the staff is made up of teenagers (which is fine) but they all just stood there in an awkward manner and had no clue what to do, how to help etc. There were five people behind the counter and only one was scooping and helping customers. They were out of several flavors and waffle cones which is always frustrating. But I just couldn't get past how dumbfounded the staff were. Wake up, learn to be social and have a sense of customer service. It may be Vermont who's more accepting of a slow pace but I can't stand it. read more

We live in Shelburne and have been here quite a few times. The soft serve are very good. I think tonight when we went about 8:15 p.m. a new person was working??? We ordered large soft serve and for $7.09 they were the size of small. I said to the guy that these certainly were not a large. He said, they have a lot of air as the machine is running out, sorry. Really? Sorry? If you are going to give me a small, at least give me my money back for the large. Stinky visit, perhaps the next will be better. I am changing my review to 5 stars because: The owner immediately got in touch with me to make the situation correct which is amazing customer service and she will also be speaking with staff and giving us coupons to use on our next visit. The scoop is a wonderful asset to Shelburne and it would truly be disappointing to see them leave the area. Thank you to the owner for making it right. Wow, this place is epitome of VT hospitality. We went in and asked to sample some flavors, and they gave us mini cup to sample! In NYC, the amount in those sample cups could be called kiddie size. But then and again, their flavors are amazing, so if you sample, it's likely you'll buy something. Everything is homemade there, and it sure tastes better than most places I have been to. The ice cream was not too sweat and had the right creaminess. Their creamies (soft serve) is also super delicious. If you are into soft serve, definitely try it! read more

This was my first visit, but not my last. I had three different scoops of ice cream and they were all top quality. I could really taste the maple in the VT maple walnut. The Kailua and chocolate were well balanced in the second scoop, and the espresso was smooth. This a definite stop on trips through Shelburne in the future. read more

If you're considering one of their many flavors, they'll let you sample it. The sizes give a lot for their price as well. I am always happy to see a flavor with a chocolate base and chocolate chips inside! There were many different unique flavors with some non-dairy and vegan options as well.
