I love the Voom Room! Growing up My sister in law always did my hair, but moving 200+ miles from my family in the last 5 years made it hard to keep up with my hair. I finally decided to try the Voom Room- but I was so nervous! I've been twice and had Mary both times (so sad she's leaving!). She took her time with me looking at Pinterest/Instagram inspiration and was honest with me what would be realistic and what wouldn't be. She did a wonderful job and I love my hair! How exciting is this new, larger location just a few blocks from the old location. The Voom Room is located on Main Street in the corner space between Charlie Brown's and the City Dogs with the patio out front. Parking can be found on Main Street or any of the side streets. The Voom Room has so much space and an atmosphere you'll love. The Shampoo Station is worth the move alone. Seriously! Love the calm, quite, separate room with perfect, relaxing music. DJ is my stylist and I love his new station. Everything is laid out well, hand sanitizer is required as you enter, spacing is 6 foot plus apart and masks are required for stylist and clients. I am immuno compromised so this makes me feel safer even though it's not a popular decision for the shop to make. I always leave loving my cut and color. DJ is terrific about listening to his clients and works with his clients until he understands what they want. Many other services are available and listed, with prices, on their website. I would give 10 stars if I could!! I had gone to another salon and had a HORROBLE experience. So after that, and meeting them at the dental office I work at for an open house in the fall, I decided to try out Voom Room. I am so glad I did! Crystal did my hair and she did a fantastic job!! She was so nice and friendly. I was not really sure what I wanted with my hair (which I'm sure is difficult in itself) but she did great. A job well done! I scheduled an appointment awhile back to get a balayage after doing a ton of research on salons around Indy. I decided to settle with The Voom Room after stopping in to get an estimate. They ladies were very friendly, welcoming, and informative when I stopped in. I arrived yesterday about a half hour before my appointment. Rebecca took me right away and asked me what I was looking for and wanting. This was the first time I was dying my hair let alone letting a new stylist dye it. I was very nervous but Rebecca was confident and professional which made me feel comfortable. High praise for this amazing salon!! I love going here and always feel welcome. I had some major surgery last year and they let me come get my hair washed since I couldn't fully shower. Then I have had dermaplaning (probably spelled wrong) upon a recommendation after my wedding makeup and hair trial. It made my makeup look amazing for my wedding! I've tried a lot of salons around the city and have had a hard time finding my "home" salon. After checking out the Voom Room at a recent Yelp event I started following them on social media and loved all of the continuing education they do. After following them for a few weeks I decided to give them a shot. All of Speedway reminds me of my hometown and the Voom Room is no different. Very down to earth and very friendly. Upon entering I was greeted by all of the stylists. Lauren came up, offered me a drink and chatted with me until her next client came in. Kori was my stylist that day and I had come in with a video from Instagram. I was nervous because it was going to be quite a bit shorter but Kori did a great job calming my nerves and helping me to understand how it would look best for my face shape. The haircut I have on my head looks very much like the video but is tailored to my face. I have never received more compliments for another haircut. The whole experience was fantastic. I have run into Lauren 2 times (both at Costco) since I have gotten my haircut and she has stopped to chat with me both times. There is something special about their customer service and friendliness going beyond the walls of their salon. I look forward to my next cut at the Voom Room. I had an amazing experience with Lauren at Voom Room. I met her at the Yelp Vineyard Vinyasa event where they were handing out coupons for a deluxe shampooing treatment with a scalp and arm massage. At the time I was in need of a haircut and when she said they only charge $31, I figured "why not" especially if I get a 30ish minute scalp and arm massage included! My expectations were exceeded immediately when I walked in and Lauren was sitting at the front waiting for me, and immediately provided me a glass of wine and I didn't have to wait at all. Lauren was super friendly and definitely took her time, which I really thought was nice. She style my hair so nicely and even took time to educate me on products, and taught me some tips on curling my hair. Also, if you check in with Yelp when you get there you get a free brow shaping! After looking at the reviews and seeing mulitple pics of blonde highlights/coloring on social media, I thought I would give the Voom Room a go after moving to Indy! I loved their ability to connect and the stylist I had was so personable. However, the quality of service I received didn't match the customer service, ie I will not be going back. Although my hair seemed to look great the day of, the hair days to follow were anything but brilliant. I came in for a cut and color, blonde highlights to be specific. It took 4 hours...typically my head can handle hair treatments, cuts, heck my head is NOT sensitive, but by the end of this salon appointment, my head was so sore I had to take ibuprofen after. The color itself wasnt what I asked for, and my roots were already showing which she had colored with a warm tone to prevent the appearance of growth later- great idea, but my natural hair is cool toned...so now I have multiple different colors in my hair that doesn't look natural and at all what I pictured. After a few washes, I also noticed there was a rectangular shaped part of my hair that is straight blonde. Ive had my hair colored multiple times over the years and I have never experienced this. On top of that, the cut was horrible. Symmetry is not a thing with my hair at this point. Steer clear my blonde friends! I wouldnt risk it. read more

At first I chose a light in a dark or highlight to be conservative the next time he suggested a lighter highlights that would better cover the gray. I went to a hairdresser here twice for hair color and was greatly disappointed each time. The first time I showed a reference picture. I came in with grown out roots and wanted a blended root. The hair stylist said she'd do highlights and a root smudge. $217 and 3 or more hours later I was left with hair that looked basically the same. I texted the hair stylist and she said she could for me in for another appointment to fix my hair. The second time I decided to go fully blonde to avoid any more mistakes. This time I was left with orange roots that didn't match my grayish platinum hair. Again, I texted the stylist she offered to use a dark toner as a temporary fix but unfortunately I couldn't trust her judgment at this point and did not want darker hair. All I wanted was to have my roots touched up and now I'm left with the worst color job of my life. She backtracked because she messed up my hair, she said she wanted to take the more gentle route. When I said I wanted my roots touched up I was never told it wouldn't match my ends. I just wish the stylist did not make excuses (my hair was too thick to take the color, or she wanted to keep the integrity of my hair). I usually do my own hair and I'm always able to achieve a seamless blend, as do many hairdressers do with even worse roots. The salon initially offered me only a $90 refund vs the $217 total, they also wanted to charge $70 the second time. I posted about my experience on Instagram and only then I was offered a full refund and told they would not work with me any further since I received a full refund. So I basically spent a lot of time and money (that I got back) to get my hair ruined. read more

I learned about the Voom Room through a yelp event. My friend ended up scheduling an appointment at the event and she loved it so I decided to give it a shot. I don't venture to speedway much so I liked it gave me a chance to check out some other local businesses in the area. They seem to always have an offer on Yelp when you check in which is awesome. I opted for a special wash experience which included an arm and shoulder massage (I was sold). I just got a trim and the stylist I worked with was super nice. Saturday I had a event I was attending. I saw Lauren first and she did a brow tint and shaping. Then DJ updated my highlights. I had asked DJ if he could do an updo because I thought it would be fun. I was not disappointed. DJ curled my hair and then proceeded to put my hair up in a beautiful flattering style. I left the shop feeling gorgeous.
