The only vineyard in the area worth visiting! The couple who owns this place are so nice and do a great tasting, explaining the history behind each bottle and their farm. The wines were all good- we bought a couple bottles plus slushees after the tasting and stayed a while. I am not usually a fan of the slushees but theirs are legitimately good! They don't have a big indoor area, plenty of space outside but inside is minimal- would like to see them expand it. Honestly would come back in a heart beat if in the area, it's just very far from us and the other wineries out that was are atrocious so not sure when we would be back. read more

This is a beautiful winery - I went during the peak of leaf season, and it's absolutely out of a story book. The tasting room is pristine with church benches available to sit. There is seating upstairs on the top of a long and winding staircase. I personally enjoyed the Hillyland (the off-dry white) and it's very rare I can actually finish a glass of wine, I able to finish this one. The outdoors has a area of picnic tables and umbrellas - parking is a little small, it must get interesting in the summer. read more

This was a nice, peaceful stop on a day of visiting wineries in Connecticut. The owners were wonderful, very friendly and sharing the winery's history while doing the tasting. The had five different wines for us to try. Our favorites were the Briar Knoll and the Ridgedale. Both of these used grapes we aren't familiar with and we bought a bottle of each. After our tasting we opted to buy wine slushies in insulated tumblers and sat outside in the shade on a hot day, enjoying the cool breeze. It's definitely worth a stop by. read more

Great hidden vineyard in southern CT, I would have never known about this place unless it was for our good friend who set us up with a socially distant and safe tasting. Beautiful drive, and walk around the vines. Lots of history comes with each bottle! Great value for the cost, and we were able to get tumblers for $9 each full of wine slushees too! read more

Heard that Hillyland had just been added to the CT wine passport and we decided to pay them a visit. We had our tasting with Geri (she owns the place with her husband) and she is such a delightful person! She took us through the tasting explaining the wines, the grapes, and the name of each wine (they're named after farms). It was such a nice and relaxed tasting. At the time of our visit, they had 3 whites and 2 reds. ALL the grapes are grown on the farm and the wines were very good. The whites were well balanced with a sweet nose but a drier finish. The reds were light and easy on the tannins. The tasting room is beautiful with seating coming from old church pews. Delightful owners, charming place, well worth a visit. read more

A lovely hidden winery.. My husband stumbled on this place through an internet search and I'm glad he did. What a wonderful, quiet setting for a vineyard. There were diverse taste palettes in the wines which is a nice change from some CT vineyards. Also wine slushies! Really sweet, frosty and delicious! We got a bottle of wine and wandered over to the vineyards where there was a pond filled with wildlife. We spent a good while sipping and enjoying the ambiance. We wished we had brought a picnic! What a lovely place to visit. We were on the Connecticut Wine Rrail on Memorial Day weekend visiting several wineries and I found this one to be delightful. The setting was stunning with the beautiful hillsides and farms and the lovely stone ender house on the property. Unfortunately having lost their barn to a fire it affected in a very small way the ambience of the farm because we felt for their loss but the one stone wall that was left of their milk house looks like a piece of art. I am sorry for their loss and I hope that they can rebuild their barn soon. The wine that we tried was very good but I have to say that, because I am not a wine connoisseur, I was more fascinated with the labels on the bottles which were stunning and the stories behind the winery and the wines. They also had a wine slush which was amazing. This was the 1st winery that we visited that day and after having gone to 3 others we returned to get the wine slush for the ride back to our camp ground. Of course my friend was the designated driver so it made it easier for my other friend and myself to enjoy the wines and the slush. Very nice place with very nice people and I look forward to going back again. read more

Quaint winery recently opened in March in the rural Scotland, CT area. They unfortunately experienced a bad fire in the wine producing barn but owner Geri had such a positive attitude as she explained the vineyard and the wines. The tasting was $6 for 5 wines - 3 whites and 2 reds. Each wine was named and labeled after a family Farm. Hillyland, Briar Knoll and Ridgedale were my favorites. And all very reasonably priced so we bought one of each! Definitely want to spread the word and encourage folks to come on by! read more

Came to this vineyard on a whim one weekend! ABSOLUTELY loved it here. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the sommelier was incredibly nice and informational! We did a tasting and then got slushees afterwards and were able to do half red wine slushie and half white wine slushie! Must have when you visit here. Will definitely be back! read more
