Of course I flew into Tallahassee and forgot to bring my vitamins. A bit of an annoyance, but it is what it is. Given that I have no idea where people buy vitamins other than Amazon and I needed them then and there, I Googled and found The Vitamin Shoppe. I had heard of this chain and never gone in. Turns out I finally did. I bit the bullet and spent more than I normally would for my vitamins, but that's what I get for convenience. Ordered the vitamins, set it up to go and pick-up in person, and not even an hour later I get the e-mail to come on down. Cue Price is Right music. Anyway, went in and there's an area specifically for online pick-up. There was one person in front of me. Not even a minute later I got attended and received my vitamins. Yay. Now I don't have to worry about packing these whenever I go to Tallahassee (which believe me is becoming quite often) as I left them with my host. Hours of operation are 9:30 to 8. It is now 10:23 A.M. and I just drove across town to stock up and nobody inside to help. Maybe time to pick somewhere a little more dependable. Ok, follow up from earlier. 2 hours after the store is supposed to open and I said stuff happens so I'll reserve judgement. I wait and tell everyone else to wait because someone is supposed to be here at 11:30. A few minutes after 11:30 a girl walks up to the store and opens the door and I get out of the car and i'm first in the store. I make a joke that it looks like you got thrown under the bus this morning and she looks at me and says " that I need to talk to management with any complaint and that it isn't her fault". WOW! OK. This is me telling management, and I am out of everything, but I will get it somewhere else that values their customers dropping $500.00 for their health needs. Update: 3 hours and 47 minutes later, I have called 3 times to the corporate phone number to speak with someone because they requested a way to reach me, (Didn't want to put my details on yelp). If your one of those people that understand the false sense of security that you think masks provide. When there is science out there that no one wants to look at because they only believe in what the mainstream science says and don't any research for themselves. Here is what you will have to put up with. I've been shopping at this store for close to 10 years now and haven't had any problems until today concerning the mask requirement (not a law). I was basically denied service and discriminated against for not complying with the store policy concerning the mask. I showed the employees that were working there at that time that I was exempt per Leon county ordinance 20-15: Section 3 Mandatory Requirements (ii) The requirements in this section does not apply to: Notably Letter B. Persons who have trouble breathing due to a chronic pre-existing condition or individuals with a documented or demonstrable medical problem. It is the intent of this provision that those individuals who cannot tolerate a facial covering for a medical sensory or ANY OTHER CONDITION which makes it difficult for them to utilize a face covering and function in public ARE NOT REQUIRED to wear one. I am one of these people who need air and have rough time breathing wearing face coverings. The employees that were on duty at the time made it sound like I had to show proof of a medical condition and by HIPA law employees of a business cannot ask me to show proof nor name the medical condition. These employees did exactly that. I feel like I've been grossly discriminated against in violation of Florida State code 760.08 Discrimination in places of public accommodation and federal code 42 U.S Code 2000. Prohibition against discrimination of segregation in places of public accommodation. They didn't even try to accommodate me at all and I feel even during this so called covid scare that I have a case here. read more
