Juliana is amazing! I used to go to European Wax Center and I'm SO happy I started coming to The Wax Genie. I love supporting a local business. Juliana is so professional, knowledgeable, personable, and makes you feel comfortable. I recently moved and still make the drive to CV to see her. It's hard to find good quality waxers and it's worth the drive to me. I enjoy chatting with her and the service is top notch. I think there are two Wax Genies next door to each other so this is for Juliana's Wax Genie. I do this for special occasions and trips so I get a little anxious about the experience but Juliana gives me the most painless waxing I've ever had. Also I'm a little older than the usual 20-30 something's so I get a little self conscious when I go there but she puts me totally at ease and is great at distracting me from what's going on "downtown" which I appreciate immensely. She's the best and we're lucky to have her in Castro Valley. read more

Went to Juliana for the first time for a Brazilian wax. Let me tell you it was a wonderful experience. She was early, had everything set up, and was so welcoming and friendly. The place was very clean and bright, giving you a nice relaxing atmosphere. She put me at ease through the whole thing and was very pleasant to be around. She made me feel comfortable and the wax was done fairly quickly and the pain was way less then I expected. I already rebooked and can't wait for my next service. I was so nervous to get my first Brazilian but I'm so thankful I found Alyssa at Wax Genie!! She is AMAZING and the reason I keep coming back. Before going I did a lot of research because my friends would tell me how much it hurt. Wax Genie was the only place I found with great reviews, especially for first time goers. Alyssa talk me through the whole process and what she was doing. She told me it would take about 3 times for it not to hurt. SHE WAS RIGHT! I just finish my 6th time and it barley hurts. My hair has thinned out so much that I can go 5-6 weeks in between waxing. All I have to say is TRUST THE PROCESS and ALYSSA! You won't regret it. read more

I've gone to different places over the last few years but there was always something that kept me from coming back. This time around I found The Wax Genie on Yelp and they have such amazing reviews that I knew I had to give it a shot. I made the appointment online which was super convenient and received reminders up to the date. When I arrived I was met by Juliana and immediately she gave off such a good vibe. Super welcoming and made me feel comfortable. She worked quickly but with care. You can tell she is truly skilled at her craft. She made great conversation, she's one of those people you meet and immediately feel like you've known her for years. The overall experience exceeded my expectations. This review is long overdue. I used to be a regular, and the only reason I no longer go here is because of scheduling. I needed more flexibility with scheduling than what was available. Juliana is very popular, and after you have a service with her, you will understand why! She is excellent at what she does, and so respectful, kind, and fun to talk to. You will feel very comfortable here, and her shop is adorable. She really knows what she is doing, and is very careful and attentive. Her process is very clean and sanitary, no double-dipping here. I have been here a few times now, it is the cutest. Sharleen really takes care of me here! She has been waxing me for over three years - I wouldn't trust anyone else with my waxing needs. I originally became her client for my brows, because she is the Queen. I always enter looking like a hairy teenager, and leave a woman. I have been coming to Alyssa consistently for maybe 6 months now? She started off by waxing my eyebrows...a slay. Then my legs...still a slay. And now we're trying a Brazilian in a few weeks! She's so nice to talk to and always makes me feel welcome. I've never felt judged by her even though she has seen my gorilla legs and eyebrows. Ive been seeing Juliana since she was at Spoiled Kitty and shes the best there is. I live in santa rosa now and i literally drive the 1.5 hrs for her to wax me when our schedules match. Ive tried others. But Juliana is seriously amazing at what she does. No hair left behind ever. Shes fast, Shes professional and I can say shes a friend now. She's super sweet and easy to talk to. Long overdue with this review, I've been going to Juliana for a couple years now, and am happy to say she is most definitely my go-to wax lady! Juliana is very friendly and welcoming, like a friend I have known for a long while :) to find parking, I just park behind El Rancho steak house, which should not be an issue since the lot has a lot of space. Inside the little green building is an incredibly adorable wax parlor where she does her magic. If you have any worries (I have at least a thousand every day) regarding waxing, she will address them for you and take good care of you when you come in for your appointment! I cannot thank her or recommend her enough for her work :) I walk out feelin amazing and looking forward to my next appointment with her again, chatting about whatever~ you will, too! read more

Juliana hands down made me feel like I have been going to her for years! I had my first wax treatment done with Wax Genie a few weeks back! Meaning I was over due lol! No rush at all and I never feel pain. The wax is amazing and I see a difference in how the hair grows back. She uses two different types of hard wax on me just because my hair grows differently. She applies great pressure, especially on my sensitive spots. Best of all, she always remembers you from the last session and makes a huge effort to stay consistent. I can't speak highly enough of her. She does amazing work and my Brazilians are always A1. I see her religiously every four weeks and she doesn't even try to up sell you things or make you come sooner. She really does care about her patients.
