I went with my sister and cousins, I don't remember if I was greeted when I went in. There were only 2 people working at the time. I have never been to the vitamin shoppe before, I was unclear where everything was and I had a coupon. After 3 mins, I was able to find what I was looking for. Going to check out, I could see that the girl was probably training, no problem with that, I was in no rush and I could understand that. The one thing that I appreciated was before telling me the total, the manager told me that I would have to pay a small amount since the coupon only took off a certain amount to make sure that was okay with me before we go ahead. So went to the vitamin shoppe to by my omega 3 vitamins by carlson, when i approched the door there was a sign which read:WE ARE CLOSED FOR LUNCH AND STORE BUSINESS. No indication of when they went to lunch or when they would be back. so I called the store the women who answered said this is Stephanie how can i help you. I asked what time the store would be open,her responce was when an employee shows up they are under staffed by 100 hrs. wouldnt you think the sign should have read closed due to a shortage of employees HELP WANTED call if interested. Called to see if they had a vitamin I was put on hold forever. Hung up and called back and it just rang. Still went, walked in and no one was in there but the employee. They didn't have what I was looking for so I left and called the store again to see if she would pick up since I knew she WASN'T busy and was just sitting there. NOPE, no answer it rang and rang and rang. I called three more times and still she just never picked up again. Not an employee I would want working for me. Won't be back. read more

I have been in this store before and noticed the customer service people don't answer the phone. I am at home and wanted to ask a question about a product I know Vitamin Cottage carries. I tried calling the store three times in the past 10 minutes. No answer. I'm tempted to go there, stand inside the store and watch to see if anyone answers the phone while I call. I also agree with other reviewers - the people who work there seem to dislike being there. (Haven't been in the store this past season; so maybe things have changed. Hopefully! I have been here multiple times, it's located right next to Starbucks. Great location! However there are few knowledgeable employee, most of them seem to hate the job and doesn't know the product one of which is KELLY. I asked her about yohimbe and Casine protein products. She was not helpful. A blonde woman (don't recall her name) helped me out. Unfortunately Kelly was the one to ring me up, she ringed up the products without saying one word until "swipe". I was really friendly trying to kill her with kindness. This is the 3rd time i conversed with her over the course of 4 months. She reminds me of the GRUDGE, she must be on Pms year round. One should be knowledgable and try to provide great service regardless of he/she is going through in their personal life. It is your job, if you hate the job quit instead of wasting clients time while giving off negative vibes. I came in looking for Oil of Oregano and the employee was very nice. She took me right to what I needed and then walked me to the check out. I was very impressed with how nice and helpful she was...I wish I asked her name! The shoppe is very clean and organized. There were plenty of employees, but no one was idling standing by. I've been going to this store for the last six years and went last Saturday 9/16 around 10 in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see the store was renovated. It looks amazing. I didn't see the usual staff that have worked there for a while and the usual staff are always so helpful and wonderful. I hate to leave a bad review and rarely ever do but I am writing a review on the terrible attitude I received from one of the three girls that was working that day. It wasn't only her attitude towards me, I witnessed her attitude towards another customer as well. When we spoke up about it to another girl, her excuse was "I think it's just because it's really hot in here and we don't have any electricity" . mind you, we ALL just went through a hurricane so I understand not having AC and electric for a week can be taxing on everyone BUT it doesn't give anyone a right to speak to customers that way. I work in a hospital in a dealing with critical situations and had to be stuck all weekend due to the hurricane. I would NEVER talk to my patients like that just because I was miserable to be at work UNACCEPTABLE! read more

Let's keep calling these racist out. On numerous occasions I've visited this store and the treatment they have shown to African-Americans and other minorities it's totally different than that of white patrons. It's amazing to believe their behavior considering the demographics of the people in the neighborhood where the store resides are predominately African-Americans and minorities. Once again today I witnessed the horrible treatment of a black male who had a language barrier and was trying to purchase vitamins for his small child. They seem annoyed and disgusted when African-Americans and minorities are in the store. Also if an African-American or minority is in line or next in line they will ignore that person until a white person comes to the counter and nine times out of 10 they will take the white guest over the African-American or minority already standing in line. This is a pattern and disgusting display of racial profiling and prejudice. It's been ongoing and needs to stop. read more
