The owner at first appeared very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the visit shortly became chaotic. The owner became over talkative and extremely rude. One of my friends understandably became upset about the owner's manic behavior and decided not to participate in the tasting. The owner then became belligerent and started talking about my friend in the third person as if she was not even in the room. She said to us her three friends "oh never mind about her being upset, that's just the way some people are", or words to that effect. Then the owner stated "I haven't done anything wrong. " I attempted to diffuse this situation without success. The owner just became more manic and unpleasant. During this whole situation my friend, who was very distressed by the owner's behavior, remained calm and quiet. We ended the tasting as quickly as we could, bought our wine and left. Sharpe Hill Vineyard does have very good wines, l however will never visit their tasting room again for fear another offensive interaction with the owner.

I later discovered that they were sampling all different wines every hour! It's probably for the best that i found out when i did, or this might have turned into a full-on wine review page.. Vino Crudo is a wonderful little shop that I will be directing all of my friends & family to from this day forward. This is not a liquor store, it is a carefully curated specialty wine shoppe, that if you give a chance, will most definately deliver. They have masterfully selected a collection of natural & organic wines from all over. While It is true that the wines sold reflect the owners taste; they are skillfully chosen. I liked to think of the experience as a guided tour through the world organic wines, with an expertised advisor leading the way. I loved all of the samples owner Luigi offered, with not a bad one in the bunch. In fact, i was willing to purchase 2 of the 4 choices on the spot! I even contemplated purchasing a 3rd. See? I told you it was a good thing I didn't know about the revolving taste test or i would have surely bought more than I could carry. His palate; like mine prefers bold & aromatically fruity, but not sweet & ever so slightly dry, but not too dry. This shop is the only natural organic wine shop I am aware of that is not online, & their wine selection is carefully curated. The shop has a hearty online presence through FB, Instagram, Yelp, as well as many other wonderful write-ups & for good reason. I would 100% return and recommend this shop every chance I get. FYI: They offer regular free wine tastings every Friday. BONUS: They are hosting a Wine Class on Sept 6th 2025 (that's in 2 weeks) at Elm Ridge Park in Rocky Hill from 4 to 6. He gave me some suggestions and pairings for wines I could try and wines I could gift. I learned that Vino Crudo has recently opened and they carry specialty wines that are low intervention, natural wines. There is also a wine membership so definitely ask about that! They are located in Old Wethersfield and there's definitely lots of traffic here. I am so happy they opened this area. Can't wait to try what I got today!
