I ate at the bar with a friend today and it was very good. We had a dozen oysters with freshly baked bread and some wine. I will be back.

Large outdoor space and building with impressive foyers make this a nice place to work. I had to giggle when I read someone's review, yes it's true there is not that much water, definitely more garden. When I was working here, the company I worked for had temporary offices here for a while, it was a nice space. Our floor was a bit rinky dink compared to the foyer and exterior though. I think this space is better outdoor than indoor but it's nice that there is fooda and of course, Mrs. Winstons! Parking does kind of suck but it's there, get to work a bit early to find some, the entrances seem poorly designed compared to colorado center. read more

Great office complex with many famous companies. The water gardens in the central plaza are incredibly beautiful with many schools of ducks calling it home. The weather in Santa Monica is ideal all year long so you can enjoy the gardens. From Subway to a deli to the food truck alley across the street, food is covered for you if you work here or are considering moving your office here. The underground parking structure has plenty of space as well so no need to stress. The only negative, the ONLY negative thing about this complex is that it is located on Cloverfield...of the Cloverfield exit on the 10W... one of the most congested exits I have ever seen in my 23 years of living life as an Angeleno. But hey, that comes with living in LA, right? If you're here to meet a client or for a meeting, be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to get off the freeway and park and arrive to the destination point once you get out of the parking garage. This complex is easy to navigate, but if you dont have all the information of your venue choice, you may end up getting lost. read more

3.5 stars because it's a great spot to eat outside. They have various eateries here, but I've really only eaten at Mrs. Winston's, City Kitchen Express, and Cafe Bizou because I work nearby and walk over every now and then. Those places are good/fine, but not so good that you should drive over here to experience the food and the Water Garden. The Water Garden is a business campus so as far as those go the center "courtyard" is huuuge and is nice to take a little break. The have plenty of benches, tables, chairs and umbrellas. There's grass, trees, and sometimes ducks. If they had awesome eateries like Chipotle, Tender Greens, or True Food Kitchen, etc, I'd eat outside here every day! Gorgeous buildings and landscaping. But the worst possible parking. First off, there are always plenty of spots, yet somehow they charge like 6 dollars per 15 minutes or something insane. And if you get validation and miss the window by a minute you're screwed and have to cough up a bunch of money. How do you get off charging so much and being such hard asses when parking isn't a hot commodity? It's bananas. read more

Uh... simply, YES! 2004 TOBY AND BOMA awards.. if you truly care, they're some acronyms that prove they rock and swept their competitors.They've won some other kinds of awards, but what i'm more interested in are the cute ducks... May I please feed them, if I say the magic word? Oooh.. those lemons on those trees would be wonderful in a bundt cake or some fresh lemon bars with mint... may I pick a few? They'll grow back... What an awesome place to visit. Uh... bit nerdy, self-confessed, but aren't buildings and landscaping rather inspiring? At least, they can be, with the right masters' touches, which is most certainly the case here.... Almost across from JJ Abrams' office on Cloverfield (hence the title of his flick)...JJ, I love the way your brain is wired! You're rather brilliant. But, as usual, I digress. Water Garden, Jana!!! ahem. Touring this complex is somewhat like touring the Nike HQ campus in Beaverton... simply awestruck. Everywhere one looks, it's beauty magnified. Boss berating you for something? Go walk it off at the pond (or feed a cute duck).... Deadlines galore and you ain't enough time in your day? My company has returned to working in the office following all property protocols. The Water Garden has decided to redo the building entry doors for "health reasons" and have not thought about the paying tenants who work in these buildings. They started construction 3 weeks ago to replace our current doors, with automatic sliding doors. We now have to touch an additional 9 doors and buttons. This negates any reasoning of "caring for our health." The wood barriers they placed temporarily have cutout doors to walk through but for safety reasons, we aren't allowed to. They could have us sign waivers to walk through these perfectly designed cutout doors, but have instead chosen not to. In order for us to get into our office, we have to enter another building on another street, go down their elevator, walk through the parking garage, and up the elevator to our building lobby, then up another elevator to our own office floor. It takes 15 minutes to get out of the building alone therefore to consider taking any break outside is an extra 30+ minutes. The building management did not think about the only paying tenants who are keeping them standing during this Pandemic. It's sad to say, that the working-class is being affected by these extreme decisions. The security staff has been extremely rude and ignorant to the fact that we have to jump through many hoops to get to work or even take a lunch break. When I walk through the desolate building hurriedly eating my lunch, because of the now extended time it takes to leave and come back - the security staff has the audacity to say that I have to wear a mask. They must not be aware, but humans can't breathe while consuming food and people are not forced to wear masks while eating or drinking. This is inhumane and callous of the security staff. It seems they are power-hungry and enjoy dictating what others can and cannot do. As if we aren't all managing enough stress at this time, it is extremely disappointing this is what things have come to. Although the door situation is temporary, it has made it ever so clear what kind of people The Water Garden hires. read more

The Water Garden is an amazing spot to grab lunch at. My internship is right across the street from The Water Garden; so everytime I decide to go out for lunch I always make sure to grab a table right upfront. Personally, I think that The Water Garden is a hidden gem, especially when you have been coped up in an office all day. The Water Garden has a ton of tables and benches that are shaded by trees and umbrellas which gives you the opportunity to eat lunch outside without getting too hot. The Water Garden also has ponds with schools of ducks and a few fountains. The Water Garden also has a bunch of lunch options. They have Food Truck Alley right across the street on 26th, Subway, a Deli, and even a place where you can make your own salad and sandwiches. Things to note: I would definitely check out how much parking is (most people who go here work in the area so they don't normally have to deal with parking) I would debate what time to go because they do get busy during the lunch rush read more

When I came here for the first time during the interview process, I said to myself - Oh My God?!!! Can I really work in such a beautiful place? As you step out of the rising elevator, the concrete jungle seems so far away. Turn to your middle and vast across the center area is a large lake harboring ducks and opening her beds to weary workers as they rest at lunch. The weeping willows, swinging their branches into the water and draping around like so, are a beautiful addition, and complete the garden's aesthetics. It is a beautiful place to relax on your lunch break without requiring a 30 minute drive; or it is a perfect Saturday/Sunday morning spot with a nice cup of coffee, and a good book. Easy to consume yourself in the pages of a novel, while the sun hits the nape of your neck, and you escape the insanity of LA city life. Parking on the street, and underground. The garden is directly in the center of all the surrounding buildings. You can't miss it. Also, there are a few places to eat there in case you didn't bring a lunch. I work here! And it's not a bad place to spend most of your day. Unfortunately, I'm indoors 99.9999% of the time. The outside: great design and conducive to reading, relaxing or just stepping out of the dungeon/office for a nice walk around the fountains. It doesn't take long before the ambiance and atmosphere take over and relieve practically any daily stress. Lots of trendy eating options all over the area. This includes a menagerie for food trucks just across the street! Large community tables and oversized umbrellas easily make a great spot for a quick lunch with friends and co-workers. Careful: sometimes the seat cushions are wet and you can't tell just by looking at them. Trust me on me on this one. Tip: Bushes of rosemary growing out by the parking area next to the Subway! The best part: once a quarter, as a "Thank You," they roll out In 'N' Out lunches for all the tenants! read more

The architectural team did a great job here. Although I spend the majority of my time in one of their towers, just one look out the window and I feel like I'm at some luxurious hotel. Ducks? Fountains? Do we really need all this? But I'm not complaining. There are a number of great eateries within the complex, too. Love this place, been there twice for lunch and both visits were excellent! Last went on Valentine's week. First got a male waiter who was so helpful and gave us some pointers on what to order, he was so enthusiastic about the menu and the fish, very refreshing. We ended up getting the iced seafood platter for 2. It was excellent and so fresh. It had oysters on the half shell, mussels, shrimp, scallops, spot prawns and clams, plenty of shell fish for 2 for $45.00, to me a bargain. The complex is nice as expected in a class A commerical building. The monthly parking pass is a pain and only work half the time. I have to get out of my car and wave the sticker badge for it to work. A few times this and last week, they had the gates up all day. This has been a problem for several months. This place is okay for a quick lunch. I prefer Trimana over Mrs. Winston's for soup and sandwiches, but you can't beat Mrs. Winston's salad bar! I would definitely recommend getting there at 11:55 or at 1:00...the lunch rush is pretty crazy. Overall there is a lot of outdoor seating by the water which is really nice on a sunny day. I would not recommend the subway nearby...that place SUCKS. And Cafe Bizou was...bad. But I will save that for it's own review. read more
