I can't speak to their actual water, but their Shaved Ice is something out of this world! I brought my wife and son here after his t-ball game in 90+ degree heat, and needless to say, this hit the spot. I was amazed by how many flavors of Shaved Ice they offer - my guess is just shy of 100. You can mix any kind of flavors and also add on their sour spray (max 7 sprays). I got a green apple with 4 sour sprays, and it was legitimately perfect. My wife got cherry and blue raspberry, and my son got rainbow, which they both proceeded to annihilate. It's a pretty small, local and family owned shop, so we chatted with the owner for a bit. She was very friendly, and very accommodating with her recommendations on flavors to try, and how to mix and match the flavor combos. Overall, a fantastic experience. My son went to The Water Connection with his friend Hudson for his first Hawaiian Shaved Ice and became hooked... I went back with him recently and while getting him a shaved ice (with many sour sprays), I purchased my own BPA water jug with TWC's famous water... I have to admit, it's pretty great water! (It was voted "best of Phoenix" in 1998) and the owner told me that people come from all over the Valley for this water! Once I brought my purple jug home, everyone in my family became jealous, so now I have purple, my daughter has blue, my son has pink, and my husband has black. We all love them! The staff has been super kind every visit and is very knowledgeable on the water and products in this locally owned store. I have a feeling, I'll be back soon for refills at 50 cents each and for more shaved ice too! read more

If I hadn't seen the sign outside for shaved ice, I may have completely passed by without any thought. But I'm a true sucker for shaved ice and all the nostalgia that comes with it. But it's just shaved ice, right? Wrong. Well, right and wrong. I can't say that the shaved ice itself was any better than other enjoyable shaved ice experiences. The ice was finely shaved and fluffy, and the syrup to ice ratio was perfect. It was the service and enthusiasm of the woman that helped me that really made these an even more enjoyable experience. She was so thorough in explaining my options, extra fees for certain add-ons and was so communicative and happy to help. I know it was just shaved ice, but she made me feel taken care of. Also, I kind of love that this is actually just a store that sells water and this just happens to be something they offer as a treat. What an added bonus! I went to the water connection with the intent to fill up some water. I was parked in the spot that said for water customers only but was on a call with a client so i was taking care of that before I proceeded with anything else. The owner comes out and stands by the sign telling me to move. I signal to her that I'm on the phone and I'm coming in to her store. I've been going to this store for well over a year, but unfortunately I will not be returning due to the blatant disregard for safety in the middle of a global pandemic. The employees do no (and will not) wear any protective gear, not even gloves when making shaved ice. They've now put a sign on the door stating that they won't ask you about not wearing a mask because it's personal and they assume you have a "reasonable excuse." The sign literally says, "No mask, we won't ask." How in the world can any decent business owner have zero respect for the health of their employees and their customers? In the past I've bought RO water at other stores for the sake of convenience and the desire to have clean RO filtered water on hand. I stopped in to The Water Connection a couple of months ago while in the neighborhood, because I wanted to pick up a glass bottle to have at home. Being my first time, I was not only graciously greeted with a big smile from the owner, but helped tremendously by her assistant Sam. Having a medical condition that prevents me from wearing anything over my mouth, I was welcome to a small business place in town where I was not discriminated against nor harassed by anyone due to medical ignorance. In chatting with the owner, I immediately felt "at home" and with the down to earth people that Phoenix was once upon a time known for. I only saw a few customers, some with fear in their eyes behind their masks, look horrified at the sight of two people (at a distance apart no less) chatting away as two old friends would. To each their own, the owner has a large flag that she likes to point out, "Land of the Free." You are welcome to wear a mask, or not. She casts no aspersions on anyone, only smiles that you found her humble little store worthy to come into. I filled my water bottle, as the owner (seeing that I was pretty thirsty when I came in), gave me a cup of ice water. WOW! What's in this water? It's so crisp and pure! She showed me her equipment that not only filters the water, but oxygenizes it so that your body absorbs it more than conventional RO. Being a healthcare provider for 32 years, I understood this perfectly, and then I realized why even during the short time I was there, why her 27 year loyal customer base continued to come in steadily during that time. I noticed the pictures behind the register, of her parents, her beloved doggie, as well as customers who come from all over Maricopa county. This is a business that was built not only to provide much-needed clean water to the local neighborhood (and beyond) residents, but a business built out of love. In these trying times, the only ones who will care are our small businesses. The Water Connection has a proven track record for 27+ years for a reason. It's not about the water or the money. It's about loving thy neighbor. And most importantly....THE SNOW CONES ARE TO DIE FOR!! Don't miss this! Clean purified water, here in the desert is absolutely essential. As is oxygen, whether it's added to the water or while breathing it freely without being obstructed by artificial means (or "intelligence."). This store has a great location right next to Orangetheory. Of course I had to check it out after my workout on a hot day! I just moved to the area and have been noticing that the tap water in the Phoenix area tastes strange compared to tap water in other areas of the country. It almost tastes a little saltier, like seawater. I mentioned this to the staff at this store and they agreed that water in other areas of the country is better. They explained to me that this is likely associated with the amount of chlorine in the water here. They let me sample some of the water they sell, which is purified using ozone and a couple other methods, and this water tasted more like what I am used to (they even gave me a free gallon to take home!). The people who work here are super nice and welcoming and happy to explain (in detail) the ins and outs of how their water is filtered. I also bought a glass gallon jar to store in my fridge, which can be refilled for $0.75 per gallon. They even have a way to fill up your water jugs after hours outside the store (which accepts quarters only)! I also picked up a shaved ice. They make their own syrups using their filtered water. What a cool place! I've never been to a water store before! read more

People here were very nice. First time in the store I sampled the water and it was exactly as desired. I bought 2 three gallon water jugs for my fridge, and they were a bit pricey. Being new to the area I didn't realize what other water stores charged for their water dispenser. This store charges $.75 a gallon which is triple what I pay elsewhere. I guess since it is near camelback that it commands a higher price? Water was good, but I have found the same quality elsewhere for much cheaper. read more

They have the most rude staff I've ever dealt with in my life. I literally was parking my truck in what they call their reserved parking spaces my tires were just touching the white divider line between the parking spaces and one of the workers older woman ran out and started yelling at me telling me I need to move my truck over and park it properly. The Water Connection is one of my favorite local businesses in Phoenix. The wonderful woman who runs this water store is truly invested in providing a great product. I lived at the apartment complex directly behind this establishment for a short while. I went in because it was convenient. My first time in the store I felt like family. She educated me on water, plastic and glass in a no-pressure way. I ended up finding excuses to come to the store: snow cones, shower filtration, cell food, etc. Now I live in central Phoenix. I gladly make the trip to 40th and Camelback when our family needs water. My 1 year old has had water connection most of his life. I've lived in Phoenix for 31 years and have loyalty to very few places. This is at the top of the list. read more

We've been going to Water Connection for over 15 years! The water is so fresh, we cannot drink anything else. It is oxygenized, which makes the water taste incredibly fresh and crisp (and is more easily absorbed into the body). It REALLY is the best water in town, and different than everywhere else. The ice is the same way... we highly recommend it. They also have other great items like shaved ice, and other health-related products like chlorine removal systems, trace minerals, anti-inflammatory creams, magnesium supplements, and tons more. I am legitimately unable to wear a face covering for health reasons, which other retailers are super discriminatory about. I'm frequently made to feel that I'm faking it, or that EVERYONE should be able to wear a mask, regardless of health or emotional triggers. The wide discriminations at most retailers is EXTREMLY derogatory and demeaning. Water Connection is always very clean, everyone remains at a respectful distance, and they are always friendly and welcoming to all customers. I really value that they respect every individuals health choice, while taking responsible measures to maintain cleanliness and healthy practices. I also value small businesses now more than ever, when it is so difficult for them to survive in the current environment. Small business is the backbone of America. If taken down, the economic repercussions are far-reaching. To save small-town Phoenix, we HAVE to keep these businesses open. I also like that on certain days, Water Connection has locally-sourced eggs, and fresh bread! Stop by for snowcones! This store is owned by the nicest people and my kiddo (and I, yes I have to get one too) loves the snowcones. Kiddo has tried rainbow with cotton candy, pineapple and blue raspberry, and I like the cherry and cola flavors side by side. The water and ice (made from the water) are so clean and clear that in regular daylight you can see the light refracting, shimmering literally like a rainbow. Just because the state guarantees the water won't kill you doesn't mean that by the time it gets through the pipes in the sand/heat and old buildings it will be palatable or even healthy. The Water Connection provides that extra super fine filtration to finish the job clean. I have been coming here for my water since I moved here and I will continue to do so as long as I am here. I stopped in on a whim, lured in by the signs for a Hawaiian Shaved Ice. Being a fan and a connoisseur of Shaved Ice, slushes, snow cones, raspados and other predominantly icy treats I am always on the lookout for my next fix. This place has the best shaved ice ever! I am addicted! I didn't realize what good Ice and good water could do for shaved Ice. On my first visit, I was gifted a gallon of the water with the purchase of my Shaved Ice. This has become my favorite stop for all things water. The water is superb!! When chilled I swear it stays colder longer and does a much better job of refreshing and quenching my thirst than anything off the tap! A huge fan of seltzer and Perrier, I started carbonating my own water using this water as my base. Perrier be damned, the carbonated water I get using this water is just as good or better. I also buy the bagged ice. Again I swear it freezes harder and improves the taste of any beverage that requires ice. I find myself drinking more water as a result. The lady who owns and operates the place is very helpful and friendly. She takes great pride in her water and her whole operation. Everyone who works here is always very helpful and friendly. They also offer an after hours filling station just outside their door. Very convenient! It's essential retail strategy to change things up from time to time. Especially when you could better utilize your space. My suggestion was that you move the snow cone service across the store, behind the cash wrap counter; so you don't have your doorway & water service blocked by the moms & kids with their snow cones. The whole customer flow is jammed into less than 100 sq feet...
